The cheapest rate as lotsa forumers here mentioned are those Money changers in front of BB Plaza, Mid Valley, Mesjid India (I'm not sure which one), Ikano (Opposite Uncle Lim) & few more..

Anyway depending on where you stay too. No point you stay in Port Klang and just for the cheapest rate, you willing to drive down to KL, paying toll, fuel & expensive parking just for the saving of ~ RM10 haha

Yes. To Taiwan, changing to US$ 1st & thereafter to NT$ at Taoyuen airport. You will be saving ~ RM30-RM40 for each RM1K you change doing this way. Reason beeing, NT$ is not well sold here locally..Imagine current market rate qouted my Bank Negara as per Today = 10.24 and you said money changer qouting 10.70.

Thai baht not much diff from market rate.. O was at Sg Wang & BB Plaza this Evening...Baht dropped further now only ~ 9.95!! 1st time for years RM>baht

BTW, surprisingly NT$ also can get pretty cheap in Sg Wang/BB plaza.. I saw one at 10.40..not bad

Japanese Yen this week at money changers opposite BB Plaza maintained at 39.80. but in Mid Valley price incresed to 40.20 darn mid Valley

what is one side & both side?

They charge depending on the charge card currency exchange at that point of time lor..for Ruppiah, normally more expensive than money changer for sure..for eg..if money changer you can get 343, you will expect between 355 to 366 using CC..reason beeing..Indon rupiah very close to market rate liao..but for country like Taiwan or Korea, charging using CC there might be cheaper bcos the money changer rate for won & NT$ bad in M'sia

Certain countries esp Taiwan & S.Korea, using Credit card sometime much cheaper than Money changer bcos Money changers in M'sia rate for NT$ & won really bad lor..but in Japan, I do agree not to use. But sometime, conveniency/security > cash.
QUOTE(popcorn513 @ Feb 8 2012, 04:12 PM)

The rate qouted already net inclusive of whatever handling charges. No such thing as handling charges. However, in Taiwan airport, yes every transaction comes wth NT30 handling charges on top of the rate.

Yes US% is well traded in Taiwan and not our RM. That is why, it is good to change US$ 1st in M'sia and once in Taoyuen airport, change to NT$.. This only applicable to countries wth bad exchange rate in M'sia

To get the best result, you must know where in Japan to get the best US$. Otherwise, the trouble of doing this way might not be viable esp the RM>J-Yen already reasonable good dy..

As at Today, Yen is trading at 3.789. So if you can find any money changer selling at 3.85-3.88.. I think no point chnaging to US$..unless most of Money changer still stick to 4.0 haha

You pay the selling rate. Meaning Maybank is selling to you.
FYI, all banks rate are worse than money changers

Added on February 27, 2012, 11:12 amYou can see their Today market TT selling rate of only RM3.75 but they are selling the notes for 4.09..damn..

Yesterday, I sw one money changer in puchong selling at 3.80 only!!

Impossible to get such a cheap rate 0f 3.68-lah. Even Bank Negara last week ~3.75 and the not so best in Puchong was RM3.80

Since Yen dropped further and Bank Negara qouted 3.6865 as at 5pm just now, Expecting the Money Changer in Bkt Bintang to be ~ 3.75 or more

Here is BNM but you can't get this rate below BNM for sure haha:

I think due to Yen dropping so much for the past few weeks, they not dare to sell to much yen. Worry price dropped further kua? If 37.10 is the selling rate..It's dirt cheap dy bcos BNM closing at 36.86. Here in Puchong price ranging from 37.3 till 37.8 wth Carrefour Puchong offering the best rate at 37.3

QUOTE(mafilee @ Mar 3 2012, 08:58 PM)
can u imagine from sg wang to pavillion money changer They only got few thousand bucks of yen and when i arrive most cheaper rate at 37.10 already finish their stock..i need to change at maybank with rate 37.46... dang not my lucky day...

Use3d to be 2 there on LG Ctr court. just beside San Fransico but Wawasan no longer exist. So left wth one i.e MV Money changer. Wawasan has another related partner inside NZ margazine shop not far from jusco Supermarket.

Anyway, ever since wawasan no more in biz, The money changers there are no longer really great & reasonable..Try Bkt bintang for the best rate. But if you are staying far from town, just change at any nearest to you.. the diff of ~ RM10-RM20 for each RM1K you change you might save fro the parking, fuel & toll coming to KL

QUOTE(ost1007 @ Mar 4 2012, 10:14 AM)
Thanks all...
By the way,may I know where is the money changer in mid valley?

Use the selling or TT/OD rate.. Today Maybank Qouting RM340 for every 1mil ruppiah..BNM is qouting RM332 http://www.bnm.gov.my/statistics/exchangerates.php
So if you go Money changer aother than Maybank, most probably ~ RM334 or RM335

RM gained against all major curencies since 3 wks ago..So far the best dropped is not US$ buy Japanese Yen..3 wks ago, it was ~1000yen to 40.15..now Only 37.3.

But I dun think that selling rate by Maybank really what they selling. They actually much higher than that
