For tritium paint dials ... depending on how long its been exposed to the sun.

Lumibrite/luminova... from what I read, I don't think it will develop patina.

My 17 year old t-dial Tag has a nice even tan patina but I don't have any old enough watch with luminova/lumibrite.

Unless u relume it with aged-look lume or bake it... http://www.pmwf.com/Phorum/read.php?30,206914,206914

Though this guy claims to have hung his SKX outside for 18months for the faded look but didn't elaborate further shocking.gif shocking.gif http://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/show-off-...tml#post5203531

Spent an hour at Pertama Complex...

Spotted :

- 7s26 Monsters black and orange on bracelet and rubber, SKX007 on Jubilee and SKX009 on Rubber
- 7s36 Black and White stargate, Silver Starfish with black bezel
- 4R15 100m Spork
- Seiko Sawtooth black
- Orient Sub NOS

Theres one 40th Aniversary Seiko 5 Titanium Diver 7s36 but shop is asking too high for it sweat.gif

This concludes my report smile.gif

Didn't get any watches (thank god sweat.gif) but grabbed a seiko oyster bracelet for my vintage Bellmatic

Attached Image

Now the watch looks like new rclxm9.gif

I'm totally confused.

As I know, Seiko 5 is on the bottom of the mechanical food chain.. and now its upgraded to more expensive 4R36... 7S36 discontinued.

But 7s26 continues in production? For what model? Everything else also move to 4RXX already wat. Or they making another mechanical line below Seiko 5. Or for Alba etc?
*
Not 7S26 but 7S36.
My source tells me that certain variants of 7S36 movement is still in production though it could change 6 months down the line. I dunno what is Seiko planning for the future. For new emerging markets? We will have to wait and see.

BTW Regarding the SKX007 NH36A mod that I posted earlier, I forgot to add that you need to change the day wheel too, else it wont align properly.

There are 4 stores selling Seiko watches right? 3 on the upper level near the main entrance from Jalan TAR and 1 somewhere in the middle of the grd floor or 1st floor. Just asking just in case I happen to be there and missed a store.

Was hunting for a watch last month. Didn't really plan to get an SRP043K2. biggrin.gif

Maybe for the other seiko brands ... Alba... jsprings etc?

Naw...won't be modding the 007. Keeping it as it is.... even the jubilee even though I got a super oyster sitting around. It matches the watch so nicely.

Possibly. I see new models for Cal Y676 aka 7S26 on J-Springs website..... laugh.gif
I hope Seiko's upcoming line up will include 7S36 for orang tua like yours truly.

After seeing your SKX007 and examined one in a store now I want 2. doh.gif One for modding and one for collection. Maybe later this year.

PS. Just a suggestion, get an SKX013K2 for your missus as a CNY gift... thumbup.gif

Movement transplant?

Get it man.... Funny thing is that I was so hesitant about the 007 for so long and even after the first hour or so of pulling the trigger, I was convinced that its another one of those impulse waste-of-money thingy that I got a habit of doing.

But since then it's been like permanently stuck to my wrist... it's unglamorous and unfashionable to a fault but its decidedly honest about its pedigree and damn does it feel right.

ps: The missus is not a fan of rattly bracelets laugh.gif
