for 3G, look for modem that support DC-HSDPA connection as that is the fastest 3G connection for now... if you are not living in LTE area, having LTE modem is more for future preparation as they also support #G connection. but be carefull, nto all LTE modem support DC-HSDPA, some only up to HSDPA+
*
Yup, need to be careful with this one

But currently all Huawei LTE range support DC-HSPA+

What is the default value of MF680's “NV_WCDMA_VGA_GAIN_OFFSET_1” ?

Or rather the best value and default value ?

Thanks

Nope, or try use some can or something reflect to the tower location

Or just simply buy an antenna

mine is the same, try a different port, mine worked on one specific USB port, and I'm now using it.

just a question, high rise have lower signal quality? I'm on 20+ floor now and seems i'm only getting average of 2-3Mbps on download, and connection to SG is ~1Mbps

z8net : You probably added a wrong COM (Might be the actual internet COM or diagnostics).

You can refer to device manager I guess under communication section (can't sure which section since didn't use Windows for a while doh.gif)

Anyway E398 no need any sort of supercharge, wrongly tongue.gif

BBXiong : Typically yes, technically depends on where is Maxis base station, what is your signal you get on MDMA notworthy.gif

z8net get decent speed even on KLCC nod.gif

Maxis won't cut SIM card, they will issue you with a new one smile.gif

Oh. Will try it.
Between a phone and a usb modem, which is more power?
Because my modem cant detect 3g in my area but my phone can.

Probably your modem doesn't support UMTS 900Mhz but your phone can wink.gif

Read first page I got some explanation there.

Modem is definitely better if comparing same range. Dont compare a 21Mbps modem VS a LTE Phone tongue.gif

Oh, Thanks for the explanation.
I just check my modem info and it does not support UMTS 900.
It only support UMTS 2100. Seems that Celcom using 3g@UMTS 900 at my area, in my area Maxis and Digi can detect 3g so they use 2100 I assume.
Yeah, I think this is the time for an upgrade. tongue.gif

Once upon a time, a tower at my neighborhood give me 7.2Mbps DL speed. (DC-HSPA+)
What I remember, if pointing to 2 different tower using external panel antenna, theoretically the speed will be double. (is it?) sweat.gif
I feel curious if I point 2 antenna to same single tower, is it speed double or remain 7.2Mbps.
Or may b DC-HSPA+ + EDGE ? blush.gif

Need some clarification rolleyes.gif

A modem only can connect to one tower at once.

Celcom got DC-HSPA+? :
