want to ask something here...or those who got the car
when u buy the car, do u have this mark up price RM6k
i asked the SA but she told me its just for the bank to see(for those who took full loan)
*
You take full loan meh? why mark up the price for you unsure.gif

actually it works like this:

if u loan around 64k, they will mark up to bank and say this car worth 70k, so ur loan will be easier for approve.  biggrin.gif
*
Especially for those who take full loan. Eg., the car is 90k, by right can only take 81k loan, but the buyer wanna take full loan, so the SA marks up the price to 100k by adding accesories which will not actually be included, submits that amount to the bank, so now the buyer can loan 90k.

but when me n dares walk in, the sa in showroom dun want to give any discount eh  sweat.gif
maybe we doesnt look alike boss  laugh.gif

I don't look like a boss....you, on the other hand, brought a bodyguard siap with martial arts attire notworthy.gif

Another thing was, you cannot include the optional accesories in the loan, so if you take the RM750 chrome kit, you have to pay it up front. So much for marking up with accesories whistling.gif

lol... when dares and I walked into Nissan showroom, somehow I gave the SA a false hope. Keep on pestering me for my contact number. laugh.gif

*
Lul you came late, so we kept the SA off our backs while we molest the showroom car by saying the potential buyer hasnt arrived yet, that person being you rclxms.gif

Those SA are using this as excuse for not giving discount at year end ? If in case u need to sell the car on January 2013 u will loss 8-10k as the car already 1 year according to used car , any car dealer u go ask now will give discount those conti car event give out 15-20k discount
*
Newly launched models typically have no discount even during year end.

Heck, even old models like the Suzi Swift doesn't even offer any discounts the last time I asked whistling.gif

Suffice to say, year end season does not guarantee huge discounts from each and every carmaker.

for those who have CVT experience
i realise that there is a rubberband effect
is it normal or not normal since never driven one be4
and when downhill, if i let go of my foot off the accelerator, i notice that the RPM will shoot to 2.5-3k RPM and stay there, is that what u call engine braking?
*
Yes. It has nothing to do with rubberband effect, though. It's just the CVT "downshifting" to a lower gear ratio.

so the rubberband effect is normal
yeah, i was quite surprise when downhill and i let go of my foot thn suddenly the RPM shoot up to 3k(pulling)
*
Like I said, that's not rubberband effect la sleep.gif , that's just engine braking.

CVT's rubberband effect is when you step on the throttle, the RPM goes up and the engine roars but the car is not accelerating as fast as the engine noise suggests, until the CVT arrives at the correct ratio then only you feel the acceleration.

i know is 2 different case
i know its engine braking
the rubberband effect is another thing, just want to ask if its a normal thing in CVT
*
It's normal. FLX's CVT have the same behaviour, not sure about Inspira's though.

Feels weird, doesn't it, the car doesn't change gears brows.gif You will learn to appreciate soon enough especially when driving in hilly area rclxms.gif

yeah, coming from 4AT...it feels weird..just need to get used to it
just now not used to it, rev-ed until 2.5k RPM...but average FC meter there still low...still around 16KM/L
why hilly road?...CVT did better in hill climb is it?
*
when climbing slopes, normal AT will jerk when upshifting and downshifting as it hunts for the suitable ratio for the best torque vs. speed. On the other hand CVT can smoothly move through the ratios at any speed.

Of course, it does that at any terrain, but the difference is the most apparent when climbing hills like Genting.

i thought when climbing hill, switch to B/S thn press only
and 1 more thing...since mirage uses gated shifter...another thing to get use
from P to D(even at night is easy) but from D to R(at night)...man, its hard
*
I think D should be able to climb la.

B/S is only used if you need to accelerate faster or when you need stronger engine braking.

Hello guys, just booked myself a mirage..
Mirage GS grey mica + aero package + chrome package + smart fit leather seats = Mirage SE  rclxms.gif
yea, i asked the same thing too...B for bukit, i was like really?!
the SA said it can help during bukit climbing and also during going down the bukit..
i can understand the bukit climbing part but the going down the bukit part a bit confuse becos i think the engine braking can still be activated while still in D..
*
The engine braking should be stronger in B

I have had short spells on my brother's City that's equipped with CVT - very smooth, only slightly annoying at low-rev as it tries to regulate the gear ratio I guess.
Well I think I couldn't compare City to Mirage, but I suppose Mitubishi wouldn't be too far off from Honda.
*
The Saga, Preve, and City's CVT is clutch-based, but I think the Mirage's uses a torque converter like the Inspira. I could be wrong about the Mirage, though.

but by saving abit more fuel + easier maintaineance(BTW my power steering was never serviced before)
and took away the fun factor...i dn't think is worthed
if there was 2 identical car, same spec...only difference is hydraulic power steering and EPS
no doubt in my mind, i would take hydraulic
*
Yea, EPS does make the steering feel like a playstation steering controller, the feeling is so numb it feels separated from the wheels. That said, if you are stuck in a jam or navigating a car park, you'll be grateful for the light steering.

The only EPS steering I've driven that is almost as heavy as a hydraulic steering is the Swift's, which kinda defeats the purpose of the EPS.
