What exactly is 'brenizer method'?
*
take a wide aperture lens, preferably longer focal length then 50. go to a nice scene with lots of variations in DOF. then proceed to shoot that entire scene 1 frame at a time. then combine all in photoshop biggrin.gif
what u get is bokeh'ed panorama. u can get equivalent to 24mm f0.4 depth if done correctly!!!

QUOTE(gnome @ Nov 27 2012, 11:54 AM)
The method of achieving this DOF on a wide scene by using multiple photo stiching (lol is that right?)

better just see the example

http://www.ryanbrenizer.com/category/brenizer-method/

some of the examples are pretty awesome biggrin.gif

EDIT: more sample from sigma 35mm F1.4 in the link below

http://dc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/review/...127_575328.html

paired with 5dmk3 thumbup.gif
*
ryan brenizer made this method famous! hence it being called brenizer method haha biggrin.gif

umm DX is x1.5 and FX is actual...is it saying that DX is better then FX if i use it to take picture for landscape? but for close range like food it will be blur?
*
it would require us to write a very long article to explain this to you, but basically DX and FX refers to sensor size in the camera body. the difference between FX and DX is just a google away. pls google crop sensor vs full frame snsor. and u will understand straight away biggrin.gif

I purposely edit the color like that.. haha ...added some yellow to it and adjusted the green hue. Was looking for nice tone to make it more outstanding.
Mostly I shoot raw always, then edit later. tongue.gif
*
raw is good, outstanding is good but be careful that u dont adjust so much till it becomes a different color. if its for personal use then by all means, make it yellow if u want biggrin.gif
tapi if customer pay u then better becareful wei, u might like it but they might not. just my two cents biggrin.gif peace!

Tip for photohunt, bring your smallest most compact Nikon camera would do... cause there's nothing 'photography' about it. Lots of walking definitely thus a light set up would be good. Something that could zoom easily so at times no need cross road to get the shot haha!
*
i have no compact camera except for my 3 year old iphone..

1/100 is the shutter speed right? but i notice that higher the shutter speed light seems deemer.
currently i will adjust my iso according condition just i try to maintain iso as low as possible
*
bro just try slowly to stop using lowest ISO possible. todays camera iso 1000 is more then fine. heck, even my d90 before can iso 1000 biggrin.gif
the bar that says -2 -1 0 +1 +2 in ur view finder is actually the built in light meter in ur camera, its purpose is to help u with ur gambar. it will tell u if the picture is to bright or just to dark in the sense negative being dark and positive being bright.
so before u snap that picture, take a look at that meter and adjust accordingly. ur aperture is already fixed so u cannot touch that, so mess around with ur shutterspeed/ISO. to avoid motion blur u need atleast 200/250 shutterspeed above since u dont have a flash and built-in-one is so-so only (its not useless, i still use it sometimes and it can be good.. sometimes biggrin.gif)

and dont worry about what is right or wrong, in photography there is none. its all up to u smile.gif

QUOTE(celciuz @ Dec 4 2012, 07:12 AM)
Which is why the AF module alignment etc is very critical for D800's 36MP sensor... I'm getting mixed results when hand held but when I shoot on tripod and with sufficient lighting, the left AF is always slightly back focused!

Going to try with a target chart today...without moving my target/camera left and right like I'm doing.

http://photokaz.com/2012/07/nikon-d800-con...ofocus-testing/

According to a blog... Nikon uses this kind of test chart for verification... guess its to check different positions of AF points?

http://hifivoice.files.wordpress.com/2012/...jpg?w=600&h=400
*
u dont want to send to nikon to fix the AF issue? i heard the problem was because of a miscalculation/miscalibration of the software... if its true then whatever we do at home wont be the same as whatever nikon has in their factory right?

D700 was launched with price tag 7k+
Cheaper ? doh.gif
*
wasnt it more towards 8k?

Added on December 5, 2012, 10:52 amI think Nikon will never ever make another d700 type body since we all know what happen to D3 right? at the end of the day, profits still matter no?

but im still hoping they make a d800s, sort of like a baby d4 but i think pigs will fly when that happens. doesnt hurt to hope though haha smile.gif

buy whatever is available now, technology changes too damn fast man. whatever is state-of-the-art today can be obsolete tmr.
so yes, its a good time to buy a d7000

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Dec 5 2012, 11:53 AM)
yes i did, it needed -20 on my 50mm 1.8G, (n still is not that sharp..im thinking it needed more than that), my 14-24 is also affected n needed -10, and we're talking all middle points. guess my copy is that bad huh? having to change lens and change on the micro adjustments sucks big time. not only that, when im using the fifty, subject further than 1m/2m away seems to be in focus without micro adjustments. sometimes that is! warghhhh

having the super resolution might be an advantage as i post some pics on my fb - resize it and the misfocus is not so visible. but knowing the fact that its not properly focused really bothers me alot sad.gif
i think not 6 months, maybe one really needs to wait..maybe a year or so? buying a 2-year-old D3s/D700 body now sometimes will get u no problems. i have bought 3 x D700, 2 x D3, 2 x D3s, and ALL of them seems to have perfect focusing, no other problems. (not mine ah, this all help fren buy tongue.gif)

and i've bought a D600 and a D800 brand new..both of em got probs sad.gif

eh bro, i thot D700 came out with the price range of RM6.8k~7.2k? why cheaper than the D600? correct me if im wrong ya smile.gif
haha good point! thumbup.gif

nikon got their equipments in line real good now. if u want the D4 sensor, then u have to buy the D4. if the D800 is too much and the D600 is flawed...guess one will hav to opt the D700 for a cheap FF solution then laugh.gif
*
but but.. i want video capabilities icon_question.gif

but i would like to know the different between them.  smile.gif

D = got aperture ring at the lens mount. cannot be used on d5200/d3200. classic lens
G = gilded lens, no aperture ring at mount. can be used on any dslr

in terms of image quality, u can checkout flickr groups or google.

aiks.. i tot G can be used will those entry level dslr as well?
the main diff is prolly price tongue.gif D lenses have no AF motor, you'll need dslr that have AF motor on the body, in this case D7K is one of them. entry level model, D3100,3200,5000 all that doesn't have motor build in body, so they need lenses that have motor in them, can be identified by AF-S word on the lens. AF/AF-S all also D7K can use. i never tested both lens, as i only have the D version. anyway from what i know image quality don't differ much, maybe AF speed and noise the G lenses is better.
*
eh sorry, i salah type information. G can be used on all the current dslrs since it has a built in AF motor inside the lens.
