The actual speeds from ATi is 500MHz core speed and 300MHz memory speed. But they are many different speeds from manufacturers....

what is the point talking about outdated graphic card? isnt 9600XT become fosil already?
*
Well, no offence, but if you feel there is no point talking about outdated graphic card then why you come in here? This topic is dedicated to the 9600XT users who want to exchange their view on their card. With all respect not all of us can keep up with the latest card, some of us are still using "fosil". So is it wrong that we are discussing our "fosil" here? I think you should learn how to respect others.

Currently I do satisfy with my Asus 9600xt vivo
Bought it last year RM700.
Ya. Is really a outdate card. I do not a very heavy gamer. But all good game I will take a try. Basically this card still able to let us run all the game in basic mode. I still can playing what ever game which i think i want. Just the effect not that much only. Is not point to change to pci card and the the motherboard and processor just to let u view more shadow or light in the game. If the game is really a good game, you would not really have time to give attendance to all those tiny shine image. If not really seeing it during gaming, no point to invest also. Spend so much for graphic card just to play a game is not a game, Is a graphic demo. Doom3 is a good example. Graphic pretty but game mode suck. what point ? HEHE, by the way 9600xt still able for us to play FEAR, seeing those ghost. sufficient for all. dont follow the technology blindly. U are not printing money. Is not proud stuff to spend so much buying a expensive card to play a game and come to forum here show off. If compare, If you able to configure your Gforce4 to run doom3, that is really a proud stuff to show off. Fully utilize is smart man.

me still using powercolour 9600XT 128mb bravo edition. The default speed is 513mhz/300mhz. Not a serious gamer, so this card serves me well for the past 2 years till now. it is really a good investment.
for my opinion, no point to swith to newer better card with AGP interface for now since PCI-E is the way to go, maybe would change everything on my next new PC.
