Hi Guys.
Out of 8 bars of battery power, I noticed that the max I could achieve with charging by engine is 6 bars. Then there was a few occasions it got from 8 to 9 bars when I applied on the brake. I have never achieve max of 8 bars of battery power. I checked with my SA, who is driving a prius 1.8, and he told me that he has only seen 80-90% battery charged so far for normal use (he will double check for me though)...
The Q:
The maximum power that the engine can charge the battery is up to 6 bars, and the final 2 bars can only be achieve with regenerative brake (e.g. coming down from Genting)?  hmm.gif  Or is it just that my particular car battery has problem?  shocking.gif
*
ya the engine only charge untill 6 bar downhill can get untill full .. 80% is the max can get without the downhill charging .. i once achieved untill 7 bar on heavy drive full throttle and hard breaking ..20% the lowest before engine kick in and 80 % the highest ..

Amazing isn't it? lol
This is the FC I got when leaving Genting Highland yesterday. I saw a few PC going up there also.
Since this FC is acquired in special condition, I think it is not fair to be included into the Hall of Fame for FC. Engah's still the best.

Yesterday morning, i drove up to Genting with full load (4 adult 1 kid). FULL pedal all the way up, feel not powerful enough, easily overtaken by any car except lorry and bus. However still managed to get 13km/l on FC.

So Guys, if anyone have worse FC than 13km/l driving up Genting, please share with us how you managed to squeeze extra power from your PC~~~

Prius C on high speed will surprise you a lot in terms of stability and quietness. This was one of conclusions we agreed during first PC gathering today. Only wind noise is loud. With cruise control, i think it is very good for highway.

Toyota made PC a great car for city drive, traffic jam, highway, lepak at your taman etc but not so good on hill climbing to Genting/Cameron Highland. It is a fuel saving car after all, no car is perfect right?  rclxms.gif

i heard some other PC owner say their car is powerfull to climb genting some more can overtake car going up..

thanks conqu3ror, RM1 and timeonce.

May i ask all the PC owner, your handbrake when pull up till it still, how many click sound u all have? mine 1 click only... i will ask the sc to adjust it back to the normal one after u all reply.

nice to see the gathering, why no orange colour sad.gif..

the motor oil they used is same as my 1st service, i got ask them to give me back the balance, so i can see the bottle is still the same.

im not sure the ecu got reset or not.. because the guy that did my car already resigned, all other technician dont know what had been done on last service.

will look for the kepong sc, do heard alot of good comments on them.

thanks again~
*
Mine 3-4 click for hand break but unable to get them reset ecu give me all kind of excuse for reset ecu saying they only did it if got error code . Bro in ur case u will have lot more reduction on pickup after the guy adjust ur rear break

ya.. less power when pickup or up hill.. u means the rear brake adjusted? could be the handbrake? or both?
*
Hand break should be rear break only cos if front the break pad will stick to the disk after journey and pull handbreak

sbsoo,

My wife's PC after brake lever adjustment is 4 clicks, which I think is too little, n if I recall corectly, 7 clicks is standard.  (BTW, this is after the 1s 1k km service)

Anyway, I did some homework and check the rear wheel freeplay. I found the Left rear to have some interference at a particular spot, as there is a sound each time the wheel rotate pass that point.  The Right rear is free as Free Willy.  I can rotate the Left rear easily but eventually the frictional part will stop the wheel.

More observations with the PC after 1k km service.  The acceleration is very poor.  Overtaking a kapcai at 50km/h and increasing speed with pedal to metal was very very slow.  I thought my wife who was driving wasn't stepping it more but she told me that the pedal is all the way down already.  Something is not right.  The car does not have the forward moving urge like it use to be.  Furthermore, when cruising around 80kph, the motor doesn't run the car, then engine is the one that is coming on.  Seems like the motor is not running at all by itself. Feel that something is holding back the car.
*
Bro when the Hsd sense ur car is in cruise (not cruise control) only the engine will be running the electric motor will only kick in when power is needed it is common if ur battery is not at 4 bar and above ur car will be less power

My PC came with a bluetooth radio (the one without GPS). I think the later batch came with it. The test drive units are those of the older batches, which came with those radios exactly shown in the official PC website. If you look carefully the photo I upload "Exterior vs interior colour comparison", you will notice the radio is different from the one shown in the official website.

Date of import is somewhere in mid Sept, think is 15 Sep kut (poor handwriting in the kastam form).

Since you're using ron97, do you mind sharing the difference of ron97, in terms of FC and power, etc? Curious if the difference is obvious in hybrids. Thanks!
*
power and FC is same i think bcos my trip everyday is only 20-25km but 26L can get 550-600km .. only pump once ron95 notice the engine is hotter by touching the bonnet .. but shell give me less power now using petronas . today want to pump BHP but all three station at my place 2 close at 11.00pm 1 ron97 finish .. cry.gif

I am feeling very proud too. RM97k can buy the US most reliable car, how great.

In upcoming 6-8 years, when you can afford a Prius or Porsche Panamera S Hybrid, it is very reasonable to change your PC.  thumbup.gif

the only research i didnt do is the hybrid technology thing

but for me im looking towards the feel i get from driving the car and the things i get for the price i pay

so far i find the prius is actually quite noisy when revving compared to jazz

jazz also feels more responsive. but i like the look of prius better lol.

but one thing that surprises me is that this car doesnt have auto wiper and auto lights sweat.gif
*
u have to know why u want a hybrid car at first ? bcos of latest technology ? better FC ?

when the SA told me needed more than 3 months on waiting list for PC i do think of jazz hybrid but just for 5 minutes hihi ..

im looking into this car cos its techy, fuel saving and look nice.

and its within my budget. thats all. same goes to jazz.

the rest would be depending on how i feel when i drive the car.

anyways, would like to ask, any of u hear wind noise at 100kmh?
*
if fuel saving is ur point than the jazz hybrid can only give average 17-19km/L nothing much difference with non-hybrid vehicle ..
