If people who judge Samsung are better than iPhone...
The reason is the screen of s3 and note 2 edge over iPhone 5..
Cos the screen wins me as well...
During s2 vs iPhone 4/4s.. Without doubt I go to iPhone...
iPhone 5 or Galaxy Note 2

QUOTE(c010 @ Nov 9 2012, 11:25 AM) i think most of us here do not understand the definition of multitask. reason why iOS is fast and smooth because it is not a pure multi tasking os, it is "save state". meaning it will take a snapshot of the app you were running and save the state, then resume when you run it again whereas android is pure multitasking because it keep the app in memory and when it reaches the memory threshold, it will release/kill the first app that you loaded. actually, if u actually go through android application life cycle. android OS is doing the same thing as well.take another scenario, try running a cctv app on iphone, then go out and come back again, see whether the cctv app is still connected to your home/office cctv or not. if not mistaken, you have to re-establish the connection. this will not happen to android, when you want to make a call or do something else, move out of the cctv app screen and come back, the connection is still there. correct me if i am wrong. ![]() it is fully dependant on how the app is being created, not trully the OS. but its the OS that handle the memory, if it hunger for memory, it will release or kill those low priority apps. try run 10-20 apps in yor note2 and iphone 5. iphone 5 probably will kill those low priority apps (those that was open earlier) since it has smaller ram as compare to note2. QUOTE(ramz @ Nov 9 2012, 02:05 PM) ios is limited multitasking. meaning only some processes allows to run in the background: its the same for android as well, it is call services, which means it will be running always and if the developer set the "do not kill this when no memory" to true, than it wont be kill even when the fon is starving for memory.1. Apps that play audio while in the Background state. 2. Apps that track your location in the Background. 3.Apps that listen for incoming VOIP calls. 4.Newsstand apps that are downloading new content. 5. Apps that receive continuous updates from an external accessory in the Background. if u look at the list above, its nearly everything. so in a practical sense is not that bad. android on the other hand provides no restrictions to multitasking. there is also good and bad. meaning apps can really multitask, but task that are misbehaving will affect performance. i dev an app in android (doesnt matter which version, newer version only has more function and older function just brought forward, no obselete) b4 during my fyp so im pretty sure of how does android apps works n how does u guys claim android is trully a multitasking (which is not entirely true). here i found an ios application lifecycle ![]() Added on November 10, 2012, 1:51 amjust a side note, u guys being comparing are just how it is display and feel, but not the way the app is being written. i believe that how dual app running or so, it is samsung that manage to dev or some other skillful developer that manage to do it. not the OS! the OS is for u to use as a middleman talking to yor hardware, just take example of Windows and Linux and OSX oh, lets not forget about windows mobile 8. here is the app lifecycle: ![]() This post has been edited by Netto Hikari: Nov 10 2012, 01:54 AM |

QUOTE(adrian23 @ Nov 10 2012, 08:29 AM) In layman term, both apps function the same. All activity in the foreground will be put into suspend whenever it is being minimized n will be resume on reactivation. If the apps is being suspend too long n the os is starving for memory, it will be kill unless disallowed by the app. |

Im using both so that is my opinion. For email or messaging I would use ios for faster task. For surfing I would use note 2 for its large screen. its all depended on individual opinion. Im anti samsung and android all this while and loyal to Apple for so many years since iphone3g.. until last month I personally tried note 2 at lowyat plaza digi roadshow. Without hesitation 15 min after that I decided to give note 2 a chance.
No regret until now. Im glad that I dare to change. it doesn't fail me at all. All i can say give note 2 a chance. It will impress you. |
