hi everyone, im newbie in gundam modelling.
somebody help me find the cheapest gundam store (not online store) in KL? thanxalot icon_question.gif
*
Very hard to say which shop sell the cheapest
some of them will have promotion on certain Gundam
but other Gundam might more expensive than others

Anyway you can try GT (Time Square 7th floor)
they have a lot of Gundam which is cheaper than other shops
but very limited choices

Finally....
http://img60.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11511089462868jo.jpg

hope this is true.... MG Destiny thumbup.gif

And the inevitable Strike Freedom, which would probably be some extra parts stuck onto the MG Freedom...

Oh well....
*
I think that box art is produced by some Gundam fans lah...
not the official MG art box from Bandai
base on my experience
Bandai never make the box art so "Anime look" for MG kits
most of the time is 3D CG art

Our bro StormV won the "New Entry Winner" in last year BAKAC (Gundam modeling contest)
so of course he knows a lot biggrin.gif

Bout the sand paper
you can get it at normal hardware store
buy no. 1000 & above (the no. higher means more fine)

I know some people will immerse the parts into hot water (not boiling water)
to remove the oil that stick on the parts
then when you paint, it can attach better on the surface

i tried finding sand paper 1000 and above in hardware shop...no luck at all
have to buy the expensive tamiya sand paper
before this i used the ultra rough sand paper ( i dont know the grade tongue.gif ) which i though can use ( frm hardware shop)  and end up murdering my models  laugh.gif
*
You can't find it?
Try to search for few shops & I'm sure you can get it
Don't use below 1000 to sand your model
it'll only use when you want to get rid of some extra glue or plastic

OT:
Congrate for getting the MG Aile Strike biggrin.gif

Yeah, if you willing & afford to pay a bit more
better get MG Aile Strike or Freedom

The quality or design build is better than 1/100 HG / Non-Grade
just bout RM 20 ~ 30 more

No... get an MKII ver 2.0 instead.... biggrin.gif

I still feel freedom is too fantasy like, Aile strike looks more military, although I am not a strike fan... tongue.gif
*
Aiya... He's asking for Seed series lah
of course we introduce MG Strike & Freedom
if he asking for MGs
then of course Mk. II, Zeta 2.0 or Nemo biggrin.gif

how to see the sand paper grade? i went to tesco the other day and i got this one which says No. 00 (150) so the grade is 150?  thats like the finest i can find there d.then again, its tesco lol.

Your place don't have those hardware shops?
Go to those shops to buy
it should have more variety
the 150 is the grade
search for 1000 & above

Where is this ACE harware shop? Is it the one in IKANO?

Anyway, 1 2 ask some question on sandpaper.
If i use high grade sandpaper (let say 1500), will it leave any scratches or will it leave a smooth surface?

Coz i was thinking using sandpaper to sand the part where the runner joint the parts. This is bcoz i dun hv airbrush/paint spray to spray the parts.

Using hobby knife to shave of the runner will still leave some 'flashes' no matter how well i shave it off.  doh.gif
*
No. higher means the "sand" on the paper is more fine
thus it will not leave too many deep scratches on your model's surface
It's suitable to use on make a surface smooth
so don't use it to sand some extra part
or else you'll sand until dawn only finish sanding biggrin.gif

is it more effective with file? any grade with file? tongue.gif
i ask the hardware shop for effective things to sand...they showed me the file..but it looks damn rough...no idea if it would be effective or not
*
File is use to remove the excess plastic part
do the following if you want to remove the excess part:
1) Use file on the excess part until it left a bit
2) Use sand paper no. 1000 & above to smoothen the surface

If you just want to make the surface smooth
just use the no. 1000 & above grade sand paper on the surface

Aiyah sand paper also troble so much ah ...
yes ACE arware is in Ikano and yes they have 1200 sand paper cost about 2.xx a pcs ... if u in side ACE harware shop, check out the follwing few item that regular modeller need...
Pen knife set (inside the Close Room next to cashier) about 16.XX, small drill bit 1.0, 2.0 mm 3.xx each ... pen knife refill/blade ... 7.xx set,
Future yes i find it in ACE also 48.xx (waaah),
Windex Yes can find in ACe Also,
Fourmula 409 yes can be found in most SupperMArket Also ... 9.xx a bottle...
for Filler i saw one in Enoes JJ 1U, about 16.xx set,
bondite epoxy putty i got from H/W shop near my place (hihi)

as for my choice of sanding i use Nail Filler (12.xx a set) that u get from watson 3 pcs set 1 for cleaning, 1 for shine and 1 for conditioner ... trust me the cleaning and shine stick is the best ...  u can sand and end up with smooth finsinhing ... great for those that dont want to paint their model .... can use for long long time .... just brush of and u can use it again .... hehehe ....

so u just use Knife to scrap the unsmooth surface (90deg method/dont cut) then sand it off with nail filler then finsih it with shine stick .. and see the result ??

notworthy.gif
*
I seldom use the pen knife
most of the time use those normal blade cutter
unless I want to crave panel lines rclxms.gif

Mind I ask, what's Future & Windex? blink.gif

you guys knew about the Strike MG Phase Shift off version?

http://www.dalong.net/dal65/mg/ml10/ml10_p.htm
*
It's nothing so special bout this kit
the only difference from the MG Aile Strike is its color
so I better buy the normal Aile Strike biggrin.gif

I think phase shift off is quite ok. Unique at least smile.gif
Just don't understand why Ban Dai is wasting their time with this and not come out with other Gundam MG from Seed series vmad.gif
If Justice or Infinite Justice come out....phase shift off or on...sure got buyers wan icon_rolleyes.gif
*
That's the strategy of Bandai
just change a bit then push out as a new item
at the end will have people go and buy it
Bandai can save cost from doing development and buildl new mold for the plastic

er wait a minute..i dun see any char's gelgoog ..anaval gato did tongue.gif
there are difference which u probably overlook
the figures  tongue.gif
er well thats about it, and these redundant release are not for all series, only some did
but it is very strong in seed series, juz look at the g gundam or char's counterattack series..its really clean from redundancy
*
Ops, sorry
forgot it's Anaval Gato
always think of Char only tongue.gif

Besides those
there's a lot of MG also using same mold
for example Mk. II AEUG & Titans
then S Gundam
