I'm kindda sick of the XBMC crashes.. about 20+/- minute it will crash. sometimes more often. Haihz..

xbmc is stable on himedia only if u change advancedsettings.

refer to my post #407 in this thread. try both of them, see which one is better.

the second one is found in the 1.0.6 emmc eng firmware, deals with timeout. it works very well with xbmc 12.2 incl 1080 files but can't enable some popular addons. this setting does not work as well with 12.3 when it comes to 1080 or even 720 dd5.1/dts5.1. so gotta choose 12.2 or 12.3.

i am now using the second one on 12.3 but with 100mb cache. but it seems no different with original 5mb cache. very stable.

q5ii non-emmc 1.0.6 eng not yet; only 1.0.6 china.

yea, i am a silent reader here actually. I've tested the 2nd one you posteed on post #407. It didnt work also. I am using it with 12.3. FYI i dont use xbmc to watch local media. I use it to watch online media like live sports n stuff from 1channel. Maybe I will increase the cache to 100mb but i doubt it will have any effect.

Any idea how to enable the logs on xbmc? maybe can give me some clue to the reason it crash...

i had lots of crashing before but since using that advancedsettings.xml, it has been very stable.
possible yr broadband unstable or weak? i'm using unifi 10mbps wired lan and wireless lan - both ok.

i dun use xbmc for local playback too. mainly using icefilms, istream, kissanime and mashup's buzzy sports-latest tv-hd movies-hackermils stash.

enabling logs... no, i have not tried that.

my 1Mbps internet line is indeed lame but definitely not slow enough for the content i watch which are only SD quality. And the content i download always buffer ahead of the play..

But if its true its kindda sad that xbmc can crash due to internet.

My Q5 II build number is HMD-1.0.6 2014-03-06.093804

i hv the same in my non-emmc unit. it was online updated, china version.

in my other emmc unit, it is eng version:
HMD 1.0.6 2014-03-12.120546

tested XBMC Gotham 13 rc1, work work fine on Q16 , but need to change default player to himedia native player. so far tested file from local drive and smb ..no hickup for 1080p files

what is rc1?

is this gotham release working well for the normal streaming? (not local usb/samba playback.)

AVFan, RC1 was the release candidate 1 which XBMC released before the stable.

XBMC Gotham 13 Stable just released yesterday and i tested it on my Q16 where it will just stop responding when trying to launch it. Mind to share what was the tweak?

back to 12.2 or 12.3.

alto this gotham 13.0 version supposedly good for androids, think it does not apply to himedia's chipset when it comes to streaming.

guess will have to wait for them to come up with a new modified 13.0 version/advanced settings...
