did anyone realize the price tag on this IJ? Could it be the MG version?
*
2000+ yen doesn't buy you a MG anymore. MG thesedays costs 3k~4k+ yen. Unless they're smaller units like The Ball.

im planning to get 2 from young_soul. I confirmed getting the 1/100 Aegis. but for my 1/144 gundam, i cant really decide.
*
Is it really THAT HARD to buy a model kit that you like the most?

The 1/144 SEED line are made of meh and mediocre. They're all the same, with the same kind of quality, never heard of any complaints about loose parts and whatnot.

QUOTE
meanwhile.... the nightmare is true... OMG... they've ruined the series and now they plan to ruin the 1/100 line as well??

The GSD 1/100 line was already ruined from the start, what with the uninteresting lineup (Bandai: WHOAMG WE HAVE 4 EXCITING ZAKU UNITS THAT ARE ESSENTIALLY THE SAME THING ONLY WITH DIFFERENT COLORED TREES!), and the lack of kits for superior designed units like the Windam and Blast Impulse.

dun be like that. Some people are just cautious when deciding. Like me  laugh.gif My friend on the other hand always rush his decision and I laugh when he makes a mistake (which happens 70%) of the time  cool.gif

I'm not sure about Windam, but Blast Impulse was used only...twice? in the show...maybe that's why they don't wanna focus on the kit. Might not bring as much profit as the others. Remember, all companies focus on profit. Nothing else...

And...Asuran, Yzak and Dearka all used Zaku units till the end. Probably that's why there are so many Zaku around in GSD  whistling.gif
OMFG...StarGhazzer~!! How big is that ExS? Looks like a 1/20 or something  shocking.gif
*
Cautious in buying plastic crap != asking others to decide what model kit YOU should buy, despite the fact that most of the time, people buy model kits because they love the design/color scheme, and they'll tell you to buy a kit that they like, not a kit that you like. If you were to ask me which 1/144 HG SEED kit to buy, I'd recommend Strike Rouge +IWSP because the IWSP pack itself kicked so much ass (main focus on physical weaponry FTW!), although I would end up telling you to diss the 1/144 SEED line, and buy the much superior HGUC 1/144 Hazel or Advanced Hazel instead.,

Blast Impulse has a superior color scheme. I always adored Gundam units with forest-like-green camouflage colors, in addition to having a SURPRISE BUTTSECKS! hidden weapon. And profits? Bandai's a weird company, you know. If they only churn out model kits or toys if it's popular, we'd see the whole market being bombarded with 329487675 Destiny figurines/model kits already, as opposed to 329452376 Strike Freedom crap. The 1/100 Destiny was wildly popular among fans and outsold all of its other GSD kits when it first came out. But yet, Bandai still continues to churn out more and more SF crap. Bandai would've made an Astray Gold Frame Amatu already if they wanted to profit. Oh, and did I mention how bad the sales for GSD kits are, that at some point various Japanese shops are throwing the price out of the window just to make it sell?

And you fail. Yzak and Dearkka used Zaku Phantom. Zaku != Zaku Phantom.

plastic crap or not...you said it yourself...overcharged plastic models...inflasi zero man

oh wait, you're probably too rich to bother  :x

and I'm saying Zaku in general term ler  dun have to be so specific like Zaku 1, Zaku 2, Zaku with a cowboy hat. In this case you're wrong too. Yzak is using Slash Zaku Phantom...not Zaku Phantom  dunno what is Dearka using...forgotten
*
I'm not rich :(. Speaking of which, should we ever expect model kits' price to go down, drastically? I went to Maybank sometime today, and I found that the exchange rate of RM to yen is now RM3.10 for 100yen, compared to the old RM3.8 (same as USD) for 100yen several years ago, before the unpeg thing.

Dearkka used a Blaze ZAKU Phantom, Yzak, Slash ZAKU Phantom.

The Strike Rouge + IWSP is indeed superior in its design, but the 1/144 looks like crap if you dont paint it.

And painting it seems like alot of work. >_<

What's so hard? Just need some white, grey, panel lines and that's it.

The 1/12 Zaku thing (or at least, I've only saw a 1/12 scaled Zaku) is made of fail and suck. It lacks loads of details (torso, legs and arms are smooth as hell, with no carved panel lines) and is expensive as crap

it's in Korean (in case you are wonderding what the all the gabarges are for) but the pictures should give you enough idea...

Don't bother. Dalong is made of suck and fail too. He never bothers to thin out the fresh panel lines he drew (even rubbing plain water on the surface immediately after drawing the lines would do), despite already doing 2394567 model kits.

Still, I wanna know what that rotring pen is. I have the same problem when I use my gundam marker to color some panels. It certainly looks better after he used that rotring pen (whatever the hell that is).
*
He uses the rotring pen (which has a finer tip, at least I think so) to correct his louzy mistakes. Which really isn't needed. Just rub the surface with your finger wet with water would do. You'll get a finer and sharper line.

lol I just use black acrylic to paint them, like what I did to the leg vents for both my Hazel and Advanced Hazel. Dries up faster and doesn't leave a shining finishing when done (inks tend to reflect light when written on plastic)

Completed teh 1/144 Wild Wurger recently:
user posted image

user posted image

For a model kit that's recently produced (late 2005), and costs nearly 3000yen in retail, Wild Wurger is made of meh and mediocrity, when compared to Bandai's 1/144 HGUC line. For those who have no idea what's a Wild Wurger, it's a unit used by Arad Balanga from the game Super Robot Wars Alpha 2/Alpha 3 for the PS2, and SRW: Original Generation 2 for the GBA. Both are superior games that you must play (SRW:OG2 ROMs are everywhere over the internet. drop me a PM if you don't know where to find one).

Read here for moar nerdy information:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Falken
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Wurger

Wurger specializes in close range combat, and it has a partner unit, Wild Falken that specializes in long range combat. Combined togather, they could perform the Twin Bird Strike attack, where Wurger ejects some part of its armor for quicker movement and deploy a pair of hidden wings.

user posted image

First off, the arms. The shoulder joint is kinda loose, while the Stag Beetle Crusher on its right hand is enormous and too heavy for it to support, so it would look something like this:
user posted image

Although the joint has a square peg of the polycap poking out, so you could make it stuck on the hidden peg inside the shoulder armor, so it won't look retarded anymore:
user posted image

The elbow has a very limited movement. It can't even bend 90':
user posted image

user posted image

I also find it ridiculous that they would give loads of tiny parts (the 4 small yellow circular vents on both the shoulder armor, and the tiny square for the yellow part on the skirt armor) but they can't even be bothered with making some armor parts for the Stag Crusher, instead of giving a totaly white claw for it:
user posted image
the concept art

user posted image
the actual claw

user posted image

Also a word of warning: unlike Bandai kits, there's absolutely no stickers included for Kotobukiya kits. For the eyes, they usually come prepainted if it's binocular visioned, like Wild Falken, Alt Eisen and the Huckebein series, or unpainted, if it's monocular visioned. I has to buy a green Gundam marker to do the eyes and the Stag Crusher's sensor >_>

But regardless, it's still a nice kit with ample amount of details (I LOVE how the triple barrel gatling gun looked on its left hand). A simply must-get for SRW originals fan like me.

Dear people of lowyatnet,

I do think that we should start making pictars like these with their model kit/figurine collection. Users would win moar if it's something both funny and sexual in nature (like the pictures of dozens of HCM Pro Acguys molesting female animu figurines):

Fails x infinity for not realising the limitless potential of making original, funny/scenic pictures with your figurines/model kits. I pity thee for thinking that generic mediocre picture of a model kit standing on a blank background is "cool".

hey i went to lowyat today. dropped by at XL-shop to get the markers. anyways, im facing a problem on the coloring side.

how do i color the black parts? or like lighter colors on darker colors? im trying to put white on black (force impulse's shield) and i cant get any effect:(
*
You're doing it wrong hurr. You're supposed to use acrylic/enamel paints, along with a primer if you want to apply lighter color on dark surfaces. Apply light colored primer on the dark surface, wait for it to dry, then apply paint.

not sure if you got any sort of comparison though
and if you're refering to the noun of 'superior', it means person of higher rank

It's contagious because /b/tards are the superior kind of homo sapiens to have ever existed, and everyone's jumping on the party van to be as cool as us.

How do I founded meaning of superior? ¯\( ¯A¯)/¯

Hi guys,

Just started gundam modelling after making plane models for so long.. tongue.gif
Went to Lowyat today, planning on getting a HG 1/144 Palance Athene which was going for RM65, but found an MG 1/100 RX-78GP01 for RM80, so I took that one instead.. was this a better deal? Any place besides Lowyat that you guys recommend for getting cheap models?
*
The old MG kits are made of lose and suck. I bet ver.2 of them would come out in another few years.

And you're generic for prefering generic Gundams than a truly uniquely designed MS.
