QUOTE(heliora10 @ Jan 28 2014, 08:48 PM) ya that's the best way, but for others in the household to use, and also looking for a remote that can control other devices, so far I only found Rikomagic Mk702 ii, any other air mouse / keyboard combo that can also control other devices? I see. Great idea. If there are any other such remote that be able to learn so that I can replace Unifi STB, I will be keen to. Do share if you have more findings. Thanks.

like to share this with q5ii and maybe other models...
check yr settings, display, see if it is set correctly. if set to 720p/50hz, picture not so good.
for some strange reason, some hd/1080p tvs dun accept the highest setting 1080p 60hz for some players.
but can try another tv, set it correctly and it will stay there even when u revert to orig tv.
i checked that becos the same thing happens with one of my other media players.
note: above only for hdmi output, has no effect with composite+l/r output which i think is preset and fixed.

Maybe it was playing through XBMC earlier and this time I use the built in media centre, hmm gotta try further. btw using built in media centre to play videos, so long as the subtitle files are in the same folder they should be displayed automatically right?

Thanks. got the Rikomagic MK702ii universal remote control / air mouse, after some setting up and fumbling managed to control multiple devices including tv, himedia, astro and sound system with 1 remote, pretty convenient woohoo. QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 1 2014, 12:20 PM) tq for the posts, will check them out. anw managed to locate network folders via the built in media centre, so not so crucial to fix xbmc for now.

hi.... i thought the Q5-ii has built in with DTS/AC3 audio decoder?QUOTE http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?&id=18922161573

QUOTE(heliora10 @ Jan 25 2014, 10:03 PM) hmm streaming hiTV cloudTV and PPS are all very laggy for me even though it's smooth on the laptop... Both on the same wifi... anyone with the same experience? also does anyone know if there's a way to remote control the Android TV box remotely like through teamviewer, trying to make it a remote bittorrent server. i just checked pptv from histore - this app works well, incl hd stuff. some movies are in original canto audio, not mandarin dubbed. take note this pptv also exist inisde hitv but does not work that well there - for me, at least. vqq within hitv and this standalone pptv will give you stuuf to last you a couple of years watching!
