Yeah, I guess that's true. But at least I'm sure that CSL will release a quad core model next year, eve if it is in August or September, and the price is going to be sub RM1000, and it is almost impossible to find a quad core Android phone at that price.

It is bundled with 1 GB RAM, and also an 8MP camera, so it will be less of a pity act.

Wait till you see MediaTek solution that will come at a cheaper price than Qualcomm, as usual.

I hope CSL will REALLY release the quad core model + the good spec and the 7 inch product. I am willingly to give up my S Advance if they do. tongue.gif smile.gif hmm.gif

When I enquired them about, they said they were using Snapdragon to "distinguish themselves from they're competitors using MediaTek.

MediaTek SoC has cost advantage. Of course in term of image, Qualcomm has the upper hand.

From what I heard, Qualcomm will pit: Quad core Cortex A5 @40nm against MediaTek quad core Cortex A7 @28nm. Not a very enticing prospect. That is why I wonder.

Same was said about the Mercury vs Stealth 2 situation. But in the end, the Mercury came out on bemchmarks, so I guess we can't really rely on paper very much.

it would be best to have the Stealth 2 benchmark as well. wonder it performs as good as Black Pearl 2 as in its thread.

but the no stock on the mercury really make people feel bad. cry.gif cry.gif

MT6577 is fab @ 40nm. But MT6589 (and it family) is @ 28nm when Qualcomm still stuck at 40nm for its S4 Play coz it need to give priority to the Krait for 28nm. That will definitely make a difference.

CSL has just given me some info about the a SoC. They are trying to get the brand new S4 Play MSM8226 chip for the quad core model. If they do managae to get it, then Ninetology will have to be cautious about what they do, because the MSM8226 seems to be a MTK6589 beater!

To take screenshots, hold down the Volume down and power buttons at the same time. Congratulations on your phone! Adding to the userlist. Due to some problems, CSL could not get Jelly Bean for our Mi501s. They say they are trying to get Jelly Bean on their phones as soon as possible.

do try again, press and HOLD both vol down + power buttons. most phones with ICS work this way.

hi Cranky,

do you mean CSL could not get JB for the Mi501 recently or they have no intention to update JB on it?

They don't have to do anything with the production line?
Don't you know that CSL only order from manufacturer while ask them to just put CSL logo. The same goes to Ninetology. Thus basically they just need to play around with the number of orders for each model.
