Anyone have experience watch a movie in ScreenX?
Want to ask, what is the best seat for this hall?

Thinking to watch Wicked in ScreenX at Aurum TRX.
Since it is Wednesday which ticket is cheaper and I have A LOT of points, nak tengok sini.

Why the hall is not worth it?
Because I never experienced it before, so I want to feel how was it.
IMAX in Aurum TRX already experienced it, so want to watch in ScreenX format pulak.

Be the one to try it for us XD. According to USA citizens, Dolby Cinema is better than IMAX mainly for more comfortable seats, better visual quality (Dolby Vision projection, so better hdr performance + brighter) and have way more speakers for surround sound vs IMAX's 12. The screens are supposedly big, but not as big as IMAX. I would say try it for the "better" technical set-up.

Apparently, Mickey 17's 1.9:1 aspect ratio is NOT exclusive to IMAX this time, so normal cinema halls should benefit too, so definitely check it out at Dolby Cinema.

I followed one of the british guy on Instagram and this is exactly what TGV and GSC should do to let people know about the screening time.

Instead of upgrading into fancy cinema halls and environment, how about making it more practical to customer.

Agreed haha. Watched this is Velocity IMAX. This is the best movie of the year for me so far and my god, it's been a dry year for films hahaha. I like the use of the aspect ratio here where the longer 2.71:1 scenes are used for intimate and dramatic moments for characters, then into the tall 1.9:1 scenes for the spectacle. I'm hoping to watch this film one more time before it's removed from IMAX for Thunderbolts. This film is seriously so much fun to watch haha; stylish, charming and basically a celebration of cultures.

Amazing. The 1.9:1 scenes were sublime and smartly used. The wider aspect ratio scenes weren't really big of a distraction and mainly serve to focus the scenes' mood and tone. The 2.71 scenes are still large on the Velocity screen. In many ways, because of how good the acting and scene directions are, you'll be invested in the scene which the shorter aspect ratio will help in terms of focus.

Since its theme is about music, the audio shines a lot with the extra speakers hahaha. I was vibing and enjoying myself. I will say some of the spoken dialogues can be a bit hard to comprehend considering the accents of the characters in the film, which is made slightly worse with the bassier IMAX speakers (not speaker problem, it's the film's own audio mixing issue)

I would say take the chance and go for Velocity's. The taller aspect ratio on that screen helps a lot for taller image. For me, the other IMAX halls are only in consideration if their aspect ratio are longer (2.39:1 and above) and won't have any 1.9:1 scenes. Even then, Velocity is still fantastic for those films without taller scenes.

Good list. How was Thunderbolts btw? Also, anyone watched films recently in IOI City Mall's 2 IMAX hall? Wondering if GSC has fixed the muffled audio problem from the middle of the screen.

Nice! Yeah, if I wanted to watch it on a really big screen, I would watch it in BIG or something instead of IMAX. I just don't see the benefit in Demon Slayer in IMAX with pretty much the same visual and audio quality. Any other format would've been better than IMAX for Demon Slayer in my opinion.

I'm really surprised that Demon Slayer in IMAX is full everywhere when I last checked. Not that I should be surprised, I guess. The common moviegoers don't really understand what IMAX is. Sometimes I also question the cinemas' decisions in selecting IMAX for films. I get it for Demon Slayer since they know people will watch it in IMAX anyway so there's profit right there (really good profit 'cause they're all full). But I'll never forget when they used literally all IMAX halls for Madame Web when there were films like Dune: Part Two showing around the same time. Thank God they brought the IMAX halls back for Dune after 1 or 2 weeks. Like, bruh... why?

According to IMDb, it's 1.43:1 for IMAX GT Laser & IMAX 70MM. But we have neither in Malaysia, right? As far as I know, we only have either CoLa or XT.

So does that mean we only get the default aspect ratio that is 1.85:1 for IMAX?
