i do both guitars and rc flying, and i would say hovering is your basic strumming. if you start with a quad, even more so if with dji stuff, yup this could work. hovering is not that important to practice too much. since stabilizations helps greatly. but not knowing to hover with a heli means bye-bye within the 1st few seconds nod.gif akin to you just want to play heavy rock on your guitar. strumming can be skipped since you'll be mostly "chugging it".  cool2.gif  laugh.gif . so, from my own experience, hover 1st is basic.

*
Yup, we learn how we wanted to play it biggrin.gif In the end, that feeling of being able to pull off a difficult lick finally is so rewarding and satisfying, like able to do a clean run of a scale or sweep a clean arppegio, or do a split s or go thru gaps/gates at speed for the first time biggrin.gif
And also the world of guitars like setting up/modding the guitars/amps/pedals = tuning/modding quads,radios/fpv gears and all their related accesories.

not really, at least not yet. digital google are still a lot more expensive than a decent analog. then there's the VTX and camera. you can get by with cheap camera and vtx with analog, but with digital, those parts alone can be more expensive than your entire machine. imagine if you crash somewhere where you can't retrieve it?  shocking.gif

analog is better IMO in terms of choices and price range. digital is mainly DJI. and DJI is notorious for their closed eco system and milking money scheme. yes, i hate DJI, if it's not apparent enough  laugh.gif

also there's compatibility issue. analogs are pretty much compatible amongst different manufacturer. digital is still in its infancy. maybe when there are more competitions, it will be more awesome.

Haha, I totally agree. I disliked dji, I hated closed ecosystems in many things. Imagine your guitar can only use specific strings(early Steinbergers with their double ball ends sweat.gif )
Too bad at this moment in time, we have no other choice(not counting Shark Byte) if we want that image quality.
Analog opens a whole world of fpv stuffs to play with, was so tempted, recently I almost hit the button for a EV300o thats like 2K ohmy.gif just so I can fly a lighter and more reasonable quad and get more aggresive without the fear of losing it too much, unlike those HD quads.
Miss that feeling of going gung ho with my dear departed mobula7. Got stuck in trees many times coz cant see those ghost branches until its too late biggrin.gif

Or can just get something like BetaFPV VR01 about rm250 just to match up with any tiny whoops and enable you to fly.
Flying inside house is a very good learning experience, you can fly anytime regardless of opportunity or weather. And it trains you looking thru goggles and having a sense of the space around you. Once you fly outdoors, it felt so much easier.

The thing is, I was in this dillema too when starting out.
I decided I wont invest in analog FPV and just go straight to digital, as good analog stuffs can cost as much as digital. If i can spend 1k+ for a midrange analog goggles. I might as well go all the way and get a huge jump in image quality, plus I dun have a collection of analog quads sweat.gif
After seeing digital, I just can't justify analog anymore.

It is expensive, but have to ask yourself if you really want this hobby. To make that decision, get a cheap but reasonable analog box goggle and a bangable quad to play around first laugh.gif

im actually eyeing on skyzone which is below 2k. i thought of dji goggle before but in the end after much thoughts and calculations, i find it not worth in a long run as im sure everyone crash their drone a lot. if every time crash n break the cam, it cost a bomb to replace new 1. its so much cheaper if its analog.

pretty command .... they even attack our kite, some of it kecut bola due to our kite size (3 meter wide), they attack when our kite lands ....

a note on building yourself, i wouldn't advise to beginners. even with my friends, i'll always point to a ready build ones. PnF, BnF or RtF.

reason being, circuitry doesn't always work the same outside of theory. you might get grounding issues that interfere with your vtx or camera signal, simply because carbon fiber is conductive. you might mess up some soldering that kills your board. all those "good" stuff. if you really want to take the challenge, get a basic multimeter. it's an indispensable troubleshooting tool.

yea i totally understand this, thats why i have gotten the mamba practice board to practice on soldering skill first.
i wont start building one until im super confident with my skill

So I took apart my radiomaster tx16s today to adjust the gimbal tension.

It's so much easier to hover now after I slightly tighten the gimbal.

So now the gimbal won't accidentally move yaw or roll whenever I move throttle and pitch

Skyzone is a very good FPV goggle for pro use. I've been replacing my old Boscam FPV goggle with Skyzone SKY02 from last year and gave me lots of modding capability and features.

Nothing wrong with analog, you can always upgrade to digital hd on analog FPV google since most have HDMI port input. Just buy Digital HD receiver module with hdmi output an that's it. bruce.gif cool2.gif

Hey guys happy new year! biggrin.gif
Btw got something new in my hangar; The EAGLE II. Bought it cheap in kit.
Took one day to complete the build and maidened it in the afternoon. It flies awesomely just like an eagle, flew for almost an hour on a single 3s 2200mah lipo pack. Here my video complete with details of my setup. flex.gif

you have the best flying area. i'm really jealous. i only have a playground and a field to fly around. which gets boring after a while, in terms of scenery. sweat.gif

nowadays, i'm only flying indoors with micros. need more flight time with the 4 and 5 inch. cry.gif

i think only the big companies have this restriction. the cheaper clone variant usually don't. so, you can try looking into other brands.

building you own GPS enabled drone from a diy kit is also an option. of course, you need to pick the right flight controller to match the DJI feature, like autonomous flight and RTL.

if all else fails, manual flight with stabilization is always available.

Thanks for the reply, anyway is there any other brand equivalent to Mavic Air 2 with No flight limit? Any other guide to build own GPS enabled drone? You meant I can DIY the Drone controller to match the DJI feature? is it possible? hmm.gif

too many clones of the mavic around. i've lost track. some are good, some are just toys. best to look up some reviews. of course, you want to look at the features properly.

for dyi, you build the quad. the flight controller you buy premade. building a flight controller is not for mere mortals laugh.gif . again, it depends on the features you want. for something like a mavic, it's a bit tricky. with the hand gestures and tiny gimbal. those a pretty much proprietary tech. the things you can easily do are the GPS hold, RTL and autonomous flight. depends on the flight controller's capabilities. and you have to program everything yourself. nod.gif

Micro flying is fun too. thumbup.gif
You'll need to go out and survey the area to find big spot to fly. I found more and more place to fly after driving around remote places. biggrin.gif

Flying near the airport is a big no no, there's no way you'll unlock it. If you do able to unlock the airport/DCA authority able to detect immediately who is the one who flew it. As a good example two people whom are related to my friend who bought DJI MAVIC 2 flew infront of their home was immediately intercepted by the airport security direct to their home because their house was very close to airport. He don't know how the airport authority able to pin point accurately who is piloting the drone in very dense populated home but suspected the DJI apps may have link and send pilot data to their airport detection system. Because of that they immediate sold off their Mavic. If you do some searching around lots of people caught by them and some are were lucky by given stern warning. Some received love letter from CAAM.

That's why we always build our own drone from open sources. bruce.gif thumbsup.gif
One thing for sure we never flew drone in urban area and always follow the air space rules, we have our own flying ethic.
* Btw i also own a DJI drone too but nah i don't like it.
