I'm looking to let go my one year old NEX5N for 5R, which is still under warranty until 06 May 2013. I have the twin lens set (pancake and kit zoom lens) I'm okay to let go both lens or single lens. Camera is in good condition and I barely used the pancake lens :-D

honestly speaking... i tested on nex lens lineup... don't have any single lens can satisfied the hunger of 24.3mpx except the SEL24F18CZ...
at normal size you wont see the difference, zoom in and you will shock with the result... the upcoming 35F18 and 1018F4 still not sure about the result...

but if really want to go for 7, zeiss lens is a must... else get some manual focus prime...

Anyone tried Canon L lenses with NEX before?

I tried my 70200 f2.8l and 1635 f2.8l.The weight and handling is ridiculous.Almost can feel lens can snap from adaptor.
Unless it's mounted on leg but then might as well use back dslr.

I feel that nowdays with network connected cameras, your actual photographic skills and tools will be tested more. This morning i attended a friends Marriage registration (ROM), gave NEX-6 a real life use and realized this.

Even before I could review the pics myself, others we already asking to share the photos, and taking out their mobile devices to transfer the pictures from Nex.So, In situations like this where the population is so used to phone cams, filters and instant uploads, you'd better get the pictures straight from the cam because nowdays, people don't like to wait and there's no where to hide.

By the way, The PZ1650 does make a slight Whirring noise when zooming. I could hear it when I reviewed the video back home. Reduce Wind Noise option was on. There seems to be a bug with NEX-6 Hanging, or menu buttons are frozen when deleting images (jpg+raw). I experienced this twice today. Apart from that, there was also instances where the Zoom lens didn't retract after i power off.

Well, I would like a feature/function to power off without retracting, so that it can save power and have a quicker startup. Hope Sony can enhance it... like pressing AEL+power off will turn off the power but Zoom lens remains extended, then when you power on again you can shoot instantly.

But seriously, do we need class 10 for Nex 6? Which is better? Memory Stick or SD Card?

If you need take a lot shutter speed photo then take class 10 or better memory card
If no just take class 4 is more than enough

Normally big lens on native dslr body don't need manual focus right?
Granted my 70200 and 1635 weights like a brick like most fast L lens.

ms is better but expensive. if u take a lot of continuous shots, get the sandisk extreme 45mb/s. superb.

you should ask the salesman for package a dont want sd card how much. 8gb may not be enough esp if u are planning to take 1080 50p video. i'm using sandisk extreme 32gb. less than rm100 bought from best bargain at sim lim square singapore.

Yes, I'm aware memory stick are expensives, so SD card are definitely the more economical option.
