v911 is by far one of the most durable learning single rotor heli
great as a stress reliever ... charge the battery using your USB port at PC

i have crashed it on purpose into a wall (not very high speed la of coz)
at about 10ft high ... crash into wall ... i never even walked over to pick up the heli
just throttle a little till the heli sits up and then straightaway fly back .. hahahaha

Zero experience laugh.gif . Budget should be like around parrot drone (1k++)
*
get something like this to start
http://www.myrcmart.com/wl-v911-24g-4ch-rt...low-p-4221.html
or
http://www.myrcmart.com/wl-toys-v929-beetl...nge-p-4803.html

thats an oversea site ... but u can find local sellers selling it
the 1st one costs around rm100
2nd one is less than rm150

much much cheaper than your AR DRONE parrot and the controls are exactly like the real RC controls unlike the PARROT .. hehehehe

i think about 500-1200
*
assuming u are starting from nothing and with no rc experience
u will have to consider a radio (starts from rm200+) .. charger (rm100+) .. batteries (rm100+) .. and crash repair costs
and then the cost of aircraft ...

u can get a quadcopter for around rm300+ if u buy the stuff and build it yourself

or u can choose to get the 929 quadcopter which is perfectly good for learning ... really cheap too

I've got myself a V911 too over the Christmas Weekend tongue.gif At least I got to fly it more than my Honey Bee FP. tongue.gif

Just a question, do we still need to do the swash plate leveling for the v911? I still find it not really flying stable enough. (can't go hands free). Could that due to the stock Radio or just user problem tongue.gif ?
*
level the swash as much as u can
then just trim using the radio ... should be ok

sifus im thinking of getting a pnf  / arf for starting to learn quad. I dont want to pening constructing one since i sucks at electronic so what you think about this quad

dji f450

Ideafly ifly4

regards.
*
if u suck at electronics then u dont want the F450 package coz the CRIUS controller needs lots of reading and tuning
i have no experience with ideafly but i heard it much easier to tune and fly

a module is the attachment behind those radios that are removable
u can change system from turnigy to dsm2 to flysky without changing the whole radio ... just change the module
but of coz u will need to change the receivers to the ones compatible with your module la
the module is the "thing" that converts standard ppm signal from your radio to the proprietary modulation of that module (dsm2 dsmx fasst flysky frsky etc etc)

Hi guys. I posted a thread in the audiophiles section regarding the battery for my MP3 player. From what I researched, it seems like the battery used is similar to RC models. Maybe a little help?

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry57367588
*
u are right .. the lithium polymer battery is the one used in most electric RC nowadays
3.7v is the nominal voltage
a 250mah pack will prolly cost u around rm10 or so

these batteries normally comes with 2 point connection only ... as with all DC batteries (including the one in your car)
dunno why yours has 3 wires though .. maybe 1 of the wire is a dummy wire and does not have any function
u will have remove the battery out and check the polarity of your battery with a MM .. no worries u will not blow anything if u have it reversed
when u find the positive and ground of your old battery then u can proceed to solder whatever connections u need to the correct polarities

the honeybee control board has receiver and gyro built in together
u have to separate the receiver section from the gyro section
then re-wire the new receiver into gyro section ..
yes it will work but modification work is needed ..

guys, other than the DJI quad, got any others brand ??  i went to see the hobbytech website, feels like to get the things to fly, got to spend like 3k =/ is that correct?
*
there are lots of other "less prestigious" brands that flies very well
i sold off my DJI controller already .. says so much for DJI .. hahahaha

depending on what u wanna fly and do and read and build
a basic quad would prolly cost around rm500 depending on what controller u wanna use (assuming u already have radio system and batteries)
then the addons will start to get u laa ... hahahaha

Guyyssss, I'm in need of help.

I have the Align T-REX 700 Nitro model with a 7 channel JR PROPO XG7 controller. I've assembled and flew it for the initial test flight, just to see it working so hovering it slightly above ground is enough for the time being. Thing is, I'm planning on adding additional servo for FPV and etc.

I'm totally new and this is definitely gonna sound like a noob question so bear with me tongue.gif
How do I actually switch to other remaining/spare channel aside from the rudder, elevator, aileron, and throttle? Been cracking my brain but I still can't figure it out. Hope Sifus in here can help.
*
1st ... your radio only supports 7 channels
your heli already using at least 6 channels ... maybe even all 7 channels
u will need to fully understand your radio or see the person who set it up for u

2nd .. engines are normally bad news for FPV coz of too much vibrations
and single rotors are much more dangerous compared to multi rotors
multi rotors are cheaper too .. hehehe

Hai, everyone... I just bought this few weeks ago. Been flying and crashing for a few times. Can anyone here recommend a suitable RC plane flying site around KLANG. The only place I can find is the park in Pandamaran, its huge like 4 football field size. But its quite occupied with footballers in the weekend morning and evenings, only time its safe to fly is week day mornings.

Another thing I would like to ask is,I sought of loss control or had only intermittent control of my plane last week after flying 20 minutes. I landed the plane and changed the planes lipo battery which was newly charged. But then it happened not long after take off. It crashed into a tree and managed to get it down. The radio's battery indicator was still green and when I went nearer I could still control all the control surfaces.

Is this a sign that the plane went out of the radio's range???
*
range depends on your radio .. nothing to do with your plane
radio frequencies are prone to interference ... thats why radios are important

if u are using the radio that came with that plane ... i would advise u to not fly too far
if u are thinking of long term investment in this hobby then get a good radio ... it will be totally worth it

i know the field of which u are talking about .. pandamaran sports complex
i wanna try to fly there too one day .. hahaha

*
buy the best u can afford if u are looking long term
i highly recommend the futaba 8FG
can be used for real time flying as well as the SIM

but u can oso use cheapo ESKY radio that prolly ppl give away or less than rm50 or so at rc shops
good enuff for practice at the SIM

i am usually at puncak jalil on saturdays ... maybe sundays too
830am onwards ... normally ends 1030am or so ... depending on mood and turnout
