Default android does not allow you to perform a rom image backup. After rooting with a custom kernel like CF or TWRP or Aroma, it enables the backup feature which creates an image of your rom, called a nandroid.

So, root first, backup after.

Root wont actually improve your phone. It only means to gain admission to the phone system.
What you do after that may improve the phone such as using custom kernel that can be tweaked on lots of things.
Or flash custom roms that devoid from Samsung bloatwarez.

Yup. Instead flashing a kernel / rom will. But depends on the developer

After many forumers' posts about battery life, GN2 does not need any tweaking anymore where battery life is concerned.

yup, is everythings meet your requirement there's no need for mods... as when modding you donno whatelse actually you've been wrongly tweak and "might" cause any un-forseen defects... nod.gif

but something do bother me would be those wakelock issues and not sure the n2 will be having it or not as for n1 i do face it before due to modding and force to reset the device... sweat.gif

The battery is much better than Note 1 I suppose? Great! The one on my Note 1 doesn't last at all nowadays. So what tweaks do you usually do?
