as well as a lot more customizable. However, openwrt is much more difficult to use and customize. So don't take my full recommendation for it.

tried with Linksys E2500. Managed to flash Shibby 1.28 to my unit but after tagging vlan 500 to WAN port unifi does not seem to connect. At preview page, WAN port status shown as "unplugged" but actual port has light...
Configured port 4 to be tagged in vlan 500 but still fail to connect to unifi. This time port status shows its connected but unable to connect... Any help guys |

try changing your VLAN to 4 instead of 2.
Also, first 802.1q vlan tag to 492. Then disable that experimental trunk vlan. This post has been edited by abubin: Aug 28 2013, 10:26 AM |

Thanks abudin for the reply, I need to ask, what do you mean by "Also, first 802.1q vlan tag to 492."
And I could no disable experimental trunk because without it, i would not be able to Tagged WAN port for vlan 500. Hope to hear from you soon |

look at your VID Offset. Change "first 802.1q vlan tag" to 492. Yours is 0.

lemme try it tonight and see how does it go. Just wondering what will this do when i change to 492 ? It says it must be increment of 16...
I'd test and post results here. |

Thanks abubin, I'm connected via tomato firmware now. Putting vlan to 4 solved the problem. A bit strange why, could be a bug from them but it works now. Cheers!

VLAN 4 is due to the way this firmware works. I am using linksys wrt54gl. This router have the limit of VLAN 16 only. So in order to overcome this, the firmware modder created multiplier for the vlan. So if you want to use VLAN 500, you need to create VLAN offset up to 496 (16 x 31). So from this 496, you add 4 (which is your VLAN 4). So you get VLAN 500.
