Hi guys,

I'm wondering whether cx10 with xiaoyi action can attached is stable when there is strong wind. I plan to take some area footage during my skiing trip. I have not purchase the cx10 or the action cam yet. Since im not that into rc for long period so Im searching for very low budget quad which allow me to take aerial footage. Is it possible?

Thanks~~

Don't think CX-10 can carry a Xiaoyi action cam... Do you mean CX-20?

i just found out cx10 cant carry gopro. shame on me. thanks blurjoey.
about the cx-20, i cant afford the pricetag.

is it possible to find drones models under RM300 which strong enough to carry gopro/xiaoyi and can withstand strong winds?
or its better for me to search for drones under RM300 with built in cam?

this is beautiful...

I am looking to get one myself..
Low budget beginner..
Looking at Syma X8G..

will be scrolling own these pages for review..

The X8G comes with an 5mp camera and the quality is surprisingly very good(though not as good as xiaomi yi),keep in mind the quadcopter itself is for aerial video so don't expect it to be fast and manouvreable,it is very stable though, and has excellent range(400 meters) and flight time(12-14 mins).

The biggest plus is that the camera frame fits a real gopro so you don't need to mod a camera mount or anything,if you wish to upgrade to a better camera.

Do you have any flight experience, because i won't recommend it to beginners since it's large and heavy and could cause harm.

No,unfortunately. The cheapest I could think of is the tarantula X6 which costs around RM400 and it can carry small cameras such as mobius, runcam hd and gopro as well, but I won't recommend carrying gopro because it stresses the motors too much due to being heavier than the other two(74g vs 40g).

It is a fun flyer with it being fast going forward and a fast turn rate but currently I can't recommend it because some owners have found issues with it drifting around and not wanting to hover in place, which means the gyro is messed up.

Nope, most of those quads have pretty low quality cameras at that price point and can only record in 480p or low quality 720p.You have to spend at least rm700-900 to get a good setup imho nod.gif

any recommended affordable (preferbly cheaper than phantom2vision+) that can support at least 5000mah batt (or longer runtime around 20mins) with gimbal + yi camera?

CX-10 is mini quad, it cant carry anything except itself.

CX-20 can carry GoPro & Gimbal, brushless motor really helps. Other than that, you can look for Tarantula X6, get the one without camera at RM250+

However I read some says this X6 has motor overheat issue even by itself, so adding a camera to it might even make it worse. So you need to becareful not to burn the motor.

Or the Syma X8C, I got mine less than RM300. No need spend extra for the X8W (The wifi fpv, which is useless for 2 reasons : the camera is useless, wifi fpv signal will interfere your transmitter, the drone will lost signal once in a while, which is bad).

The latest version is X8G, which comes with a GoPro like china action camera. The price for X8G is very expensive and the camera can only be used with the drone. You can't take it out to use it alone.

So you might as well just get the X8C and add your own GoPro / XiaoYi camera. I go for the Syma X8 and add a SJCam.

Performance wise, due to it is brushed motor, don't expect good battery life, it will fly for about 5-7 minutes for stock battery. And don't overload it, else once battery go lower than 50%, the motors cant get enough thrust to lifts its weight, it will descend like mad. So make sure you test run your setup, know the battery time and performance before flying it for real.

For the price of X8G, maybe you can consider X8C & buy your own action camera.

Right now, for most affordable price tag (less than RM1500), I can only think off Cheerson CX-20, Flying 3D X8, or DIY your own drone setup.

XK Detect X380 sounds like a good choice based on your demands.

5400 mah 3s lipo with max flight time of 30 mins.20 mins if you have a camera attached.
1000m range and futaba compatible(S-FHSS)
Gps position hold is reportedly better than CX20 or 3D X8 and also include one button takeoff and landing.also has headless mode.
Unfortunately,no manual flight.Only GPS or altitude hold mode during flight.

You can find it on both gearbest and banggood for somewhere around 320-350 USD without camera.

Tarantula X6, Syma X8 cost around RM300, brush motor, no GPS. No they are not same league with Flying 3D X8, Cheerson CX-20, which cost RM1200+, with GPS and Flying 3D X8 even have telemetry.

There are lot china manufacturers drone cheaper than dji phantom but offer similar experience.
In fact DJI is actually from China as well, they are good at marketing hence the high price tag.

My next upgrade will be a drone that use brushless motors, return to home, gps hold and etc.. I am thinking either CX-20 or DIY to build it.

oh so do u recommend me to go straight for cx-20 or phantom 2 instead?
i was more concern wanna put a gimbal + gopro, worry the flight time lesser than 20mins, whereas the phantom indicates can go for 20mins with those things attached

Actually, flight times vary based on certain conditions i.e camera setup weight, weather, battery capacity and how you fly it.I found that the phantom has an advertised flight time of 25 mins but most users reported that it gets a bit less than that. You have previous experience with smaller copters,so maybe you will be able to control it but take it slowly and learn the functions of the quad such as Heading Lock and GPS Hold before you get up high and attach a camera to take video.

Instead of the CX-20 or Phantom,a better alternative would be the XK Detect X380,a little more expensive than CX-20(320 USD w/o camera) but well below the price of a phantom and just as good.It even uses the Futaba S-FHSS protocol which means you can use a Futaba T8J and fly with it.The battery is a 5400mah and flight time without a camera+gimbal is 28-30 mins and 19-22 mins with it and GPS position hold is far more stable than the CX-20 from what i gather from reviews.

Unfortunately, you cannot set waypoints to make it fly autonomously but maybe a future firmware update fixes that and no telemetry as well while the 3D X8 has it,also no manual flight mode if you just wanna fly it around. It's also a bit slow in forward movement but for aerial video it's an ok speed.

Here's a flight demo of it

I just got my qrx350 pro with f12e, 3axis gimbal & ilook+ about 3.5k.
If u want something easy & less maintenance get dji. The down side is expensive parts & expensive battery.

If u like to explore more about quadcopter tech, APM, mission planner, telemetry, osd & etc. qr x350 pro or cx-20 is a good choice (cheaper battery, cheaper parts)
