QUOTE(craxors @ Dec 24 2012, 05:41 PM)
what connector?
*

if i'm not mistaken.. one of a connector wire from vehicle sensing speed sensor to the ECU module was
not securely fastened..
they say that will affect torque sensor too thus giving irrelevant steering weightiness..

I don't know what they meant.. so I assumed some connector for torque sensor was not properly installed.. unsure.gif

Same problem happened to my Vios before,.. defective torque sensor.. low speed maneuver quite heavy compare
with EPS system on new Corolla Altis.. and my Vios last time intermittently makes "stomach grumble/hungry" noises from
the steering airbag cover.. sweat.gif

My Forte started to have a penyakit already, not even reaching 1 year old. Having problem with "engine sign" yellow light on at dashboard.. and this time is 2nd time..

1st time happened at Glenmarie area while driving where all of sudden "check engine" light comes on last Saturday. Immediately drove to Glenmarie 3S before they're closing at 5.15pm. Found out that brake sensor clogged with water (???) and they managed to fixed it with yellow light engine sign off.

And then yesterday night (no rain, road completely dry) at Glenmarie again, same road.. the engine light comes on again.. !! And Xmas day all SC are closed.. Damn.. I haven't come across with any problematic car before such as this.. even my Waja last time don't have any engine and chassis reliability issues before.. haizzz

Your car still can moving as normal. right?

I think that is good feature that it warns you. Your waja never warned you.
*

can move but I could feel paranoid and nervous when driving with that sign ON in front of my face..
you'll never know engine could completely shutdown all of sudden and stuck in the middle of busy road when driving
a lil bit further.. plus, this shouldn't be happening on relatively new car.. and it's happening for 2nd time..

I feel you bro..it's quite a nerve wrecking episode to go through. I hope your SA/SC will be able to get it fixed for you soon and also I hope that it'll just be something minor, such as a sensor connector.

Do please keep us updated with your situation as well..

the answer by tomorrow tentatively.. haizzzzzzzzzzzzzz.. I am car-less now.. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

My Forte need to stay at the SC for minimum 3 days due to multiple transmission wiring error..
They need to get further technician support where they are temporarily at outstation.. need to wait
the "specialists" to return to troubleshoot the problems..

Now I am really really CAR-LESS.. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

QUOTE(dvinez @ Dec 26 2012, 04:44 PM)
did they explain what is multiple transmission wiring error bro?

human error or machine error?
*

i asked my Service Advisor (Malay Lady)..
"what do you mean by transmission ? is it gear ratio not correct ? gearbox ?"

she couldn't explained to me clearly by answering me "transmission.. its the transmission wiring got a
lot error readings from the computer diagnosis, we need the sub-specialists support for transmission matters to assist
with the problems and troubleshooting"..

Hence, myself also not clear what's really happening.. and I have to wait for 3 days coz they're still on holiday..
perhaps if they attempt to delay somemore, I should ask them firmly for a temporary car for me to drive

and this morning I went to SC Chan Sow Lin and then Setapak SC (where my car is being left there to check), not
many foremen and workers are working today.. still celebrating Boxing Day I guess..

what do you mean by underpower? the acceleration is worst than a vios/city or civic/lancer? thanks.

what's with "multiple transmission wiring error"? gearbox problem? what's the age of your car? thanks.
*

let me answer on behalf of Abang Bennedict.. underpower in terms of lack of torque and longer time
in 0-100kmph sprint.. Vios felt more peppy and stronger in performance.. Forte 1.6 felt slower in picking up
speed because of its larger size body and 150kg+ extra weight more than Vios..

regarding on my matter.. still waiting for their clear findings and explaination and ways to solve it.. my car is
just 9 months old.. service advisor was unable to gimme clear and specific definition of transmission error and where did
the problems exactly comes from..

setapak sc, lol. very very slow and noobish from what i feel.
u ask what they pandai pusing, lazy and not passionate for their job, somemore their service advisor is very noob and not helpful.

when i first got my car, sent there for an issue, they say confirm no problem lol. somehow kinrara sc solve it for me without much hassle and taichi.

recently quite busy, done my service at setapak sc since so near to my house, it is weekday and they take 2-3 freaking hour for a minor service.  vmad.gif

damn, i hope someone move those from kinrara to setapak. i dont hate them but this kind of service really memalukan.
*

lidat ar.. Chan Sow Lin SC recommends me to go Puchong kinrara SC this morning.. but I ended up at
Setapak SC since it's near my office, my colleague can fetch me from there conveniently.. laugh.gif

seems like I've made a wrong choice.. I also think Setapak SC is abit lansi and unprofessional on dealing with customers..
initially she said "you're walk-in customers, so your car have to stay overnight" without any sense of urgency.. btw I reached there
quite early at 9:30am,. People there, without any effort to work more efficiently she asked me to come back tomorrow just to know what's
the reason behind the "check engine" indicator light on..

SC CSL (nearby my home) also gone case wan.. everything also cannot check cannot solve since my very 1st time visit there..
next time shall visit Kinrara punya..

Forte ---- Vios
124ps --- 109ps
156nm -- 141nm
that extra 300kg really makes different? hmm.gif

after following this thread for a while, is it true that these are the common issues with forte (even if it's a brand new) ohmy.gif
1. rattling sound coming from dashboard if driving > 100km/j
2. weird sound from front door (either right or left)
3. knocking sound if driving slowly while air-cond is in used
4. standard tyre can't be 'harap'ed too much (noisy and bad grip)
5. front head light will get condensation after rain or wash etc

other than that are
1. some SC are lousy
2. spare parts are not cheap
3. fuel consumption is high but still acceptable
4. underpowered for 1.6?

no offence as i also booked a forte too... it is the best for its price, just not sure whether to proceed or not sad.gif
*
Vios and Forte.. Body size and weight affects the car performance.

FYI, Kia Sportage 2.0 166bhp makes 10.2secs from 0-100kmph.. Kia Sorento 2.4 abt 173bhp makes 0-100kmph at 11.5secs.. that's the difference

my car so far it's the lil bit pull left steering issue with a lil bit squeaky driver seat if really pay attn to it.. and now it's the transmission wiring failure thingy which the cause is unknown yet.. oh.. also occasionally reverse camera image blinking or blackout..

After 3 days my car in the SC.. My faith on Naza Kia's after sales service is getting down to the drain.. cry.gif
was called up Kia service Setapak to follow up on my car repair status today..
SA said 10:30am "tengah bikin ni.. repairing repairing.. let me check with the technician nnti i inform u"

11:30am ..........
12:30pm ..........

2:30pm ..........
3:30pm ........... "Encik kereta u we're waiting for technician from outside on the way to our SC to check
on your car.. will let you know the outcome from that technician soon"

4:15pm .........
4:45pm called back SC "sorry Cik Hafizah takde kat tempat dia.. tunggu sekejap ya I hold the line.. (music.. 5 mins.. 10 mins)
5:15pm call back again.. NO ONE ANSWERING PHONE..

OK Naza Kia Setapak.. enough of your lousy turn around stories.. you've no heart to repair or don't know how to repair my car
JUST ADMIT IT. Your efficiency and product knowledge is so suck, people like this confirmed never trained before working
at Service Center. I am sorry but I think that Proton's after sales service considered much better than you Naza Kia.

I wanna puke on your passion-less service quality, hesitant dependability and imbalance QC of your product. For sure I won't feel confident for any outstation
trips with my Forte this time.. given them 3 days for troubleshooting and decipher my "check engine" light litted problems pun tak reti..
still dare to run business at Service Center..
I had enough.. !!! vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Kia Forte will be my last and the only Kia I will own currently. Looking for a new ride soon. Planning to book a Honda CR-Z next year
after Chinese New Year.. any other better suggestions ?

Bear,
Why not you try other SC? Even good brand car like Ford, or Volkswagen also have lousy SC. I am sorry to heard about your case. But we cannot said all KIA SC are no good. I suggest you try other good SC. Anyone, please recommend good SC to Ah_bear.
*

Tomorrow morning myself together with my senior colleague will visit that SC "chung seong moon"..
Looking at face to face, ask her to explain everything..

If their answers doesn't satisfy me, I will drive my car off to Puchong Kinrara SC right away..

I've been to Ford SC beside Federal Highway to service my bro's Focus, n00bish speed of service but hey at least they'll
get things all done nicely by all customer's request with flawless works and problem free..

This Kia SC.. ? find the source of problem also took 3 days.. also couldn't explained to me consistently and logically..
everyday, every hour different explanation.. HEY KIA, FYI, MY TRUST ON YOU IS NO MORE..

Head to Kinrara branch... Good technicians..
*

I appreciate your suggestion. But hor.. at this moment I need a well known reliability, solid built
car with cheaper to buy and pocket friendly to maintain for my everyday errands. A car which I can easily
afford to pay 70% D/P cash.. and remaining loan 3 years.

French made car to me still brings a big question to me with its long term durable and reliability.
Peugeot famous with its poorly built internal construction (easily overheat, problematic engines, rattling noise),
non-thoughtfully cabin design for convenience and ergonomics.

On the other hand, I do not wish to have another Toyota anymore, previously owned Vios.. (for its good FC)
ended up with poor driving pleasure and expensive price to pay car for such a basic and small-ish car.

I am wokay with shift stick.. I wish I have 200k to spend for Toyota 86.. (86 also my birth year weh.. LOL)

I think your problem is quite rare case. That's why they need more time to investigate. Anyway, I hope you will find the good SC to solve the problem. You must find a good SC. I have SC close to my home, but the sales agent asked me drive to good SC that is 50km far from my home.
*
Visited that Setapak SC this morning. They have repaired all the faults connection towards ECU via computer and replaced a new ECU. Engine light indicator is now gone. According to SA, technicians will resume their work on next Monday to do thorough check of the whole car and road test before they can release the car to me earliest on next Wednesday. Since I have a 2nd car to drive now, I think I should let that SC more time to do their work without pushing them so hard.

Hoping that Setapak SC they know what they are doing.. no more going there again..

If u ask this in Kia Forte thread, the answer will surely bias towards Kia  tongue.gif

Did u know bro cybermaster98? very well known in this LYN Korean car threads & also in Paultan blog. Last time, he is the one who heavily criticized Korean cars (Forte in this case) & the Nazakia SC. He keep emphasizing on how reliable his Toyota Vios is & how well Toyota SC is performing, cheaper spare parts..bla..bla..bla. But in the end, truth be told, he bought himself the new Kia Optima K5  tongue.gif I dont know how he got that inspirational to buy a Kia car  whistling.gif
*

Yea read through all the comments from that felle in PT blog.. all the time he was talking about Toyota's high resale value
and how well his Toyota Vios performed ie: peppy acceleration, solid sound and thud closing doors, smooth shifting gears blablabla..

did he mentioned that he bought himself a new K5.. ?? well I was a Vios Trd Sportivo owner too before current Forte 2.0..
and I never brag about the Toyota before.. demm basic car, noisy, crampy space and cheapo driving experience.. while on the road the
Vios never earned any stares or turning heads for 2 and a half years.. but Forte does.. at least once in a day biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

But anyway, i recalled the cyber fella's bashing a few years ago. So now he's owning K5? wow, good for him. But i guess the torch has been passed to another fella in PT blog, RV issues continues....
*

Bro, your's white kaler.. ? I'm always have this problem too.. birds always
like to target poo poo on my car front and rear bonnet rather than a Gold colour Estima beside my car..
even cats from other people houses do like to sleep underneath my car engine area too but not other cars around..

for the first time ever, Kia is the only brand with all the model line-ups which leaves me desire to look at it and own it..
Sportage and Forte 2.0 was in my list.. finally I've chosen the Forte.. but it might be the last and only one..
unless Naza Kia manage to seriously improve on their staff product knowledge, dependability, friendliness and work
efficiency at all showrooms and official service center branches. The way they handled their customers including myself
doesn't give me confidence. They've no heart to listen to customer's explanation on what went wrong with the vehicle, it
seems that they just wanna do regular car service and then drive-off. Long way to go to reach top-notch customer's service
and satisfaction when servicing a Toyota at their Service Center..

It has few common minor problem for certain user. See if you are lucky enough

1. Rattling dashboard
2. steering pull left

Both need to get SC fix it after you get the car. I managed to fix problem number 2. But number 1 still happen to my car. These consider very minor issue.

*

I have rattling sound from power outlet at USB / AUX area.. at first I thought SC Setapak (in KL) is good to my first impression..
when comes to my 2nd car service, their attitude is getting worse.. not so attentive to customers already, problem solving ability wise = NONE

I will try and ask Puchong Kinrara SC on my 20k km service to assist with the rattling noise at power outlet area.. it happens when my car is
on "D "or "R" with brake applied.. also above 100kmph to 150kmph can hear constant minor metal hit metal sound "zzzzzzzzzzzzz" beneath
the front passenger seat.. anyone has these problems like mine.. ?

awhile ago my follow up call

Me: How's my car cik ?
SA: If I say your car not OK macam mana ??
Me: What do you mean ?
SA: At this moment we tested, indicator doesn't come on. You'll have to test the car for few more days.
Come and collect the car later.
Me: OK Thank you (hanged up)

Me: *Confidence level -100%* .. Where does your product knowledge goes to ?
Sendiri repair sendiri tak sure whether problem gone or not ??

Guys, how does the Naza Kia SC at Kinrara serves their customers ??
