QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 6 2013, 01:47 PM) The latest SKX007K2 with 24j 7S26. With a good discount, no difference with the previous version. QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 6 2013, 09:16 PM) Congrats. Nice catch. QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 7 2013, 12:30 PM) The original brown strap looks best since it matches nicely with the green dial. |

QUOTE(Lurker @ Jul 6 2013, 06:50 PM) It isn't numbered, so its a limited production run edition. I think they will produce it for at least a year before stopping production.QUOTE(idoblu @ Jul 8 2013, 09:48 AM) Somehow Seiko watches has this problem of the pip on the bezel not aligning with the 12o'clock mark. It does not sit on one of the clicks. You can move it back and forth as there is some play. Strangely the rest of the bezel position does not have this problem only at 12 o'clock. Why huh? QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Jul 9 2013, 09:23 AM) Yeah, its a little bit loose at 12, but also at one or two other points on my SKX009J as well. No such issue on my Sumo. If it really bothersome, send it to Thong Sia SC. It's a quick easy fix. The same also applies if the date does not change exactly at midnight. Just bring along the warranty card and receipt (just in case).QUOTE(hans74364 @ Jul 9 2013, 12:15 PM) Hey bros, I just bought my seiko V175-0BT0. I noticed that the button A is a bit harder to press compared to button B. Is that a normal thing? I haven't a V175 movement yet. Why don't you get it checked at Thong Sia SC?QUOTE(EdonisSlade @ Jul 8 2013, 03:15 PM) Nice. I have a 7T92 as well. Time to get more Seiko watches. Perhaps a mechanical one? Itching to get one. I'll try to upstage sniper on the roof. |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 10 2013, 10:39 PM) Upstage? How can the odd piece from here and there possibly compare? I was just teasing... Pic spam. I think gonna settle on this strap.. everytime I check the time, it makes me feel like taking the day off and go up YanMing Mountain jalan jalan and drink some green tea. ![]() Yes, the strap looks great and matches the watch nicely. A pleasant color combination. My first ever Seiko wristwatch has a green dial too. |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 11 2013, 11:56 PM) Thanks.. and ya I should really stop buying Seikos already. No la.... Still need to get a few more... at least another dozen. On another note, the green tea watch is one of the very few that the missus approves. She likes the dial color. How about this one as your next target? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I digress a bit. Regarding typoon Soulik, how's the condition in your area? Has the storm passed? |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 13 2013, 09:36 PM) Anyway, problem with Seikos is that there's always a next target In the beginning, if I recall correctly, you didn't like the SNZG especially the '5' logo either.Nice MM.. have tried it on before.. didn't quite bond with it. Now, you are lowyat.net unofficial Seiko SNZG ambassador. Over time, you may like it. After all, "Tak kenal maka tak cinta." QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 14 2013, 11:42 AM) I wasn't aware of that. <editing my wishlist now...> |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Jul 16 2013, 05:53 AM) Anyone knows how Seiko uses its model lettering system? For example its really confusing when the Monster comes in SKX, SRP, SZEN, etc.... What does the letters mean? QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 16 2013, 04:12 PM) Those are just prefix for watch models in sales catalog. The following numbers are added for newer models. Something like our registration plates.Example. Seiko chronograph SNDA ->SNDB ->SNDC ->SNDD SKX is an old designation for watches with 7S26 movements. SRP is a newer designation for Seiko Superior models that uses newer movements. Some models exact models have different catalog numbers for different markets. Seiko Presage SSA018J1 (International) SARY018 (JDM) IINM, SZEN is for JDM and selected markets for Seiko Monster with a slightly different dial marking. |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 15 2013, 01:52 AM) It wasn't really the "5" logo but more of the "Sports" moniker. No worries man. Just buy for collection. I've got several diver's watches but not man enough to wear them. Not really a big fan of divers and thus far... I'm still enjoying the 007. Starts with a visit to yobokies Or get yourself some autosol metal polish. I recently scuffed the crystal on my SKX (was careless checking out coral stones in the local fish shop) ... polishing cloth didn't work... colgate didn't work. Autosol did... after 30 odd minute of so or rubbing. I'll give the autosol polish a try soon. |

QUOTE(fox_shinoda @ Jul 18 2013, 11:57 PM) From this forum, what I understand is SKX007KD same with SKX007K2 On the contrary, the pic shown in Amazon has difference that I pointed out. Anyway, I don't want to speculate further without seeing pics of the actual watch.SoS |

Was looking for a particular model but didn't find it.
Since I intended to blow some money to expand my collection, I settled for this one, will get a grey market version for modding later. This was bought at an AD with close to 40% discount of RRP. Managed to get a proper display stand too. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by Catnip: Jul 30 2013, 12:05 AM |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 30 2013, 12:07 AM) I don't wear diver's watches, and Seikos in production are not my main priority in acquisition. Besides I collect other stuff as well.Anyway getting this watch was a blessing in disguise. Chatting with the shop owner, he showed me his personal collection and has two Seiko Bullheads and a few vintage Seiko divers in excellent original condition. A nice lead for future acquisition. Perhaps a 6105 in the near future..... This post has been edited by Catnip: Jul 30 2013, 12:32 AM |

QUOTE(snoopy@xj @ Jul 30 2013, 12:52 AM) Woah 40% discount, so much cheaper than those on creation watches? Mind revealing which AD? or only u can get 40% discount haha What do you mean cheaper? Watches at AD are usually more expensive than grey market. Everyone is free to negotiate and make the sales transaction at the agreed price. |

QUOTE(snoopy@xj @ Jul 30 2013, 12:46 PM) Oo ok, now i get what u mean. is there anyway we can tell whether the shop is an AD or greymarket, other than asking the shopkeeper of course. Check the ADs listed at Thong Sia Malaysia website.QUOTE(fox_shinoda @ Jul 30 2013, 05:50 PM) What was the quoted recommended price? from the dial I believe it is also an SKX007K2 version as well Yes it is and Thong Sia's RRP is RM1145. Some stores will mark up the price and give fantastic discounts. In the end you might get the watch very close to RRP. |
