130mm is like quite narrow... i think my spez is already the narrowest at 134 or was it a 137mm... there is a 143mm and i think maybe an even wider one...

for lightness, i think i'll put my bet on selle italia being a better saddle than the fizik..

*
my sit bones measure 110mm. so at least my saddle has to be 130mm wide. 134mm should be fine.

about selle italia vs fizik, which one you'd think can't go wrong in terms of comfort? i know saddles are very personal, but between those two, which one is widely accepted?

selle italia SLR kit carbonio vs fizik antares 00

Just got back in from doing some rounds around DPC,  26km in an hour or so. Looking to make this a daily thing (ideally, twice a day!) been too long without exercise.

I'm a T1 diabetic , interesting to see how this will affect insulin need - should reduce it quite a lot!
*
i've heard some guys apparently no longer diabetic after consistently working out on their bikes!

Type 2 possibly, Type 1 doesn't disappear - it's not caused by unhealthy lifestyle, just bad luck and need to inject (or pump) insulin forever  blush.gif

When I was diagnosed 4-5 years ago I was cycling every single day to and from work (around 15km per day) !

i see. well, just fate i guess. hope you'll be able to keep ur health in check

isn't the slr a pure carbon shell only??? no comfort on that rite??? i haven't seen a 00 before... what difference is that compared to the carbon railed antares?

but usually.. i do feel that the selle italia is a bit more comfortable than the fizik..maybe it is for me.. i do mean in general taking into account of the shape, padding...
*
SLR tekno is purely carbon shell without padding. SLR kit carbonio has thin padding. antares 00 has more padding and flatter surface compared to antares braided.

err... you sure about such a saddle... it's a ball masher, you know..

actually, i never liked carbon rail saddles lar... those normal rails already give creaking sound from my weight... scared carbon beh tahan from the bashing and mashing..

i've liked the flite series all along... from more than 10 years back...used to own one of the marco pantani flite saddles on my MTB... just bought it because it looked fancy.. .haha..but cheap also back then.. RM1xx only if i remember correctly..

user posted image

in this case, i think maybe the fizik is more comfier than the selle...

u sure it's not the monolink rails oh... i know they made some special saddles that uses their proprietary monolink rails...damn f@ked up stupid...
*
i had the flite too! no problem.

selle italia kit carbonio

yeah... but look at the price.. my balls fell to the ground immediately... 2 grams lighter than the slr carbonio somemore  thumbup.gif  and massively over the antares 00...

Added on December 17, 2012, 2:11 pmfurthermore... a spez bike deserves a spez saddle... and if you are up for it... a spez stem, bar, and bar tape... i kinda like their wooly bar tape... damn expensive and easy to dirty...
*
my arione still in good condition. so... it's more like a case of itchy hands and the quest of dipping below 7kg mark. haha... if there's 30% discount, i might be very much tempted. but, if i were to get that saddle, i need to change my seatpost too. clamp not compatible with ovalised rails

*

aiyah.... Helmet got sizes one... cant simply buy online.

hmmm.... miao miao & mr.jgx... can share ur helmet hunting experience?

Any brand to recommend?

Rudy Project worth to get?
*
never tried rudy before. i used to own a las krypton. now i have giro aeon and lazer genesis.

las krypton fit perfectly. got helmet bag, no extra pads. spare parts not available here.

giro aeon fit ngam2, the sides just fit snugly. the shape is a bit bulky. u get spare pads, but no helmet bag. spare parts are available. the retention system works well.

lazer genesis shape is very nice. compact, so u don't look like a mushroom. the retention system can be a bit of fuss to adjust. u get a nice helmet bag. spare pads and spare parts are not available here.

other than those, i've tried spez, met, catlike, ogk, and bell.

my head can't fit spez, met, and bell. the sides are a bit narrow for my head.

spez looks really bulky. like a mushroom.

catlike is bulky too.

ogk looks too wide n flat.

selev helmets look nice, but the retention system is a fuss. they don't use dial

btw, with rm500, why not u try lazer genesis? it's 4xx i think. my favourite helmet so far.

wah lau... that's call cheap? Now you become spoke person for BikePro?  i shall plant spy to base there to see any great deal coming up next or not... so can grab one before sold out
*
no la. i don't get anything from boon. just sharing with u guys because i think it's a really good deal. normal price of giro aeon is rm700-720. i got a slight discount from another shop, rm680. cheapest i found so far from bbs, rm630. so, won't that make rm530 a good bargain? rm530 for a top range model, 222g for M size
