I din recommend anything from Lot10 b4 wor but yes at those Money changers outside BB Plaza.. (There are one island booth stalls on the walk).. Those money changers there probabky the cheapest in town so if for eg MV offering 37.6 as per yesterday, expecting 37.40 outside BB palza. I hv been monitoring closely the differences wth both BB Plaza & MV since last mth haha
But Today rate, I dun think will maintained..Even the BNM rate already RM37.53 now...easing abit compare to this Morning..So 37.90 is just OK comparing to BNM rate QUOTE(popcorn513 @ Mar 7 2012, 10:59 AM) |

QUOTE(confidential @ Apr 12 2012, 09:43 PM) anybody know where to get best rates for taiwan new dollar? For Taiwan, Try changing to US$ 1st & thereafter in Taoyuen airport swtch to NT$.. It's cheaper this way although paying double commission. You save ~ RM30-RM40 for every RM1K you change from my rough calculation. Furthermore, the Taipei airport money changer selling up to market rate wth NT$30 for each transaction irregardless of amt.. That's the best you can get..but not RM hor.. US$it's 10.70 now but i will be going with a group of friends and will be exchanging quite a sum of taiwan new dollar. |

Not sure, you can check the Taoyuen currency exhange rate posted in the front of Taiwan thread and compare it wth bank negara & current money changers rate... I no longer follow NT$ movement for so long

Most money changers do not accept coins and small denominations for sure.

Huh since when the rate drop so low to 36.2? The best I think Early last mth ~ 37.1 for a day or two before going up 37.5, 37.3 & now probably ~ 38.3 till 38.8
If you can get 37, you will be getting much better than Bank negara rate liao haha http://www.bnm.gov.my/statistics/exchangerates.php |

QUOTE(illegaldragon87 @ Apr 18 2012, 10:51 AM) I am not kidding.... My frenz really change at tat rate... At MV... Just tat i dunno the exact date... N i can confirm itz 36.2... Up to you to judge. I also followed Yen rate since late Jan till I got it at the 2nd lowest rate in Mid Valley too ~ early Mar and that was at 37.4 when BNM ~ 36.7 if I can recall. I fyou check back the BNM, rate which is the median rate, the lowest was ~on 15/3 i.e 36.37. At this rate, the lowest any money changer can offer probably ~ 37.1 to 37.5 from my experience. They will not sell lower than BNM rate Well, you try-lah asking your friend to show the small slip the money changer give to him.. |

If we are really god or godalike, probably we can predict when is the best time to change liao haha.. Just change at any money changers closer to you with the best rate unless you are willing to goto far away Money changers but incurring toll, fuel & parking.
The best rates as lotsa us posted much earlier here inc those around - BB Plaza & Sg Wang - Mid Valley LG Ctr Court & NZ news/magazine - Ikano - Opp Uncle Lim - Mesjd India & more Just do survey.. it's just like buying Montel Banana from Tesco, Carrefour or Giant.. They undercut each others at diff timing |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Apr 21 2012, 11:21 AM) keyword being "abroad." It is almost always cheaper to buy foreign currency locally first and bring it with you. but many people, particularly if they're on a longer trip, aren't comfortable with carrying thousands of ringgit cash with them, so they'll just change a moderate sum locally, then withdraw from ATMs while they're abroad (rate is definitely not at interbank rates like what your friend said). Certain countries, yes I agreed, the rate will not be competitive esp those currencies which are well traded locally like US$. Ruppiah, S$, HK$, Yen & etc however, for those currency that are not well traded in M'sia for eg. Korean won, NT$, Dong & etc.. Withdrawal from oversea ATM or even using credit cards in oversea in those countries are slightly cheaper than Money changers rate in M'sia So really depend on the traded rate of those currency here in M'sia |

I just check BNM rate where none of money changer will sell below the selling rate of BNM & They will not buy anything higher than BNM buying rate..and Today BNM @ 11am:RMB..48.16 Buy & 48.22 sell It is indeed impossible for them to sell below 48.22.. The best ~ 49 |

QUOTE(RikaaLika @ May 6 2012, 03:55 PM) Im going to bangkok end of this month-weekend trip.. Not sure the current Thai baht rate in Money changer... if it's not much diff from Bank Negara rate meaning you're getting very competitive rate here dy.. just change locally. Withdrawal via ATM but each witdrawal will attract expensive commission depending on banks fee structure (Can be <RM12 to RM15 per withdrawal should i change to bath in MY or just take bath using atm card later on??? |

Just look around KL Sentral area. Although no one reporting about the rate there. Just for convenient, willing to forfeit a little bit of $$ to change at KL Sentral more than the time you wasted + trpt cost going to BB Plaza & etc..
