I need to go to swiss next week for over 1 month training. Somebody told me Bukit Bintang money changer rates are the best. I went to to look around 6-7 shops but they did not have swiss franc in stock. Tried Sg.Wang plaza as well but no luck.

Last I went back to my area Subang Jaya but the SS15 money changer was not open today. Finally I managed to get 210 swiss franc and 200 euro from the money changer at submit USJ.

I still need about 400 swiss franc. Do you guys know where I can get them? Preferbly in Subang Jaya or near Pavilion KL.

Would it be possible to bring some RINGGIT and try to exchange them at Swiss? Not sure if swiss money changer accept our currency?

Anyone frequently travel to swiss, please share with me the best and safest money changer. Thank you.

Thread merged. rather than Bkt Bintang, try mid Valley too. Otherwise, change to US$

Raya is coming and will be going to Singapore later. I want to change to SGD in small notes like SGD 2, 5 and 10. Will the exchange rate drop if I do that at Money changer?
*
Certain money changers do drop the rate especially US$ if you change owe rthan US$10. But so far for S$, I don;t see this happening. But most money changers might not accept smaller notes or coins. normally S$1, or coins will be rejected. Normally, I will just spent whatever coins & smaller notes of the country I visited on the last day..no pint bringing back unless you wanted to keep as souvenirs

*
No idea where in Langkawi having good money changers but if you start your journey from KL, we can recommend few in KL. Rate in KL is much more competitive smile.gif .. BTW, dun ever change in ANY Airports. Rates is ridiculously bad.

Check pg1 money master link.. That's one of the best money changer rates in M'sia and realtime daily

Rules of thumb. Just compare the price from one of the best rate in KL via money master on pg1 and the rate by Bank Negara or Currency XE. If the diff are negligable- No point changing in foreign countries or changing to US$ 1st & thereafter reconvert back.

Those Currencies with almost mark-to market such as rupiah, US$, S$, Yen, HK$, Renmimbi & etc.. no pint changing 1st to US$ & reconvert or changing in their countries sicne Money changers here already very close to market rate..

Those currencies with huge gaps such as NT$, Thai Baht, Peso, Dong, Changing to US$ and thereafter back to the currency of that country will safe you atleast RM30-RM50 for every RM1000 you change. - For eg NT$

Most of the places already ran out of nt$
So it's advicible to change to usd now and exhange it ti nt in taiwan?
Since I heard most of the money changers in TW refused to take in RM now
hmm.gif
*
RM is badly traded in Taiwan. so do NT$ in M'sia biggrin.gif It will be even worse if you bring RM to Taiwan & might not be accepted! (I did not try b4 so dunno)..
BTW, I just checked moment ago. Bank Negara Today NT$ is 11.02 and Money changer -Money Master- 11.55.

There is a huge gap of RM0.53 sen for every NT$100 you change. Very badly traded for sure. So by changing to US$ which is widely & up to market by Money changer both in M'sia & Taiwan.. You will be saving more eventhough you need to pay for double commission..

My last calculation...For every RM1000 to change to US$ & thereafter change back to NT$ at Taoyuen airport, you will save atleast RM30-RM50 smile.gif

Actually I dun really see any money changers in Taipei haha.. Somehow or rather all their money changers are banks. including all money changers counters inside Taoyuen airport.. One thing I like Taoyuen airport banks/money changers..They sell based on market rate! + NT30 commission per transaction.. so if you exhange more you save more

Hi which is better way to get VND? Im going to Ho Chi Minh next week.

-Convert here from local money changer before going to Vietnam.

or

-Draw from ATM at there using debit card [im on MasterCard (Cirrus) network]
which is more convenient? which offer better total (include any fee) exchange rate? hmm.gif

thanks.
*
For Vietnam, Convert 1st to US$ and thereafter, change at any local banks there. But do change atleast RM200 for 1st day 1st.

Using Debit card, you surely got charged but atleast the rate not so bad as money changer. You need to witdraw in huge amount to counter the commission charged.

Hmm.. You mean convert to USD from money changer here first, then re convert those USD to VND at Vietnam bank?
Why so?

I plan to convert just rm300 first since their cash are so bulky.
This amount still not worth for atm?
*
Dong not well traded here in Msia. However us$ is ok both here & vietnam. That's why. Even you hv to pay double commission, u still gain from this wAy.
Otherwise u can try withdraw out using ATM. But must be in big denomination to counter the one off fixed commission

Hey guys,

I am travelling to Korea in June and was wondering where to exchange ringgit to won.

My questions are as per below:

1) Exchange it in Malaysia

2) Bring USD and exchange it in Korea

Which will be a better choice?

Thanks!
*
Slightly better if u change US$ 1st but for just ~RM20 gain from every RM1000 u change, might as well change here locally. furthermore, the exchange rate at Korean airport is bad & worst than Msia except those makeshift/ illegal roadside money chjangers ~Namdaemun/ Myeongdong

Goto Taiwan thread pg1. If you want to get atleast RM30 extra for every RM1K you change, Change 1st to US$ here in KL (Try Mid Valley LG Centre Court or otherwise, try the one at the LG entrance of BB Plaza.)

Change the US$ to NT$ at any bank-counter in Taiwan airport. The rate between diff banks is almost the same with fixed NT30 commission for each transaction.

So, change my ringgit to USD in Midvalley. Then go change in Taiwan airport. So if i change in this rate, normally how much will i earn or loss? I'm planning to change 4k. Will i get less or more than 40k NTD?
*
RM30 for every RM1K you change. So RM4K, you will earn xtra RM120 or ~NT$1200
