What i can guess is full spec mazda wont be cheap, price should be close to mazda 6 2.0 spec or even abit higher. It should be lighter compare to 6 since m3 sedan tail looks abit shorter, so i guess performance wise 2.0m3 should be slightly better than 2.0 m6. It also come with more sporty interior design and more interactive UI with digital meter, a central controller near handbrake there. More important is m3 2.0 come with paddle shift which m6 2.0 dont have iirc, its definitely much more fun to drive. M6 have more legroom though.

If m3 2.0 is the same price with m6 2.0, i will definitely go for m3. That's why if they price m6 2.0 that price, they should have the confidence to put alittle big higher price since m3 2.0 having better spec. Unless they have some strategy in their mind. If they price it 20k lower then m6 2.0, it will definitely kill m6 2.0 not the other way round, since its a clear choice which to buy. If they price m3 2.0 around 150k, still its the cheapest mazda car that come with paddle shift compare to m6 2.5 which cost abt 189k. With 40k difference still a very good buy if u want the zoom zoom feel and u r bored with the T & H look n feel. If pricing too low and make it too common on the road, will b less exclusive feel for mazda owner i guess. Just my 2 cents smile.gif

For me, i definitely no budget for a 150k car, but i still like mazda look n zoom zoom feel. Thats why i dont wan to take the risk n wait for the new m3 launch. Just grab the old m3 2.0 while stock last which come with paddle shift at price 110k+ with discount. Its a very good buy if the new m3 is really price at 150k. BUT i heard old m3 is releasing its last batch soon, if out of stock then no choice edi. 2014 budget is coming, there are still alot uncertainty where the new GST or car loan might changed anytime. What if 20% downpayment n max 7 years loan is true, it will spoil some ppl's plan.

Never mindlah..

If really RM153k, then I just cancel the order.

More than RM 140k, I won't pay.

Probably the RM 153k got include the touch screen infotainment, which I don't really fancy it.  smile.gif

I guess u still need a screen if u plan to have the reverse camera.

Bro & Sis,

M3 (2.0cc) is a C segment market.
M3 is M3 & it is always a M3.
It is NOT a transformer in anyway.

Bermaz is competing with others C segment.
As far as the competition is concern, so far T&H are leading the market,
established with many outlet & service centre nationwide.

Few things to consider, such as:
i) Mazda is a slow mover brand due to Msian lifestyle (fact)
ii) Poor Resell
iii) Limited service centre
iv) High spare parts price

Logically, if Bermaz quote RM147K to RM153K, the impact ll be:
i)  M3 Killed by D segment (Camry & Accord) RM150K
ii) M3 killed by his own bro M6 (2.0) which also consider slow mover
iii) RM147K-RM153K, may be sold less then 10 units in a year but RM130K should be accepted but still hard to sell
iv) All New Altis 2.0 ll be launch Mac 2014 & with T logo.... I am sure it is a hot cake

My prediction
M3 ll be launched at RM130K but below RM135K, aft captured 1st round market, they ll drop below RM130K.
A year later, end 2014, CKD with lower tax structure (RM120K).....
That is the basic model for a simple PLC concept (Product Life Cycle)
Build Up Quality surely drop but RM13K is a huge amount
*
For m6 2.0 price at 159k, which spec is abt the same like m3 2.0. For lowyat only m6 2.0 owner is edi 29 owners, what makes u think if new m3 2.0 price at RM147K-RM153K will sell less then 10 units in a year?

Anyway, just can't wait for the new Mazda 3 coming. Worried only bring hatchback only though..

Bro,
To answer your question, Why 10 units sold if the price range between RM147K-RM153K!
Basically, I don't have any statistic on that, but that is how I describe.

Basically, the technology ll improve but the price for each segment will remain.
Example, Civic Gen 8 (2004-2005), the price is RM120K (1.7) & RM138K (2.0).
That was the best design & technology untill the successor came,
Civic Gen 9 (end 2005- end 2012), RM113K-RM115K (1.8) & RM130K (2.0)

Talking on M3 (2.0)
Sept 2009-2010 CBU (RM130K++)
2011-2012 CKD (RM120K)
2013 CKD with FL RM110K Clearance

If Bermaz launch M3 (2.0) skyactiv, what are the supporting points for them to quote RM150K?
May be u are the fan, but when I ask many friends, they are scaptic perseption toward Mazda, they said:
i) Resell very poor, 2-3 years later u ll cry (need to top up RM30K to the bank let go the car)
ii) Hard to sell, unlike Civic Gen-9 (2.0), advertised & gone
iii) Spare parts issue (need to wait & expensive)
iv) No Nationwide service outlet
v) Hard to get accessories (example: Apple casing easilly available but Motorolla HP very difficult for acc)
vi) Skyactiv is no longer fresh, virginity taken by CX5 & M6, unless new technology "space-activ", "sky-passive" or "transformer".
vii) Malaysian mindset. Example:

If RM140k and above, I rather go for Toyota Altis.
At least got one features, which is RV.
Anyway, just can't wait for the new Mazda 3 coming. Worried only bring hatchback only though..
-Guilt79 (Sept 2013)

I rather buy m6 then if its 153k (archonixm : Sept, 2013)

Again, I ll emphasis
M3 & M6 can't be the same bcoz segment C & D were segmented by marketer.
May be u can say "I ll chose M3" for that price due to perfomance "paddle shift".
But those 40 & above, ll preffer 2.5 bcoz spacous & features + better performance & RM185K is a piece of cake to him but not u, he can buy cash at once but u may worry if GST implemented or 20% down payment. Bcoz C segment buyer, possibility cash constrain.

Those 50 & above might think difference, If M3 & M6 same price, he should get M6 bcoz he don't need paddle shift (old man), but he need bigger car bcoz he has got 3-4 children.

So, Bermaz should clear how to position their products via this strategy
i) Product differenciation
ii) Product Segmentation (C segment market & D segment)
iii) Customer segmentation (age, needs & wants)
iv) Competative advantage (strong Brand for H & T)

Almost everyone said, Vios is Dugong & yet Vios is the best selling, Y?
Most of the consumers from C segment said M3 is better design & technology compare Civic Gen 8 (2010-2012) but Y hardly seen M3 on the road in Msia?

U see, lousy KIA, when they launch K5, everyone WOW!!! & started to buy bcoz
i) Design
ii) Features & Gadget
iii) Price
Even though resell very poor & suck quality.

U see, uggly latest models from Accord & Camry + Civic Gen-9
Y captured market share? Bcoz the energy & the power from the Brand T&H

Finally, M3 (2.0) can be accepted if they offered at RM150K-RM200K providing the emblem of "M" being removed & replace by AUDI TT, Mercedes B Class or Lotus but Not proton

Hope this long, long answer in the course of Principles of Marketing can make everyone here clear

I might be wrong but I am confident with market strategy bcoz
I am in the delema,
if All new Altis VS all new M3 (both 2.0) what to buy?
if Altis RM130K VS M3 RM120K, I ll go for Altis bcoz
i) Resell
ii) Spare Parts
iii) All of my friends ll advise me go for T (long term return)
iv) I ve a friend, own M3 (2012) very hard to sell & another friend Civic Mugen, very much demand
Finally used car taken M3 with very high depreciation & my friend said, bye bye Mazda to his life
I started to learn......

How many CX5, M3 & M6 on the road in Msia
Compare to KIA?
T & H?
Do u think Bermaz still dare to suicide by quoting RM150K for his C segment M3?

Petrol Price increased
Food, transport & salary also ll be increased
but M3 (2.0 skyactiv remain unchange)

Impact, purchasing power ll increased
Government no need to reduce vehicle price bcoz as debate, it ll bankrupt the used car

The price is very competative nowadays.
The market also slowing down.
Market so bad as well as purchasing power.

Do u think that C segment for poor RV brand like Mazda dare to launch at RM153K?
How if CBU at RM12X,XXX.00 & CKD at below RM110K?
By droping the price to increased market share is another strategy to hit up market.

Since Accords price so competative, just wait for all new Vios & All new Altis.
FYI, Bermaz Not officially decided on what price for M3 but the price predicted by salesman.....
Hope that ll be a little magic from Bermaz....

How if CBU M3 at RM110K, many ll buy?
