ok my device is scewed...need help from any sifu....
i used toolkit to download and reflash stock rom...didnt work...and now i cant get into my custom bootloader to restore from backup...hate using adb but read up and did so...when flashing stock rom using adb i get this error

archive does not contain 'boot.sig'
archive does not contain 'recovery.sig'
archive does not contain 'system.sig'

googled and some said its driver issue..uninstall and reinstall drivers on my windows machine same error....now device on fastboot mode...bootloader unlocked...run toolkit again it waits on enable usb debugging when android reboots...but naturally i cant boot to android

please someone help me
*
Did you copy the whole image zip file ( dont extract it) into the right sub folder under nexus toolkit folder
The 3 error messages is normal nothing to worry about
Tablet will still boot
I have restored stock rom 3 times using the nexus toolkit n is straightforward
No need boot to custom bootloader. Just press both volume up/down n power to boot into fastboot mode
If you want to restore make sure is connected to of n select recovery mode n than restore your backup

hey uncle benny...tks for being here and helping me out....i kinda get what u are saying but where do i actually place the stock rom in the toolkit?...earlier i downloaded the rom via the toolkit and it asked me to flash and so i did but to no avail?
*
Look under nexus toolkit folder there are many sub folders . One is called something like put stock image here - sorry pc not with me cannot remember exact name
Infact when you start to flash look at the prompts. It will remind you where to put your stock image file
No wonder you fail. Do look carefully n follow all the prompts strictly n you won't go wrong

Added on September 19, 2012, 8:14 amHi sir.it failed ..I placed the image to the right folder and used toolkit to flash..it found the image and said it was right and started the process but when it was running ...it couldn't erase data couldn't load boot loader and then flashed the image and said complete but device didn't boot up.
I then tried to only reinstall factory boot loader again and it said failed again....when I press start all it says is boot failed..please advice
*
If you see message complete but than fail to bootup successfully, boot back to fastboot mode and while connecting it with PC select recovery mode and select wipe data and caches

Screw the gov tax...how many percent they charged? A tablet around rm800+ let them increase till rm999...
*
There is no tax n duties on tablets
You are paying extra for Asus overheads n profits

yup, for 8gb, it could cost more on tax there.
*
Again I repeat no tax on tablet
Google already said they are selling directly at a loss or breakeven
Do not expect asus to follow n sell it too at a loss
You can always buy direct from google to save rm100+

Even at rm999 I consider good value
I have used several android tablets n must say it is value for money
If you think is expensive go try other android tablets n see their pricing
Just don't buy if you think is expensive

I think senheng is also selling the samsung galaxy tab 7.0 at RM999. Which one is better? Nexus 7 or Galaxy Tab 2 7.0?

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
Pro:
- Expandable storage
- Back camera
- TouchWiz UI (subjective)

Cons:
- slower processor
- VGA front camera
- Not JellyBean
- Lower screen resolution
- PLS Screen

Nexus 7
Pro:
- Faster processor
- Better front camera
- JellyBean out of the box
- Higher resolution screen
- IPS screen

Cons:
- No expandable storage
- No back camera

Potential buyers - reminder get it before end Sept so that you can redeem US$25 of free playstore credits. You can use this to buy any stuffs in playstore. I spent all on several ebooks as I have already bought most of the commonly used apps

Uncle Ben

Do u remain connected to VPN in order to get/purchase ebooks? I hav disconnected my VPN (after I got the USD25) and now I got message `...is not available in ur country' when I try to access/purchase ebooks from store.. Any other suggestion to get access?
*
Of course you must be connected through VPN so that your account is recognized as us account
ebooks can only be purchased through us based account

One question about the USD25

I have read through:
http://www.shahz.net/android/25-dollars-go...outside-us.html

At what point can I register my google account? At the end of the steps? Coz I thought the apps I buy is tied to my google account, I should register my google account first before buying the apps?
*
It is clearly mention in his blog. Read it again. Just do it when you are prompted the second time ( when select playstore) after you have successfully connected through VPN
Of course you must register your present account again to buy apps. No account how to buy?

I have read the blog 3 times, it is not clearly mentioned in his blog, so I assumed it was the step when I was told to run Google Play.

Somehow the popup doesn't happen, maybe because I already have a credit card associated with my account?
what I did was go to a paid app, then there's one option to "Add card to get $25 credit", then I continued as in the blog.
*
When you choose playstore you will be prompted to key in credit card details
I key in same credit card details as in my account only changing address n tel
Don't expect every detail clearly written. This is understood you need to key in your Gmail to access playstore

Thanks! That's what I did, and I get the USD25.

I am running out of ideas what to buy, as I already bought most of the apps/games that i need.

If I buy a book/movie/magazine, would I still be able to use it without the VPN?
*
Movies need VPN connected
Books without VPN you will see error message about cannot purchased in your country . Just ignore n select sync n you can view your purchased books
