QUOTE(areankim @ Aug 12 2013, 04:07 PM) oh yea.. hehe you are right. Until now, ive tested like 6 types of rom...All gives the same result when it comes to heat...Every kernel..werewolf rom smooth, but battery is not good. and very very heaty after 15mins surfing. Except now im using Iodak v06, ive undervolt most of the frequency above the LP core...Heat is reduced... But werewolf rom looks nice wei with that blueish UI.. |

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Aug 12 2013, 04:02 PM) Bro, mind to tell me which version (latest now is V1.3, just updated few days ago) you are using? I thought this tool only suitable to be used for version EUR-xxx? Mine just updated to JB and the version is P88020a-ESA-xxx.BTW, as mentioned, I've updated my phone to JB yesterday. I still not plugging my sim card and using the phone as per my ICS system few days ago. However, I observe one big different is the battery drain is very fast in JB. Yesterday after updated the os, my phone battery still 70%+, but this morning already drop to 35% only. As compare to ICS, with the same condition it only drop <5% only. Is it normal? |

Mine just updated to JB and the version is P88020a-ESA-xxx. Thats a common issue with JB update...Battery drain is such a mindfcuk...Thats why we need that so custom rom or custom kernels...BTW, as mentioned, I've updated my phone to JB yesterday. So, sounds like the battery drain is common for JB on our phone, never thought the upgrade is becoming more worse on battery.
If maintain the stock JB rom, with just iodak kernel will improve it? BTW, I see that for the one click tool mentioned jsut now, the latest version is V1.3, which it stated the feature as below : •Added Requirement Window (Phone Has To Be On Android 4.1.2 Or Above) •Changed Rooting Method [As The "adb reboot recovey" Command Is Only Possible With An Insecure (/Unsecure) Boot Image] •Updated TWRP (Now Version 2.6.0.0) •Updated Optimus Prime Kernel (Now v 2.53) May I know is this tool also inclusive the flashing of optimus prime kernel? What if I want to use iodak one? |

No its not...Flashing of kernel or roms require Recovery mode, which is between TWRP/CWM that you need to bake in your phone after successfully unlock your bootloader...If maintain the stock JB rom, with just iodak kernel will improve it? Rooting doesnt require an unlocked bootloader...You can just easily exploit the binary to get root access...Which is can be done easily and automatically by the program that you mention... 2.) Recovery is just like SafeMode in windows platform...In android system, were getting the common recovery mode from developers which is, lack of access and usage, like Flashing zip files/nandroid backup/restore, fix permission..This is where the CWM(clockworkmode) Recovery/TWRP(TeamWinRecoveryProject) Recovery came in..They build a custom coded recovery mode that consists of much more function... 3.) Well, about bootloader i dont think i need to explain it..Its the first to run when you power up your devices...It package a command line to be executed once our phone is turned on...Same like BOOTMGR(boot manager) in windows 7 system...If your bootloader is locked, it means that it will just stick with a command to execute the stock/factory set"ed system that comes with it, even if you managed to install a custom rom without unlocking the BL, the BL will not identify your newly installed rom as it is locked generally... Above is the basic understanding about Rooting/Bootloaders/Recovery...Its not an accurate, actual explanation but it will help you get the basic picture...Hope it helps... QUOTE(kw @ Aug 12 2013, 09:57 PM) Ok, I've downloaded the one click tool, ver 1.2. Here's the menu of the selection : May I know do I need to install all? On option 9, kernel and rom selection. It only has iodak v7 available, no v6. How can I add in? QUOTE(kw @ Aug 12 2013, 10:12 PM) I think I stuck at the very first step, rooting. Hurmm..Seems like the new release toolkit is not user friendly....Download the v1.0.1 as it comes with Iodak v06...I use the one click option 1 for Root function. After few click my phone restart within sec, however I don't see the superuser icon in the app folder, think still not rooted, right? May I know how to check whether is my phone rooted or not? First when you open up the toolkit, you need to install an ADB driver in your pc first...First menu appears an option to install the ADB driver...After that you can proceed with rooting... Once you click the Root option, turn off your phone, turn it back on by pressing VolumeUp+Power button(keep press) until you enter the Recovery Mode...Once in recovery mode, select an option with Slidload in it (cant remember the fullname of the option but contain "slidload"), then go to your pc, press any key with the toolkit, and it will automatically proceed the root method... Im talking based on v1.0.1 toolkit...below is the link from XDA... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Yup, actually the first think it prompt me is the ADB install, but I also has the newer version 3.10 installed earlier, that's why I've skipped it.
So, after select Root option, need to press the vol up + power button, I never do it and let it shut off and reboot itself (no instruction given in this tool). I'll try later with your propose method and see whether can enter recovery mode or not. |

Ic, will try to do it then
Btw, want to ask something, I notice that during phone charging, there's no led indication, is it normal? I used to use Sony phone and it has a dedicated led for all notification or charging indication, but didn't notice on our phone. |
