ya well, but it still looks shabby to me, u got OYW? share ur experience tongue.gif
u mean the engineering actually surpass zeta v2 shocking.gif
Gundam OYW has by far the most poseable frame even compared to latest MG Mk-II ver 2.0...
Also the nature of RX-78-2 armour makes the frame retain its high mobility even after the armours are put on unlike other models where once you put on the armour they restrict the movement of frame in big margin

Of coz OYW has its limitation as well - one being the use of the same leg frame from RX-78-2 Ver 1.5 kit. Sure the leg frame is amazing in terms of engineering but you still cannot turn the both legs with toe to toe as there is no joint in the upper leg where it goes to the pelvic joint. Sure you can mod an put the extra joint there but it's a lot of work mind you

And do achieve the high waist movement Bandai ditched the corefighter/coreblock and opted for the simple ball joint. While it's great in terms of mobility I still think they could've achieve the similar movement while still retaining the corefighter.

yet another WIP

Dodai

a full scratch 1/100 Dodai and Zaku II that will ride on it with the waist mod.
yet to decide the colour scheme of dodai... blue like dodaitwo or more realistic aircraft colour...

this will have do till I can find some more time to build the detail parts

p.s. RX-78-2 is for the scale comparison only

if you don't mind my constructive criticism...

first if you are not going to paint which is fine at least put the top coat to kill off that shine which makes the models look like toy

also try to finish the seam line more cleanly...
before you say you aren't going to paint and without painted the putty and all will look ugly have a look at this one.

(if not working try this link)

this is done without paint but seam line fix, top coat, pastel&crayon weathering/top coat... tongue.gif

keep up the good work! rclxms.gif

That's y I got myself a recast kit, which is around 50%-40% of the original price. And the MG models, can use bendi mah coz just need the frame.
*
tell me about it
my B-Club Zaku II F2 original kit cost me arm and leg... doh.gif
still unless you used to deal with resin kit I wouldn't buy recast unless it's from well known or someone I know...

say mind to explain what recast kits is all about?
if you gonna spend that much and end up using a * ahem bendi frame, will it be worth it?
*
recast kit is just that, Recasted resin kits from the original resin kit.
Due to the inherent nature of the mould you can only cast limited number of resin parts off the mould. Hence the high price for resin kits compared to injection kits that you can press out in far far greater number than resin kit - we are talking about the silicon mould Vs Metal mould ^ ^;

recast is taking those the parts from the original resin kits and make the mould yourself to pour and take the another cast off the new mould. The quality of recast really depends on the experience and materials used for recasting. Some recast are even better then the original with minor errors on the original fixed in the recasting...

Try not to get the recast from TH as they use very britle material for casting.
HK recast on the other hand supposedly better in quality though I have no experience with HK recast. Only recast I used were those doen by some of Korean modellers for other community members (resin hand)...

preliminary finish of dodaiII 1/100 scale model...

user posted image

sorry for poor shaky picture. I'm bit tired now after doing two models currently for last several nights... :-X

was initially planning Bandai's 1/144 scale EX Dodai II in 1/100 scale but along the way I decided to make it more realistic(?) look than the stubby anime look in OVA. Also I extended the middle section bit too much to accommodate most of MG Zeon MS models - so far only tested with Zaku II, Zaku II F2 and Gouf Custom and don't think Dom will fit. tongue.gif

I'm planning to rescribe the panel lines again and add more details to dodaiII with some help/suggestion from fellow airplane modellers... biggrin.gif
possibly repaint as well since don't think this colour scheme is interesting and also putting new decal in much bigger size. Those are the scrap ones I have in my junk box plus lettering and number like military airplanes

the 1/100 MG Z Plus C1 is a transformable unit, cool colour but i would recolor it imho  tongue.gif  ,uniquely for space battle diorama
but I think C1 colur scheme is cool.
I even repainted A1 in C1 colour schem when I built this one for a friend biggrin.gif

MG is suitable for lazy people like me who don't paint their kits  biggrin.gif
just snap fit & draw some outline on the kit already can make it look nice

In my opinion, lower grade kits are more suitable for pro
it's because you need to modify / paint the kit to make it look nice
MG is just need more cutting on the parts
*
well below is the snap fit with panel lining and few spot painting

http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/8582/img07916ew.jpg

and this is fully painted with weathering as well

http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/8844/53et0077s1uh.jpg

which one looks better @_@

Cheers Fodder Soldier

That Gundam OYW was more of my laziness than anything else. After built several OYW I was at the point didn't want to build another one so when I was asked I tried the minimal work required to get that boy done. tongue.gif

And I totally agree with you on UC MS being more realistic(?). I've done MG Dom with battle damage but like you said it won't look right on Seed MS line. biggrin.gif Hell I've also done MG Zaku II with most of its lef destroyed with few inner frame twisted for diorama and it was a lot of fun trying thing you picked from military modelling guys...

and talk of funny pic here's something I've done in few minutes... he he

Yes but at least do put the top coat to kill off that shine which makes the kit more like toy than model... biggrin.gif
That MG Zeong I posted has not been painted at all apart from the shadow and top coat... If you look at the MG Zeong on dalong.net than you will see the kind of shine I'm talking about.

As mentioned in another thread this is one of very first PG Gundam I built years ago and during repainting PG Mk-II I decided to give this boy a new coat of painting as well. I planned to use the similar colour scheme for my now suspended diorama project and liked quite well. I think the overall colour scheme is quite pleasing and suit the Titans scheme very well.

I imagined that to develop the successor of the legend of One Year War the newly formed Titans Test Team asked Anaheim Electronics to assemble another RX-78-3 for the filed testing. Anaheim in return used the modules left over from Gundam G3 and spare parts to deliver one and being cheeky they put the WB logo on one of shoulder expecting it to be covered by Titans but to every one's surprise TTT was allowed to leave it on - probably a homage to the original Gundam.
