Back in 2005, my senegalus pair did breed. I had 2 pairs actually. I kept them in a small pond with community fish like platies and neon tetras. They were on pellets, so the smaller fish were safe. I found a few babies. I transferred about 7 into a smaller tank. Tried feeding them baby guppies. After a while they just died off. Not sure why.

The female jumped out during transportation in around 2008, and the other pair jumped out later on (my dad left the tank cover open ) So only left the male.

The newer senegalus is a bit short and stumpy compared the elder one ( the male). I'm not sure if it was the same species. Will snap a picture when I do the next water change. Hopefully I bought a female. I was a bit difficult to tell coz the shop aquarium was a bit crowded.

I am keeping them with two soon hocks. They grow so, so slowly.

I was thinking of letting them all go and trying discus. The colours are so beautiful.

By the way, does any one have any wavemakers they want to let go?

I need 2 sets.

Actually, I too feel like giving away my senegalus. But 13 years taking care of it, kinda feel bad for the fish.

Because I saw your angel tank I was tertarik to get angel fish. Now the angel fish ate up all the baby guppies. Only left the adult and sub-adults. More than 20 babies gone! OMG. I want to feed them to my aba-aba.

How are your angels? Why mine like devils?




I've tried to breed longkang fish in this water tank. It was used to store rain water (Because of that water cut in Selangor that day).


It was okay on the first two days. Only a few died.

And then that night....

It rained.

And the next morning every single longakang fish died.

I think it is acid rain. So sad.

Will try again with pipe water the next time.

LuQEE is making us feel bad with all the tank pictures. Water so clean, even have REAL plants inside. Makes our tanks looks so sad.

Feeding session, recorded!

I have a UV sterilizer. Other than that I cover the tank with an old bed sheet in the morning and noon. I only open it in the late evening around 6pm.
Brown algae does grow on the glass though. Such a pain to clean. Every week I need to climb up a ladder to brush it off. I should get one of those magnetic cleaners.



That chart explains why all my baby guppies were eaten....

I've just moved all the angels into the lungfish tank. Let's see how long they'll survive.

Do the java fern need a CO2 tank to grow? Or do you just let them grow by themselves.
