is there any way to convert the digital wifi 5/8ghz fpv feed into analog that can go much longer distance? and more stable feed around obstacle?
*
Nope you can't but if your camera have video out just buy an analog 5.8ghz video transmitter and that's it. Done.

QUOTE(^pomen_GTR^ @ May 9 2016, 10:59 AM)
so it was directly compabtible with 3s lipo esc?  or do i need some sort of converter?
*
Yup compatible but have to charge at 1A rating.
Here's photo my buddy help me building a Li-On pack for my plane:

18650 lithium batts are way too heavy ..
i use them in my vape devices
*
Heavy? did you ever try it? (1 cell is only 45gram with 3500mah inside).
My battery:
1. (Model: LG MJ1 18560) Li-on after been packed is 10500mah 3s3p = 480gram (after i trim the cable) give me 1 hour 20min flight time (punch to 8.4v).
2. (Model: YPG lipo) Li-po if 10500 3s2p = 860gram. 5200mah 3s is 430gram give me only 30min flight time. Imagine putting 2x packs, the plane will never fly with such weight.
Li-on give more power to weight ratio plus you can push up to 2.5v per-cell.
Here the info about the "LG MJ1 18560 3500mah" Li-on battery: https://batterybro.com/blogs/18650-wholesal...-review-3500mah

Did you watched my video using li-on with telemetry data? Btw i'm still compiling my another new endurance video using Li-on, landing at almost 8.4v with extra long kilometers....another surprise video soon. Try push that with a Li-po.
You should try it, never try you will never know. biggrin.gif

Just now i fly again, check the screenshots of telemetry data during the first leg of flight and at the end of the flight, 1 hour 20 minutes on Li-On baby!

Telemetry data start flying at 6.08am till 7.26am:

actually no. on a winged flyer, it's ok, but not on helis or cars that runs power hungry motors. while li-ion have the same voltage as lipo, it doesn't have the same Amp output. the C rating on a lipo is always higher.

a typical lipo, say 20c, 2000mAh, will give 40amp. a typical high discharge li-ion would typically be around 35Amp(2000-2500mAh), max. so a li-ion is not that suitable for aggressive flying, that requires lots of power. also note:

- high discharge li-ion are more expensive than lipo, per cell. noticed i said high-discharge, a 10Amp li-ion is not high discharge
- you are not suppose to run li-ion in parallel/serial unless the batt is made for such application(stated safe to do so)
- usually, the mAh stated on li-ion is over the actual value, especially on the cheap ones.
- 3x 18650 is pretty large as oppose to a 3 cell lipo.

try running a li-ion on a power hungry application as oppose to a lipo and you'll see what i mean. li-ion just don't do too well under heavy load. a typical scenario is that while your motors will end up at the same speed at full power(volts), li-ions will take longer to get there(amp/c-rating).
*
Yup, he's right Li-on is suitable for low current (A) consumption such as single motor plane or anything that runs under 10A constant throttle. The good news is with that you will have more stable current capacity over time and also more runtime since it can be drain best at 2.8~2.6v before 2.5v unlike Li-po where it quickly drops voltage starting 10.3v till un-usable 9.9~9.8v (3.3V per-cell). Anyways you guys should wait for my video again, it will show how current was use properly on Li-On or else watch my previous video where 50% capacity left during landing.

The good news for coreless brushed motor quad (low current) power quad) it fly almost forever with a single cell of Li-on. Unfortunately your motor will overheat since its based on brushed motor, so more likely will wobble due to overheating motor. My friend tried it on Syma flown over 30min then the motor burned....still have more juice left on that battery

42.4km trip = 60min = Li-on pack
A sneek peek of my upcoming video of my Volantex Ranger 757-4 doing 42.4km in 60 minutes. It was early windless morning, the sunrise was about to rise. I realised the Ranger flew much better and more power efficient without wind. The Cruise speed much better and constant than the previous video. Upon landing it was consume only up to 10.7v on my LG Li-on battery than last video where it was 10.3v only at 36km. Will post the video in two day bcos my notebook is slow.

Video: 50.5km RANGER 757-4 beautiful sunrise tropical trip
My beautiful aerial trip of a life time. 50.5km flight trip of my UAV Volantex RANGER 757-4 discover amazing beauty of Borneo's mother nature. This is the only video i have that seems to be different that any video i've recorded because of the beautiful morning ambient and the surrounding which is more alive, golden and truly heart warming watch. I guess the plane flew at the right place and at the right time. A tropical journey i won't forget. At the end of the flight it left almost38% of juice at 9.8V (lowest it can go 8.4V) on Li-on. This plane is a long range perfection.

Any soldering kit between 60~100W is good. I'm using cheap 60W soldering equipment cost me RM45 works well for 5 years made some clean perfect soldering. What makes soldering finishing quality good is the person soldering skills.

FPV scale driving video Cross road 2: Eagle - FY03
Here another cool scale FPV cockpit video driving around the park. Same location when i first used to test drive the FY03. Also include some mild off-roading. Best cockpit FPV driving i ever had with great view over the wheels and track. Check out my active suspension and see how it cling on the side wall on some part of the track. Sweet!
