the value that show 1st is a default value....
876 -23
856 - depend on network coverage...

i have 3pcs E1762...all different value....not same

miezaidin You were right, it does depend on network coverage.

I changed #856 from -100 to -228 and #876 to 26 at work and it worked.

But at home, it wont dial. So weird... I primarily use it at work only, but wanted to try at home also.

Signal strength went from 40-50% to 100%.

if your setting above can dial...at hame can use...bcau b4 this i tried to change the setting at home...modem can't dial..after using another place..can dial...back to home..try again..it's work....

I hope it will at least not causing overheating on E173.

I have bad experience 4 years ago using Dlink DWM-652 that badly overheting and disconnecting. It even destroyed the simcard inside. that was modem from hell.

well, there is a Max number which u can tweak up to,. any value higher than that wont apply,.

so dont worry, if u worry your E173 is over heat, just open the cover,.. that way more air can flow through,

or place it in air con room ( if u have air con ), or near window which have good air flow or some where shade which cooler or use a mini fan to blow at it if u are using it heavily
