Oh? I heard that too but I don't know much about the "cross type AF point"....Enlighten me pls notworthy.gif

So this is the drawbacks of D90 body motor?  doh.gif cry.gif
*
Google cross type AF point, you will understand better. Basically a cross type will detect vertical and horizontal where else a non-cross type only detects either vertical or horizontal. Cross type is known to be more accurate and consistent when compared to non-cross type.

Good morning fellow Nikon sifus!
I kept on reading in spec sheets of dslrs that the ISO is extendible to perhaps say, 100 to 6400 (original is 200 to 3200)... I was wondering what that means?

Thanks in advance for your reply sifus!! notworthy.gif
*
200-3200 is what we call the "native ISO". Where else the "100" is actually Lo1.0 which is aided by the processor, sames goes with 6400 which should be hi1.0

hmm, waiting for event organizer Calvin Seak to confirm. I assume confirm KLCC 1-3pm right? , so its 1pm @ where?

Since its weekend, and noon, KLCC tend to be crowded, the best place for so many of us could be: (not in order)

1) Pelita, outside KLCC
2) Kinokuniya Coffee place
3) Starbucks
4) San Fransisco Coffee
5) Chinoz
6) Dome

Personally, Pelita and Kino the best

i shoot at 1/160s @ 17mm, shouldn't be a problem, i zoom in and see it is not motion blur for OOF, middle should be always the sharpest, but in this case i wonder why hmm.gif

i should have used my 35mm to take this
*
Unlikely for the corner to be 'blur' due to lens... why? you're on DX sensor... the little area used by DX won't affect that much like FX sensor + FX lens.

f/2.8 also can create bokeh's effect? drool.gif You are amazing, man! Can please tell me the settings you used to snap this photo? Thanks.
*
Aperture is not the only factor affecting bokeh. Distance to from sensor to focus plays a part too,

Thanks for your kind advices. notworthy.gif

By the way, peeps, I have just sent in my Nikon for repair at Nikon Centre, the one in Times Square due to an abnormal camera heating up issue during prolonged usage. The service desk lady told me the soonest possible date for collection is next two weeks!. By then, I am already back in S'pore. cry.gif

I told the lady over there that I need the unit urgently and she said she will try her best to fulfil my request.

Any peeps here know the average servicing duration in Nikon Centre?

Thanks.
*
Try calling frequently to speed things up laugh.gif they will probably put you on priority in that way.

QUOTE(bb100 @ Dec 25 2012, 11:22 PM)
But the problem is that they don't even know what is the cause of the heating up issue. sad.gif  I use for 5 minutes only...it's hot like mad, at the right hand grip there.

I bought the camera on 23 Dec. laugh.gif  Super unlucky, man!
*
My D800 will heat up on the grip side, and my both memory cards gets heated up too ._. That's when I do very fast shoots in RAW especially, if JPEG not a big issue.

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Dec 26 2012, 02:32 AM)
^ Saw it already and I see NO issue at all. So damn sharp through out the entire picture biggrin.gif

See for yourself (make sure you reset the zoom function in your browser ya tongue.gif )

CY why din get ultra wide Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8? too bad cant fix filter..
*
Price, weight and size! Not so practical, but I will admit I love the image quality.

QUOTE(amduser @ Dec 26 2012, 02:43 PM)
i heard 14-24mm got very bad distortion leh...

thanks for the picture, on behave of my friends biggrin.gif

same angle with one of my picture of them as well laugh.gif
*
14-24 is one of the best in terms of distortion, comparable to primes. This is why its called the king of UWA.

Which is why I prefer to pay more for the memory and go for higher grade ones! imagine in a job, whatever you've done gets corrupted, omg!
