Also guys, I will be in kl/pj for a week, any recommended watch shop for Orient Mako/Ray? Would love to get either one of them, need to check them in real life and the prices, thanks!

If you are in Sg Wang area, consider visiting Solar Time LV 5 (seen some old and interesting models here, 2 weeks ago) and Orient showroom LV 6 at KL Pavilion.

Nah it's ok decided not to replace the mineral crystal anymore, which has a big gash on it, i think i can live with it lol.

Other than the solar time at sungei wang? If I had to choose I wouldn't want to go to that area because of the traffic, and it's quite far away from me. How about pj/subang area?

Thanks
*
You can get it replaced at Thong Sia if you change your mind.

Traffic jam? 沒問題. Take the KTM Komuter to KL Central from PJ. Next take the KL Monorail to Sg. Wang. wink.gif

I'm not so sure in PJ/Subang area other than Sunway Pyramid. Try calling the distributor.

Watch number 8888?
*
shocking.gif
Assuming that someone spends an average of RM500 per watch, getting 8888 wristwatches is equivalent to spending:
RM500 X 8888 = RM 4,444,000.00 sweat.gif

There's also a question of where to keep that huge watch collection.
Wealthy serious watch collectors have less than 100 pcs in their collection at any time. laugh.gif
Even the largest personal collection of Swatch watches is around 4K+ pcs IIRC.

As soon as my collection is complete, I'll post a pic. wink.gif

Might be getting a Seiko as my next watch. Some Q's: -

1. Any shop in KL/PJ where I could see the most range ? Seiko boutique in Sunway Pyramid ?
2. Discount is about 25% off SRP...correct?

Appreciate reply. Thanks.
*
Depends on the range and model that you want to look for. If you want a Grand Seiko, the Seiko boutique in Sunway Pyramid is the place to go. Although they sell Seiko 5s all the way to Grand Seikos, I recommend visiting other ADs as well since the boutique carry only a small portion of the entire range of Seiko watches.

Standard discounts in the Seiko boutique depends on the models ranging from 5% to 20%. 30% is offered for selected models. Other ADs standard discount is around 20%~25%.

hi Catnip is the link trustable?
*
I have an NOS in my collection and the item is original as described though dented with visible scratches.

Haven't bought anything from the seller yet but I believe that the seller is legit.
The store also has a facebook page. <LINK>
Also advertised in mudah.my <LINK>

Haven't found any negative feedbacks on the net yet.

The description of the watches are also correctly described.
If the watch is using aftermarket parts it will be stated.
Unstated bezel insert? Yes. That can be clarified by contacting the seller.
But I have yet to see one that is misleading.

Still in doubt? There's the paypal option.

Looking for Criteria Men, Criteria Women & Premier Men. For myself & my wife.  smile.gif

She want to choose based on the real thing...not website photo...need a shop that carry the most range for these series. Appreciate and feedback. Thanks.
*
That's a tall order since there as so many models available but possible with prior research and arrangement.

First you need to get the model no. of the watches that you and your wife are seriously interested in.
Thong Sia Seiko Product List
or from other Seiko websites.

I recommend going to any City Chain AD including the Seiko Boutique (managed by CC) in Sunway since they keep track of their stock and location in real time. I believe MidValley & One Utama Branch are the largest.
Give them the list and try to make an arrangement with the PIC for bringing in the models that are not available in that branch for viewing. So far I had no problems with other ADs, but keep in mind YMMV. If you did, PM me and I'll try to assist.

Do consider the Premier, Sportura and Velatura models for the ladies too.... wink.gif

What exactly do you mean your dad's eyesight is not good? Farsighted? hmm.gif
Perhaps a good pair of spectacles with progressive lenses would be better.

Thanks. Is it advisable that if I buy the watch and change it to leather strap?

And which AD is selling this? What is the price range for this model also?

Sorry if I throw in so muich questions, as I checked there was a post(first few in V2 thread), then only I realize it is called big military. Correct me if I am being wrong.

SNZG13K1 is brushed finished with metal bracelet. Would love to bring one home only if I can find one for sale in ADs to keep up with sniper on the roof.
The most commonly available and popular model in any ADs is SNZG15K1. The same watch but with bead blasted finish fitted with black nylon strap. UTSE. Available for around RM400+ before discount.

It looks nice. Reminds me of Pulsar (Seiko) watches issued to British RAF Navigators. Personally, I'd look for a black dial.

Not to worry. There's plenty of other models to acquire...
If you're looking for something with a heritage how about Seiko's SVBR001?
Seiko has been making railroad pocketwatches since 1929 and is still making them unlike THAT other brand watches with funny names. wink.gif
Dimension 47mm X 13.4mm
Anti-magnetic rating of 16,000A/m or 201 Gauss
Movement is 7C21 of the same family as the 7C46 that is used in Prospex Marinemasters.

It's issued to all railroad engineers or operators in Japan and have a special storage area in the cockpit.

Now, Im getting fatter  sad.gif  so can't really wear it. It hurts my hand  sad.gif . If wear for a while it's okay. Just really tight, though. Therefore I seldom wear this watch.
I need just 1 piece of the band connector, then it would perfectly suit me.

Nice watch. Can you please PM the price bought?
How about going on a diet instead? laugh.gif

Have you tried adjusting the size using the holes on the buckle?
