ZA gives you more information on your Internet usage, i think this is quite useful

But I also think it causes problem in some P2P applications.

I using ZA with bitcomet, so far so good. As for the speed, last time was able to do 100k+ easily but since now everyone is complaining tm capped the p2p line or wad... i think everyone is slow not only ZA users. But my dl speed now is still consider ok.. sometimes can get 80+ with 2 -3 torrents.

i second this, this is more then enough actually.

Paired with an active heuristic antivirus and a safe browser, your safe to go explore the internet.

Use Router Firewall only - If you're using OSX/Linux or PDAs like PalmOS

Software + Hardware Firewall - Use it , if you're using Windows...cause you might never know when a worm suddenly shuts down windows

And dont suft pron sites as well.Even u have the best browser, good antivirus, hard firewall, u still will get virus, worm trojan from those pron sites, Dont download unknown files, expecially weird name and even with windows extension like .scr or .exe unless u sure its safe.

eh...... do ZA really cause any problem to P2P? i have not encounter any problem from ZA b4 seriously. sygate is the firewall which really make my head burst seriously, it block everything without even my notice.

the think i like about ZA is that i can set everything to Manual and perfectly know what is the software trying to do.. it will promp for permission.. if you know what you are doing.. it's seriously a very good software

well i have bad xperience w ZA last time (d time when u uninstall, windows asking some .sys file when rebooting), but refering to http://personal-firewall-software-review.toptenreviews.com/, it make me wonder, is ZA that good? why, out of this review, kerio is not included? izit its performance/functions inferior to others?

n jon89, as u suggest that KAV hv small memory footprint, y not trying karpesky anti-hacker?

Do u think we need a another advanced firewall instead using the XP SP2 bulit-in ( Windows Firewall) ? If need, which firewall should I choose to use? Thx.

Definitely.

Try ZoneLabs Zone Alarm Free - or any one of the other options from download.com.

The Windows Firewall is adequate but barely so.

Remember to off your windows firewall after you install another firewall like zonealarm. Two firewall running at the same time may cause conflicts.
