you realise that what you're saying that if you can get for below rm3k means its at least 45% off.

There's a movie missing from Bond 50: The Complete 22 Film Collection
Guess which movie was not included.....

QUOTE(Naka7a @ Nov 19 2012, 02:39 PM)
Updates from my missing tritiums.

Apparently the repairman from hang Thai lost some of my tritium. Hence he decided to not put it all into my watch. Lucky he admitted at last after kena grilling from the boss. Else they were actually implying that I was the one responsible, or the tritiums wasn't even there at the first place
*
Mind telling us the full story? How did you handled the situation and what's their solution and compensation for you?

It's expensive to replace the tritium tubes if you need to fork out of your own pocket.
Ball Watch Maintenance - Tritium Tubes

I estimate Mondaine to be the same...

Still available but with an SRP of RM1810 here, it is out of his budget unless he can get a good discount. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the recommendation.. any ideas where i can find it around pj/kl for less than rm1k?

The watch sounds awesome.. if it only cost rm900 now.. sigh...
*
Just go to any Seiko authorized dealer. Most carry the Premier line. Retail is around 1.3K. As for discounts, ask nicely.

QUOTE(awan @ Nov 20 2012, 07:11 PM)
how u guys think about this Victorinox Night Vision 2012??retail price at Rm2465...dunno how much can get dicount...isit good watch to consider?
*
No. You are paying RM2K+ for a watch with a Ronda 705 (1 jewel) movement that sells roughly RM40.00 from online watch suppliers. That movement is most likely made here and costs less than RM8 from the factory.

Free tip:
If any watch is advertised with the following key words: tactical ops, special forces, SEAL, commando etc. Run away and leave this stuff to Mall Ninjas. wink.gif

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Nov 20 2012, 07:59 PM)
$2.4K retail for a quartz watch with a couple of LEDs from a brand that sells pocket knives?  hmm.gif

+1 My sentiments exactly.

Worth to buy ? I saw the price before discount is 8k plus

Watch Snob on TAG Heuer Aquaracer.

I think it's too expensive for a watch with an ETA movement.

If the Pelagos is any indication, the black bay should exude the same aura of desirability.

Anyway, for the Tag budget... there's soooo many other choice.

Like a LLD would be a much classier choice
*
"aura of desirability"? laugh.gif I agree that a value of a watch is subjective depending on the individual person. But to suggest an inanimate man made object can exude an "aura of desirability" is grandiloquent. You have been bombarded by too many Rolex and Tudor ads.

After all, one must look objectively when making a decision.

For the price range of a Tudor Pelagos (RM13K), one could go for a Longines Heritage Column Wheel Chronograph.

It won't look awkward when wearing the watch to an office.
Unless you are a professional diver, you won't look like a poseur. wink.gif

Still, if I were to get a professional diving watch, I'd go with either one of these rather than an over hyped ETA watch.

If one were to exercise objectivity when buying a timepiece, most of the luxury brands can close shop already. It's all about wants and desires.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well since watches can hardly be judged on function and good value alone, "aura of desirability" is as good a reason as any.  biggrin.gif

You can always say that the Tudor Pelagos has a certain je ne sais quoi that you find appealing. laugh.gif

What do you guys collect?

Counter it with something like: "You have only 2 feet.. how many pair of shoes can you wear?"
Next, give her the quote from Rocky II: "I never asked you to stop being a woman, so please don't ask me to stop being a man."

I essentially collect money and occasionally exchange it for stuff I want and not necessarily need. biggrin.gif

In the spirit of Cyber Monday sharing, ashford.com is having some pretty good online deals. Some models that caught my eye: Zenith EP pilot chrono, Eterna Soleure moonphase chrono (cheapest I've seen so far), plus a couple of Armand Nicolet and Perrelet watches.

Damn. I was tempted to get the SS bracelet black version of this Bulova Claremont.
