i agree, CAS-1 audio performance really impressive. i like this CAS-1 very much. haha

I bought a decent speaker from Wharfedale to satisfy my speaker setup and will be fed by emotiva basX a-300 and Holo spring dac. Most of my listening is through headphone so the speaker will be used by my parents most of the time I guess.

i didnt notice if there's a differences between LDAC, 3.5mm audio jack and usb connection on HG1..
LDAC and 3.5mm audio jack is through nw-zx2. usb audio through pc.

just got myself a nw-zx2.. impressive.. before this only paired with huawei p9.

HG1 usb audio not necessarily pair with pc, it can pair with walkman which supports hi-res as well. just that, my curiosity of the HG1 audio performance with usb audio connection, as a portable hi-res speaker with build-in battery

I never listen to the CAS-1 before, but I think you need a much more expensive speakers (those diminishing return type) to actually hear any difference between LDAC and 3.5mm since LDAC is like 44/16 CD quality. Need a system that can differentiate 96/24 from 44/16... which... is kind of pointless.

As for headphones, maybe a future MDR-Z1R BT can tell the difference between those two... hehehe

The difference between LDAC & AptX, the gap is pretty noticeable, even when I am just using A-15 for both HG1 speaker & MDR 1A-BT headphone, your ZX2 SQ should be a lot more better.

Might be changing my A-15 to A35 or later maybe on next year as A-15 software is pretty outdated & battery running dry fast due to DSEE + LDAC modes (05 Nov 2015)

Current music mode when:

- Playing songs in car: ClearAudio from A-15 + ExtraBass from HG1
- Playing songs alone: DSEE from A-15 + Sony MDR 1A-BT

Once go wireless LDAC on CD-DA quality, never look back on wired...

Can't wait to get a next gen non Sony Android phone with Oreo and LDAC built in.

I am heard so many ppl of you show off your FiiO, Cowon, iBasso, astell and etc. but may know what about Sony Walkman NW-A45? How is the sound quality for this player? I need a better player to boost up the bass and treble for my Shure SE535.

Sony DAPs are good as well, you won't go wrong with them. But more importantly try them out with what you have to see if you like their pairing

I was placed order for NW-A45, Foto Shangri-La is now selling RM799 at promotion price in 11street. I was check through lelong and lazada, they list their price RM849 with no promotion.

The seller was sent out my order by GDEX and hope will receive it as soon as possible, can't wait to test the sound quality. I was never tried any hi-res portable music player before because I'm just listening music with my iPhone only. iPhone has no customization on equalizer and the sound stage is quite limited.

May I know your music file format & headphone/speaker for your NW-A45?

Mostly I am using NW series for LDAC headphone/speaker & FLAC/WAV/CD-DA quality songs...

Now slowly converting my songs collection to FLAC version because... the flaws of MP3 is very audible in my current gears...

Mostly I am listening to K-Pop but have to request for FLAC if not available. I have purchase CD from YesAsia but most of the time I can't afford to buy all of them.
One CD already cost RM50~70 but mostly I just buy for collection purpose.

Proud for product of Malaysia with Sony brand.
No wonder can't find much review in Youtube. I only found some unboxing video and some Japanese review about this NW-A45.
I was visited the community forum in Sony, an American is asking when will NW-A45 release in the US
I was tried Sony Hong Kong website, there got online store too in Sony Hong Kong.
However, NW-A45 is listed as "available soon".
