umm...seems like i still have a long way to be a photographer cry.gif
yea, and i read an article on web by ken rockwell. He say nikon 70 -200 is so impressive lol
*
the gist of it, a lens that has constant aperture like f2.8 will always be more expensive then variable aperture like f3.5-5.6

but also got beza in terms of how many elements (the glass inside) it has, built quality, weather sealing, nano coat etc
example is nikon 24mm 2.8D is around rm1400. but Nikon 24mm F1.4 is RM6k+

confusing at first lah cos alot of info to absorb. give it abit more time then it wouldnt be a problem edi, only problem is the creative side smile.gif technical side can kowtim

sb700 is a good flash for first time users. very simple to use since all the buttons are on the flash itself.

sb900/910 are very big very powerful flashes. alot more tech inside also

essentially both are still flashes, buy according to what u need and ur budget. if u google pun all u will get are the specs list, i suggest s ticking to a sb700, more then enuff for u.

Imagine a 85mm f/1.4G with VR... how big would the barrel be? And maybe some technical issue which manufacturers aren't exactly able to do it...
*
barrel as thick as car exhaust? haha

Got my D600 2 days ago. It seems to have this problem http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3290303

Shutter count at 196, no dust as yet.

Bought mine from Foto Miami, any idea if they allow 7 days exchange?
*
they said the dust stops appearing when u hit 3k pictures.
atleast, thats what most people say. why not wait and see first?

He must have shot in RAW format, ehh? Can JPEG produce such qualities?
*
jpeg/raw differences is during editing, like if its too bright, RAW can recover back more details then JPEG.

in terms of IQ, its still the same. if u take 1 scene using raw & jpeg at neutral setting then it will look exactly the same
think of raw/jpeg as a piece of meat. raw is raw meat, jpeg is cooked meat. but essentially both are still the same piece of meat. the only difference is how it was processed

Fulamak!!! Your raw meat vs cooked meat analogy really  thumbup.gif man! I salute you.

Usually after shooting in RAW, how do we process the files? By using Photoshop? Can any gurus here enlighten me a bit? blush.gif
*
haha thank you icon_idea.gif

I do my proccessing in LR4 and only use CS6 when doing other stuff just for fun.
u import into LR4, edit to ur liking, then convert to jpeg lah. RAW is fun if u enjoy editing ur pics cos u can cook it how u want it. but if u dont want to edit every single picture everytime u snap pics then just stick to jpeg. less editing and more shooting.

More details? Heeee, bcz actually the theme park I am referring to is USS. U mean, before entering the theme park have to put inside locker? How much will it cost?
*
it will cost u by the hour if im not mistaken, but it is safe provided u remember u password since its all digital. can fit quite a few stuff inside also and the lockers are available at almost every ride so u dont have to worry about finding one. just worry if got empty lockers or not. my friend baru balek from USS, she said got alot of people and she went on a monday

bounce ur iso lah calvin!! D4 can go 12800 and still clean what.... if i was usiing that thing i would never touch my flash drool.gif

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Dec 16 2012, 11:17 AM)
i'd say i'd prefer without flash smile.gif like CY's pics - large/wide open aperture, no flash laugh.gif

just my 2 cents  icon_idea.gif
*
i like flash only if its indirect eg. bounced or something. direct flash has this weird color IMO

Basically that is the way to detect back focusing? the left with blur photo is the problematic focusing right when you shift your point to the left...

I read there is some software recommended in a few pages before this....what is that for?
*
no back focus is different. that one u google and u will see picture and u terus paham. see the picture is faster to understand smile.gif

d800 left AF Issue is a matter of software calibration with the AF. if focus on left point using viewfinder it will be blur, but if use live view it will be sharp.

Selling only the 17-50 is not enough to buy both prime woo...some more the 85 on d7000 is so narrow, u want to shoot head photo only?
*
true this. if ur looking for a headshot only lens then this is a good option.. to the guy who asked, why not 35 & 50 ? also, ask urself do u really want to keep switching lenses? if u think later on u will malas then just stick to the 1750.

yes its bokeh, more accurately, its distracting bokeh... why? because its distracting lah, point of focus is the cake but u can clearly see the person behind the cake smiling. so its distracting biggrin.gif

Sure sure, let's arrange. Anyone else interested?
Google cross type AF point, you will understand better. Basically a cross type will detect vertical and horizontal where else a non-cross type only detects either vertical or horizontal. Cross type is known to be more accurate and consistent when compared to non-cross type.
