QUOTE(kw @ Jul 29 2013, 09:27 PM) About the camera quality, is it really that bad? Especially the auto focus issue? JB update V20x already improved the camera quality but not that much...I read on xda that the JB update should have improved it. But i found that each time snapping picture with camera, using the HDR function will capture the best image Auto focus issue? Mine is working fine |

QUOTE(kw @ Jul 29 2013, 11:05 PM) I find that phonearena did a comparison between O4X vs SGS3 : Cant help it, thats the weak point of LG product, its developers didnt concentrate much on that...I mean LG Dev...http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/LG-Optim...I_id3060/page/3 If you look at the video comparison towards the end of the clip, you can see the O4X can't focus well on the S3 phone. But its not that bad...I like the HDR functions |

QUOTE(kw @ Jul 29 2013, 11:36 PM) Ai....that's why it's triggering my dilemma again of chosing between this or Sony xperia v since good camera is one of my main criteria too. If you care about camera shot quality, O4X cant promise you a 100% quality shots, but it does give you performance...Sony phone, yes, the camera shot quality is amazing...I dare to say this as i am too from Sony Xperia Ion LT28h, camera is just amazing...Sharp and precise |

QUOTE(kw @ Jul 30 2013, 09:32 AM) Great to know that you are also a Sony xperia user before. Generally how you rate the camera quality between O4X vs Ion? I mean sure not on the pixel since it's 8 vs 13MB, but how about the response, focus, capturing time (will Ion may take longer time to do shooting in 13MB quality photo, especially in multi tasking mode) and the real image quality? On the pixel count side, Ion win the fight for sure...Focusing will take much longer time especially in low light condition...Real image quality depends, on daylight/light source is maximum, you able to get a pretty decent and sharp picture, but low light is pretty hard to do that...Focusing time is a bit longer but its worth a shot with what you get later on.... QUOTE(ming0000 @ Jul 30 2013, 05:26 PM) Thats a big no, you can flash it from recovery mode or flash using Fastboot command...Still you need to be rooted and unlocked BL.... |

QUOTE(kw @ Jul 31 2013, 02:03 PM) Well, after thinking deeply again, think I'll make my decision to choose the xperia phone. Good..But also you can try LG Optimus G or G Pro...From various review stated that it does have decent camera..LG...hope will have chance to try it in future. QUOTE(ming0000 @ Jul 31 2013, 06:03 PM) Ive tested 3 roms already, JellyBeer, Revolt JB, Zaiben...All are CM10 based...Until now i still prefer RevoltJB due to performance, battery life, UI customization... But still all those CM10 based rom perform good with Optimus Prime kernel.... I dont like pure CM10 |

QUOTE(ming0000 @ Aug 1 2013, 01:44 AM) ha, pure CM10.1 have nothing UI and rubbish apps, so system run smooth and well. MIUI seems to have some stability problem and battery draining too...So i'll avoid it for now...MUIU V5 also base on CM10.1, u can try it too. I'd prefer more aokp rom than aosp...RevoltJB seems nice... My next rom maybe Zaiben, stock based rom, deodexed/zipaligned/de-bloated/highly optimized performance... |

QUOTE(kw @ Aug 1 2013, 06:33 PM) Hi bro waja, about the mentioned auto focus issue, is it still as bad as per this video link shown? JB upgrade(Official) do solved that and i can say it becomes better...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1rZF5k6aBU...be_gdata_player Is the JB upgrade or custom kernel or rom solve this issue? QUOTE(ming0000 @ Aug 2 2013, 03:03 AM) i'm looking forward the G2, maybe before Christmas can get it. I would use SetCPU apps, set on boot...Very handy apps...by the way, wanna try lower clock my O4X from 1.5ghz to 1.2 around, any apps suggest? Sometimes i'd use System Tuner Pro, directly push my setting into init.d...But use SetCPU easier |

QUOTE(kw @ Aug 2 2013, 09:48 AM) Thanks for your confirmation. I've seen the some video review about O4X lately and found that this phone really attracting me and the camera quality (put aside the auto focus issue) is not bad IMO. That's why if the auto focus issue already solved with JB, I would say well...I'm 50-50 again to reconsider this phone over xperia V. If it was like that...I prefer you go for JB, ive personally tested Xperia V and i'd say the camera is nice but in terms of performance, it is far behind O4X...BTW, even with official JB updated, the iodak custom kernel still functioning well with stock rom and improve the overall phone performance in term of speed, stable, smoothness, battery etc, right? Iodak custom kernel is the most stable kernel ive used with Stock rom...It even support undervolting of cores, thus give more battery juice throughout the day...I can say if u use stock kernel, your phone wont even last for 8 hours with data, but with Iodak kernel, damn, more than 14hours of battery, with data... Im now using Zaiben rom, it is Stock based JB(V20A) rom, fully debloated, injected with Iodak kernels...Damn nice and blazing fast... QUOTE(ming0000 @ Aug 2 2013, 05:48 PM) erm... google wallet dont know why got problem, cant use to buy. What do you mean by that? Cant understand using other ROM, what PC Suite use to connect pc? |

Yeah me too hoping the same thing...In my case, i need more performance, camera is just my 2nd/3rd option so no problem to me it is...
And to me its not that kind of bad, its just not perfect as Sony, and of course sony got ExmorRS sensor, that what makes them superb... |

QUOTE(areankim @ Aug 10 2013, 01:19 AM) There is no need for that...you can flash the zip file directly without going back to 4.1.2....it will workQUOTE(kw @ Aug 10 2013, 11:10 AM) So, you don't use custom kernel, especially the iodak version? On stock or on custom kernel, the heating problem is still there..Thought if on stock kernel and rom, the phone battery tend to drain & heat fast? What's your purpose of rooting it? Remove bloatware? If yes, mind to share which built in app safe to be removed? Its just that on stock, thermal protection limit have been increased to gives more space for performance.... You can visit General Discussiom section in XDA to find which apps can be safely removed.. If youre lazy to do that, just flash magic rom which is stock based with lots of bloatware removed and themed perfectly... |

QUOTE(kw @ Aug 10 2013, 12:21 PM) Huh...thought iodak kernel able to reduce heat thus the stability and smoothness? Anyway, think the heat only obvious when heavy gaming, right? Normal apps and web browsing should be fine, right? Stability and smoothness is not a problem...the problem now is our processor generate much more heat and even faster rate, in stock kernel, lg developers coded a safety feature called thermal protection limit...when our cpu & battery hits a certain limit, the kernel will lower down the working cpu frequency to reduce thermal heat being produced to protect the battery and motherboard itself...This protection gives us problem where there will be performance drop once cpu freq being limited...Well, will try upgrade to JB these fee days then only try the phone. btw, any recommended casing and screen protector? Still not getting any for my phone yet (also why I don't use it yet). I find it very hard to get this model accessories in normal phone shop, someone even quote me a nillkin case for >rm100 Nvidia default temp limit is 80°c, our stock kernel is 65°c if im not mistaken...in custom kernel, they disabled/tweak this features to avoid the cpu being reduced in freq... Its not that custom kernel reduced the heat generated...even if ure using custom kernel, when do browsing around 20min, cpu temp able to hit 55 degrees, nothing to worry as nvidia promised us that tegra 3 can withstand up to 85 degrees... About the casing and sp, i bought mine from lelong...rm15 for both...now no stock already |

QUOTE(kw @ Aug 10 2013, 01:23 PM) IC, so this sound like the nvidia issue, no wonder not much manufacturer using its chipset now. Wonder with casing put on will it help to feel less of the heat? Personally I'm not so prefer any casing since it's adding more weight and also spoil the nice look of our phone, if possible would like to just put on a bumper case to protect the 4 edges of the phone only, but not sure is such casing available for this model. If youre on ICS, just update to JB through OTA or LG PC suite...no need flash manually...once youre on JB...follow your number 2 sequence, unlocking bootloader is a must if you wanna go for custom rom and kernel...Btw, I've read through some Q&A section in xda forum and got some idea about basic rooting, unlock bootloader etc. Now let say I just want a custom iodak kernel on stock JB rom, is it what I need to do now as per below sequence : 1) update to stock JB using LG tool 2) root the phone 3) unlock bootloader (necessary) ? 4l flash custom kernel P/s: u which location in ipoh...? Im at manjoi |

QUOTE(kw @ Aug 10 2013, 02:15 PM) JB update can be done through OAT? My phone has been prompted for an update now, but it state only update to v10d/e, guess v10....still an ICS update, right? Btw, unlock downloader will void warranty, right? Very near liaoo...heheHa...Ha...my home town very close to yours, kg baru buntong Ohh if like that, then just proceed with flashtool...just directly go for V20c... Of course unlocking bootloader will void the warranty... There is a chance to RE-lock the bootloader, by re-rwrite to fuse command back to 0 value but that will locked ur bootloader permanently...at least that is what i find from my research for now... |
