Do be careful as the paint may "eat" into the plastic. I have experienced this before. It ain't fun.

That's what the primer layer is for. To allow the paint to "grip" onto the body.
Next time, wetsand the body with 400 grit sandpaper ( that's what I use, if its not right, then i'm wrong ), then prime the body. Anchor primer costs RM6 at my place. |

Anchor primer costs RM6 at my place. wetsand body with 400 grit sandpaper is a very bad idea but it is usefull for removing mould lines. after doing so wetsand the body with 1200 gritt sandpaper to 2000 gritt so that you will have a smooth surface. if you attempt to paint after sanding with a low grit sandpaper, you might risk exposing scratches on the body |

I like gunze mr primer.. very smooth stuff...wetsand body with 400 grit sandpaper is a very bad idea but it is usefull for removing mould lines. after doing so wetsand the body with 1200 gritt sandpaper to 2000 gritt so that you will have a smooth surface. if you attempt to paint after sanding with a low grit sandpaper, you might risk exposing scratches on the body as for holes, you can fill them with tamiya putty.. wraping parts for metal effect, I use bare metal foil.. masking, tamiya yellow tape black lines, gundam marker pen.. |

Argh!!! I just realise the car models in m'sia so cheap compared to Aussie. Was desperate to buy a ferrari car model to complement my Lego Fiorano and ended up buying a Revell Fiorano for RM150 and Tamiya Enzo for RM180 (After conversion from AUD to RM). Maybe I should wait until I come home to M'sia and spend my salary back home...
Question: how much is a Tamiya ferrari? Is ferraris more expensive compared to other models? And is there anything bigger than 1/24? |

Okay, which Ferrari would you want? Tamiya does have quite a few Ferraris. And which part of Aus are you from? Then maybe that way I can help you.

I'm in Brisbane. I've recently just gotten a Tamiya: Enzo Ferrari from Hobbyrama (one of the main hobby stores in Brissy). I paid AUD55 for it.
I am just wondering about the prices in Malaysia... becos I tot maybe I'll just save some money and return home to get it instead of buying it Aussie. My Lego Fiorano is 1/10 scale, so hoping to find a model kit that could at least match that scale, but everything I saw was only 1/24. |

If you like, you could try HLJ for some shopping.
