what did he say is true.
my d600 100 shots already show dust, i didn't even change lens lol
hold your horse first, let nikon come out a solution then only buy the later batch one.

I shoot landscape quite often(f11 or smaller), cloning off the dusts is annoying  doh.gif

glad to hear that
i just sent my d600 body for 2nd cleaning.
Shutter count is 10k.
i will verify once i got it back.

Having dust spots on D600 is not a big issue IMO, so far my usual supplier told me 3 of his customers reported their D600 having line on their images!

But they most likely can get a replacement unit.
You cant get that for dust issue.
The best they can do is foc sensor cleaning.

D600 = Dust600  doh.gif
*
Doesn't matter because all D600 is affected by the dust due to design flaw... but whoever kena the sensor issue --> suay.

FF for shooting at Sepang? You need a telephoto lens for sure... 70-300mm range at least.

Mostly crop I guess Haha hard to fill the frame when everything is moving so fast
*
Yeap, its harder to fill the frame when panning... but from experience, you cannot be continuously bursting... my limit is probably one to three shots in a go before I loose focus and then accidentally cropping the edges.

400mm at DX mode... 600mm equivalent tongue.gif I think this one probably cropped a little bit?

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Dec 5 2012, 12:56 AM)
me tried handheld, live view (so far all my live view results sooooooooooooo damn sharp), and tripod. seems that middle point oso got issues..aiya laugh.gif
he's aiming the D600

D600 DX mode still got 10.5MP sifuuuu.. tongue.gif still no problem leh laugh.gif
*
Again, did you do any micro adjust on the lens? My 35mm required about -8 micro adjust as well else all of them would be blur! Then again when I tried my 35mm on 2 other D800, it had different offset value.. one is -15 another is -3 only.

QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Dec 5 2012, 07:27 AM)
This is the most ridicuous thing I have ever heard from a camera company. I love Nikon but don't see how Nikon can sell a $2,000 with such a problem. More ridiculous are all the people that are buying the D600 knowing this is an issue.
*
Because its the cheap FX body! tongue.gif

yeah man..  very disappointed about that ... then now price go so low to match the coming 6D =_=' all of us early adopters LOST a good 400-600!
*
Unfortunately the D600 price dropped even faster than D800... I guess moral of the story do not be early adopters? Wait at least 6months to 1 year I guess...

I think is nikon marketing/sales fault la... their forecast is wrong... then they heard the canon 6D  pricing then quickly lower the price... leaving us being the joke for all canon fanboys  cry.gif  ... AND its not even a replacement for d700!  vmad.gif with no OFFICIAL answer on the dusty issue...  rclxub.gif

*sigh* on some days its hard to be a Nikon fanboy
*
D700 will not have any direct replacement, Nikon doesn't want the D700 replacement to chew up sales from D4 sweat.gif

QUOTE(KTCY @ Dec 5 2012, 09:40 AM)
D700 was launched with price tag 7k+

Comparing the D700 price when D600 was launched duh.

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Dec 5 2012, 11:53 AM)
yes i did, it needed -20 on my 50mm 1.8G, (n still is not that sharp..im thinking it needed more than that), my 14-24 is also affected n needed -10, and we're talking all middle points. guess my copy is that bad huh? having to change lens and change on the micro adjustments sucks big time. not only that, when im using the fifty, subject further than 1m/2m away seems to be in focus without micro adjustments. sometimes that is! warghhhh

having the super resolution might be an advantage as i post some pics on my fb - resize it and the misfocus is not so visible. but knowing the fact that its not properly focused really bothers me alot sad.gif
i think not 6 months, maybe one really needs to wait..maybe a year or so? buying a 2-year-old D3s/D700 body now sometimes will get u no problems. i have bought 3 x D700, 2 x D3, 2 x D3s, and ALL of them seems to have perfect focusing, no other problems. (not mine ah, this all help fren buy tongue.gif)

and i've bought a D600 and a D800 brand new..both of em got probs sad.gif

eh bro, i thot D700 came out with the price range of RM6.8k~7.2k? why cheaper than the D600? correct me if im wrong ya smile.gif
haha good point! thumbup.gif

nikon got their equipments in line real good now. if u want the D4 sensor, then u have to buy the D4. if the D800 is too much and the D600 is flawed...guess one will hav to opt the D700 for a cheap FF solution then laugh.gif
*
But you're telling me your center AF is having issue? hmm.gif

But you said already calibrated 'correctly'? Or the range +20 to -20 is not sufficient for your calibration?

not sufficient, and this is sometimes a prob when the subject is far.
*
I guess that's not an issue with the center AF, but most likely the AF module is totally offset...

its really frustrating, first because i paid alot for this. 2nd is sometimes its in focus, sometimes its not. mostly far subjects dont really need the AF fine tune, but for subjects closer than 1 meter, it needs more than -20 sweat.gif

and to make it worse, i thot it was the lens. so i mounted it on my D3 and everything is is super sharp focus sad.gif

have u send urs in buddy?
*
Not yet, I don't stay in KL so gotta wait till the weekend before I can send it in sad.gif need to travel all the way to KL for this. I know when focusing far away even my D700 has issues at times, but close up my D800 is still alright only the left hand AF consistently back focus as per the results I have shared, totally no issues with center or right.

I'm thinking your unit has major offset in terms of AF... you probably need something like "-30" perhaps? which is why your left AF is 'in focus' while both the rest is out of focus?

i dont really use my left or outer focusing points. but when this issue raises i did tried mine. yes probably -30.

btw have u tried Live View Autofocusing? with LV AF, its gonna be super sharp.

that's how i know my middle point is not good enuf. with no AF fine tune, with -20 AF fine tune, both seems to hav misfocus probs, its better with the -20, but with LV AF, its damn sharp. we're talking middle points btw

sweat.gif
*
Yeap, LV focusing is my reference.

user posted image

See my left focus is consistently out with 3 tries, but ok with LV. The rest LV and AF shows pretty similar results.

That terrible bad on left AF  sweat.gif

Its only slight OOF, but due to the lens is 35mm f/1.4 it kinda amplified the severity. Oh well, hopefully Nikon Msia able to fix in a go and getting back before 22nd December.

fish in a fish pond....dunno how to clear that shine on the water surface
*
Middle of the bar --> what your camera thinks the exposure is 'good'. But then again, it can be fooled by different lighting condition especially in matrix mode, so take control and shoot exposure you want instead!

CPL will help for the reflection on water surface.

Imagine a 85mm f/1.4G with VR... how big would the barrel be? And maybe some technical issue which manufacturers aren't exactly able to do it...

More details? Heeee, bcz actually the theme park I am referring to is USS. U mean, before entering the theme park have to put inside locker? How much will it cost?
*
USS each ride have FOC locker for 30 minutes I think... except for Jurassic Park's wet ride, that one need to pay. *they sure know how to earn!*
