QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Oct 19 2012, 11:09 PM) mat79, if you seen this; something to ask. lolz email Kristoff terus laDoes the CVT TCU has learning ability too like the ECU? Coz lately I noticed my engine braking is getting lesser and lesser everytime I'm down a slope. Before this, I always plonk my foot down the throttle on downhill slopes. Today when decide to drive like uncle, the rpm only raise about 500rpm more to around 2,200rpm and I am gently cruising downhill at 80kmh without the feeling of something tearing my face off. |

Some sharing regarding some interesting bits I found about the Fofi. TS pls excuse this post as....Oh wait.....
Anyway. 1. The realtime fuel consumption display on the meter cluster, which displays instant FC in L/100km, shows 0.0L/100km when I coast or go downhill with enough speed. This further proves that EFI cars can completely cut off fuel supply when coasting. But the key is that there must be enough speed to minimum maintain engine speed to prevent stalling. Coasting too slow or coasting uphill will not cause the reading to go 0.0. I am still not sure if the Saga does this, but it won't be too a stretched to say it does. On the other hand, coasting and switching to N or disengaging the clutch will not cut of fuel supply as the engine will stall, hence you save more fuel if you coast in D, and shift to N or disengage the clutch when the car and engine slows down enough that the ECU deems neccesary to resume fuel supply. Before anyone say the instant FC reading might be unreliable, I have compared my own FC calculation with the long term FC figures as shown by the car (which is derived from the average instant FC), and they matched very closely. 2. Shifting from D to N during a complete stop will not save fuel on a clutch-based tranny. The FC is the same whether in D or N or P, as long as the engine is running and the clutch is disengaged (via clutch pedal, brakes or slotting into N / P). I have observe the same thing on the FLX and the Fofi. Torque converter based tranny, however, may benefit from shifting into N / P, but I may be wrong. 3. The Fofi has no engine braking in D 4. I have yet to find a use for the Fofi's L gear. Unlike the FLX L gear, the Fofi will maintain the same gear as you accelerate until 6k RPM, upon which it will shift up and repeat the same thing. As you can imagine, using the L gear often for spirited drive will kill the tranny pretty quickly. 5. Say what you like about the FLX rubbishness, the Campro+CVT is still one of the best combo in any car I've driven. You have no idea how much I wish they have a CVT for the Fofi, it'll be perfect. QUOTE(Invalid Username @ Oct 20 2012, 12:15 AM) but.. my flx se super jerky at low speed leh.. like if i go to about 20km/h then release the accelerator. is that normal for cvt? Normal. Need to learn to control the throttle at that speed as the gear is still low. But once past that speed it should be silky smooth. This post has been edited by dares: Oct 20 2012, 12:20 AM |

QUOTE(alister88 @ Oct 20 2012, 12:22 AM) okays there's this question I always forgot to ask. Saga CVT comes with automatic hill hold function. It should hold the car steady when you slow to a stop on a hill, except :Is it ok if the car will go backward in D when Im at a hill? So far I know Honda cars will do not sure if this is CVT's function... - you were pressing on the brakes when stopped at the hill. When you release the brake, it will roll down a bit but it should stop as the clutch closes. - the hill is too steep for the hill hold function. |

Was gonna recommend the 1.5SE to a female friend coz she cant handle a car that has a boot.
At 56k I really cant recommend it over the FLX SE, but what to do Even the 1.3 variants dont come cheap, |

QUOTE(wanfauzan @ Oct 20 2012, 12:17 PM) Dares, during complete stop at traffic light, the fuel flow decreases if I switch from D to N. This should translate to better fc right. The fuel flow does not decrease on my FLX when shifted in N. It fluctuates, but does not really decrease noticably. The only time the fuel flow fluctuates noticably during idling is when the aircon compressor kicks in or switches off. |
