fine let be be the first to reply to this thread.
my recent knife was teh standard spyderco calypso jr with grey handle

handles well, blade thickness fits goood, with the blade geometry, cutting is way easy. not quite used to the tip down carry but it has its benefits ie, lint doesnt collect in the joint because the joint is facing up not downwards towards the bottom of the pocket where lint collects
size is nicely while being large enough to handle as a kitchen tool and folds niecly into slightly over 4cm. so its not rediculously small to use while not being scary huge ie manix

thanks
marcus

I've always liked blades(knives, swords etc), but never really took the time to learn much about it.
Anyone can point me to some resource about knives? Like what makes a good knife, the different types of knives and their purposes etc.

the current situation is
is it too much hype and too little performance?

want the physical product to judge

anyone got first hand exprience with BMs?
another brand i am curious about is Al Mar anyone handled one before?
comparisons? form and function?

Well Marcus, i can't tell you much about Al-mar. I never had one before. The other reason is too many brands in the market. How i wish i can own all, but its impossible. Anyway, from what i heard al-mar is not too bad. Its utility knives is doing great in the market. I guess there must be a reason behind it.
