actually butthead is a very advanced computer program.. a chatterbot more advanced than even apple's siri...light years ahead...

steve has been dying to get his hands on this advanced program up to the moment of his death... in fact, the dissapointment from the inability to acquire it was rumored to be his cause of death...

possible. like mr plankton's computer wife

i think I need a 90mm stem not 70mm...luckily wiggle has a 365 days return policy.

Added on December 28, 2012, 3:40 pm

thx buddy for the tip. weird huh..after 1 year riding only I feel I need to adjust the stem..i guess all this while only climbing hence not much sore as i'll always out of saddle...nowdays ride flat only only feel arm soreĀ  tongue.gif

to get the correct stem length, there's a cincai rule. when ur hands are on the hoods, ur handlebar should block ur view of the front hub. that's the cincai rule la.

some might argue with the fork rake etc. don't think too much. just use the cincai rule. but ultimately, if u don't feel comfortable or u feel ur arms are too outstretched, use shorter stem. u don't have to rigidly stick to the rules.

or, if u dont mind spending some money, get a professional bike fitting

Added on December 28, 2012, 3:52 pmi've experimented with 90, 100, 110.

so complex..haihs..when finding the correct stem, do you play with the saddle movement as well? Currently mine was fix at the maximum front end railing, making me pushed backwards as far as it can. perhaps I may overcome the need for a shorter stem after i move the saddle to the front a bit.
*
why don't u use a setback seatpost?

i started with 110, then moved to 90. i'm on 100 now. but the guy says i can go with 110 with my current setup

Added on December 28, 2012, 4:00 pmmrjgx already pushed his saddle furthest back, and wants to use short stem. weird setup.

why did u push back ur saddle? u got really long legs? and 90mm stem, because short torso?

I pushed back the saddle because I like to sit at the further back of the seat, if I move to the front it'll feel weird.

About the knee over the spindle, my knee is a bit behind the spindle but very minimal. I can also see my front hub a bit.

Saddle height is perfect though. Hurm do I need a setback seatpost? Or a shorter stem? I'm screwed.
*
knees should be exactly over the spindles. if not, u'll strain ur knees. it's like, imagine u climbing up the stairs. is it easier if u lean forward and ur knee is right above the next flight of stair, or is it easier if u lean back n climb up the stair?

what u need now is:
- make sure the cleats are positioned correctly.
- adjust the saddle fore/aft position
- select a stem length that suits u

or u can do whatever it is u wanna do; use 70mm stem with ur current setup

like butthead says, whatever yanks ur chain, man

And in order to lube my chain, do I need to grease it or something?
*
no u don't have to. just put the chain lube. if ur chain is too dirty, degrease it. but don't use the degreaser for automotive like selley's. use the ones for bikes, like morgan blue or finish line etc.

Added on December 29, 2012, 7:45 pmi'd go with the group buy option from wiggle. share shipping cost with a couple of friends. get dhb or altura brand. not too expensive, decent quality too

ok after a week of reading, i've narrowed my choice (again...)

1. prologo zero
2. prologo zero pas (with cut-out)
3. specialized toupe 143mm
4. fizik antares kium
5. selle italia slr

prologo; not sure if i should get the one with or without cutout. and i'm very skeptical with this model. the guy at pedalspot said that the zero not very popular. bestseller is nago. but nago is semi-rounded, not flat. i heard prologo is very durable.

spez toupe; very popular, even among mat salleh forumers. but not very durable, at least that's what i've read. butthead, how about yours? durable?

fizik antares; the nose is wide. is it good or bad?

selle italia slr; very popular too. but, it's the kind of saddle that will make u either hate it or love it. kinda risky isn't it?

i've been using arione for years already. before this, there were some pain, but not obvious. only lately it's getting worse. maybe the padding already kaput?

by the way, test sitting on it only without mounting it on the seatpost? will that work?

Added on January 2, 2013, 1:06 pmprologo;

have you tried cutout saddles before? some people don't like it because they got (my speculation) lots of meat down there and it feels like sitting on a cookie cutter

the cutout on the pas looks a bit small... dunno got effect or not...

i previously have nago evo ts, not too bad lar for a cheapo saddle... but those were days before prologo built it's presence over here

spez toupe; very popular, even among mat salleh forumers. but not very durable, at least that's what i've read. butthead, how about yours? durable?

mine is creaking a bit...no big deal if you can deal with the slight noise... mostly only when climbing in the saddle

fizik antares; the nose is wide. is it good or bad?

depends... i like the wide nose on my spez... cos i sit on the front end quite a lot rather than the rear wider portion... but, some people has been complaining about wider nose causing chaffing on their thighs... i think, it's a preferential thing

are they that wide... i think the spez is much wider than the antares.. or at least i felt mine is

*
nope, never tried a saddle with cut-out. does that mean, spez toupe not suitable for me?

antares nose is wider than spez toupe. as wide as romin's nose.

Added on January 2, 2013, 1:22 pmafter reading an article regarding saddle choice on cervelo's site, i think i wanna try flat type saddle.
