QUOTE(rachel_xxx @ Apr 6 2013, 05:16 PM)
hey guys, is it F3 has better ISO than 3N?

what is the use of viewfinder?

Thanks. Noob here
*
1. I'd say F3 and 3N have the same ISO levels. Don't bother too much about ISO 16k, 25k, as it's more to marketing hype. I think seriously, we'd probably go up to a comfortable maximum of iso3200.

3N F3 sensor comparison.

2. Viewfinder, so that you won't be shooting blind in bright sunlight. When u place the camera to your face, it's considered a 3rd point of contact to your body and that helps to stabilize the camera even more. Perhaps..it's handy when you don't want others to peek at what you just snapped brows.gif .

QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Apr 6 2013, 07:56 PM)
Haha thanks for your input bro  laugh.gif

Initially I was in dilemma to choose D3200 versus Sony Nex 5r lol, but eventually feel that dslr is kinda bulky and inconvenience at times  sweat.gif

Im aware of the viewfinder matter, that's what made me consider about Nex6 cuz it has its own viewfinder and flash right?
Hmmm if opting for Nex 7 I might need to save again for few months  sweat.gif

Fresh graduate that being jobless really tough Orz
*
D3200 has 24 good megapixels, better for cropping out parts of your pic. It also has a built in microphone input, intervalometer and arguably more native AF + exif data lenses to choose from and longer battery life. NEX-6 is smaller/lighter but you will use more menu's , it has an electronic viewfinder EVF that shows you the result in REALTIME which is a BIG advantage, manual focus peaking, a 'standard' hotshoe, the flip screen let's you take waist level shots so easily (ok but.. D5100 D5200 EOS650D also has this) , wifi and downloadable apps. To me, you can't go wrong with either one as with good skills both will give you excellent pictures.

Canon also just introduced it's world smallest DSLR the SL1, which narrows down the size advantage held by mirrorless cameras.

QUOTE(ChinWY @ Apr 6 2013, 09:23 PM)
No worries, I find DSLR intimidating. I also cycle tour so the NEX is just the right size.  I am on the other end of the job scale, retired and depleting income.  I could be wrong but the 6 LCD is fix mount vs 5.  That kind of negate the purpose.

I am happy with my 5N and is a very good camera.  There is no urge for me to go for any upgrade.  I dont shoot flash so an EVF (on the way) is more for my failing eyesight when using my B & L Rectilinear lens (very soft image and peaking will always get it wrong vmad.gif ) and macro in under our bright sunshine in the open.   5N is also going cheap rclxms.gif  - worth considering unless you need the WiFi linkup and widgets.  I shoot full manual most of the time so it says it all.  When you make your millions whistling.gif  you can always convert the body to IR capable by removing the hot glass (very easily done)!
*
NEx-6 LCD is also articulated and can flip up and down to a certain degree. I ride a roadie and yes thumbup.gif , NEX is a nice size to have in the waterbag backpack and I have taken it along for a few rides.

NEX-7N is coming..

Also, unconfirmed rumor has it that, Sony will fix the NEX-6 +SELP1650 'Back focus' issue in an upcoming firmware. If this is true, it's great news!!

QUOTE(petrofsky77 @ Apr 11 2013, 02:57 PM)
I have a question : Say that i have a A-Mount to E-Mount adapter, fixed to a NEX camera, and then i installed a 2x TC on top of it, and then install an Alpha lens on top of the TC, will the autofocus works?
*
maybe this will help: dpreview similar query

Otherwise, if anyone's attending a NEX workshop soon, can help to ask the instructor to get the teleconverter and A lens to test it out?? Well, during workshops Sony has been kind enough to lend us A / E bodies or lenses to use during the workshop period.

Hey guys,

Got a 5R. Went wifi wanted to download those apps but couldnt login. Login on desktop web is fine.

Is it the application not available for malaysia?
*
Hmm... not at the moment.
Playmemoriescameraapps regions

For now, I'm using the same Japan PSN id on the PS3 for the NEX-6. So if you are an existing PS3 player then u probably can do the same.

QUOTE(babycherie @ Apr 24 2013, 04:32 PM)
Hi guys
I am not interested playing camera as hobbies..I know many people like to snap photo all around even bring it like a baby. but my purpose using camera when going travelling or some special event or big day.

Today I come across a a few type DSLR/mirrorless Entry Level Camera. My budget around Rm1000-Rm2000

i am Dilemma between this 2 model

1) sony nex 5nk Rm1999
2) sony nex F3  Rm1400

which i saw in court mammoth today.having a camera fair..can up for installment for 24 month.

what else.you guys advise.

I'm just a newbie ,but I like to take picture, play with manual mode but don't want to bring a bulky complicated.
*
If I were a girl, i would pick F3 out of the two. BUT... there is the new model 3N. With an even slimmer kit lens it fits better in the handbag and this would be my pick. For roughly RM1600 to 1700, take the NEX-3N wub.gif .

1. The screen that can flip to the front. Perfect for Selca/Selfie/Self capture shots.
2. Built in flash, so you don't need to also carry that screw on flash of 5N
3. Not sure if girls buy pink colored cameras?? Would you??

1. An interesting read. This guy dumps a full frame D800 in favor of a NEX-7.
the-china-experiment-dumping-nikon-for-sony

2. icon_question.gif Could someone tryout the DSLR remote app on Android/Google play store OR Apple store with their NEX?? I think it is possible that some free app must be in the market now, which will allow you to remote trigger or TIME LAPSE via mobile phone IR port. Please post your experiment results here wink.gif and I'll gladly put it up on the 1st page for future reference. Thanks notworthy.gif !!

p.s. my current phone doesn't have IR port sadly, so I can't do this. But really itching to try this.. now looking for a micro UBS IR adapter i can plug into my phone. if you know any , do let me know.

one question to all nex owners.

how much we need of use EVF on nex 6 rather than non-EVF on nex5/nex3 ??

*sori kalau broken english sleep.gif
*
Mostly I use it when under bright sunlight,
or when I really need to be stable on the shot with slower shutter since we have the 3rd contact point of the camera on the face.

QUOTE(esmonde @ Jun 27 2013, 11:42 PM)
Hello Everyone,

I have a NEX 5, since last December, it started to have problem, after half way using it, the aperture suddenly turned F-- and have to turn off and on it back only I am able to use.

1 or 2 months later, the problem starts more frequently and I sent for warranty. After warranty, the camera seems to be working fine and I don't really use it. Until last month when I started to use, the problems seems to come back again.

The problem is, it is intermittent and it don't happen all the time. My warranty is going to end in July.

So, if I bring my camera to Sony Centre, will they really entertain me regarding this problem as I can't really show them on the spot.

Thank you.
*
Still under warranty, yes they will take your camera in to check and fix.

Could you try different e-mount lenses to see if the issue still happens?? Perhaps the issue is on the lens and not the camera body. Try also to clean the gold color contact points on both lens and body, see if that works.

QUOTE(kokanchai @ Jun 28 2013, 02:36 PM)
hello Sony NEX Fans

can someone advise me

i decide to get a SONY NEX Series Camera.

Compare Between Sony NEX F3 and Sony NEX 3N

i do a comparison.

http://camerarocket.com/cameras/Sony-NEX-F...ny-Alpha-NEX-3N

it seem the NEX F3 Responsiveness and Resolution are much higher than 3N

but the price 3N is expesive than F3

i am kinda dilemma..how come

And F3 series not longer produce
*
i think I would go for F3 if I find a new one with warranty.
