On the subject of divers.. I got this annoying itch that may require scratching sooner or later.
What I really really wanted is a 1960's Seamaster 300 but figured that it won't be practical Alternatively... a CWC Royal Navy diver seems to fit the bill (tritium (really?) and fixed lug bars ![]() Then came across this Kronos sterile "homage" (also read up about it at the above blog). I like the look and its cheap at ~RM300. What do you guys think? http://www.horologycrazy.com/2009/10/krono...m-military.html ![]() ps: the kronos is not real tritium despite the marking. pics borrowed from the internet. QUOTE(h11g @ Nov 27 2012, 02:32 PM) but a lot seems to say that the sd sits higher on the wrist due to it being head heavy compared to the sub. What say you? Yes, thicker and heavier than Sub. I find it ok.New DDSD? No No |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Nov 27 2012, 01:13 PM) On the subject of divers.. I got this annoying itch that may require scratching sooner or later. Why not go for the CWC Automatic RN Diver instead? Silvermans do international shipping too. Cheaper than flying over there.. Alternatively... a CWC Royal Navy diver seems to fit the bill (tritium (really?) and fixed lug bars ![]() All watch manufacturers stopped using tritium+phosphor mixture in watches circa 1997. My tritium TAG-Heuer watch that will be exactly 20 years old next month still glows very faintly. CWC watches now have a circled L instead of a T. I'd be cautious buying one with a circled T without provenance. |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Nov 27 2012, 08:37 PM) You could inquire with them whether they could make custom watch with a dial without the circled L.Maybe it is a current UK Defense Watch Standard that you can check here: https://sts.defencegateway.mod.uk (Requires registration) |
