I guess lots of vacuuming? Ur filter can suck off the aro an bichir's poops? I hate when the poops are being smashed into small2pieces and become dust like particles. Urgh.
So far my filter doing a god job. I never did manual vacuuming, except those PNT poops. Just have to clean wools in filter tank. Now that my PNT in another tank, saves a lot of work cuz vacuuming in turtle tank is a lot easier. Turtle tank is only 2' high.

What is jardini labelled as, in lfs?ive never seen one.or is it rare?
AFAIK, there are 2 types of common jardini, Scleropages jardini and Scleropages leichardti. Common ones found in lfs are pearl and green arowana, i dunno which is former and which is latter. Some ppl said pearl and green are the same, some said got a little difference. For me, i just take them as pearls. But my exp with them, not as interesting compared to SHB. Cuz theyre very wild and energetic, not something u can easily tame. In aro community, it was a common advise that one should get at least a yellow aro, but not a jardini).
My current SHB very nice feelings to keep. I can touch the aquarium glass and he follows my hand as i move it around. I like my monster to be fierce, but at the same time, calm and tame.
I dunno other's exp, but i failed to tame my pearlie before. Still have the old pics of many years ago. Sorry just using old nokia phone at that time.
