Got my new White PC a few days ago. Enjoying driving it. So far eco-score is getting around 70/100. Driving it like it is normal car.

I tried lots of cars in the class/price range.  Prius C felt right. Here's my thinking:

Ford Fiesta - nice exterior look, nice comfy seats. Good size engine and a good ride.  Inside boring/nothing special.

Kia Forte - packed with gadgets. Liked the big 2.0 engine but maybe too powerful for city driving (for me). Thought things not so well designed/put together. Design looked nice a couple of years ago-not so sure now. Worried big time about poor resale value.

Honda Jazz - Liked it a lot. But masses of space and huge windows - pro's and con's! Inside nice but dash nothing special and no GPS module available. Engine 1.3 was not huge.  Did not feel great when test drove around bends in road. Over time felt my thought change- was too plain, not enough gadgets -but does have good safety features. its the best selling car for pensioners in parts of Europe - a big put off!

Honda Insight - hated it first time. Sales person also tried to put me off and go for Jazz Hybrid.  Second time trying it i liked it. Nice drive. liked the boot size, small.  Bit big and clumsy and lacking special features and gadgets. Only 2 air bags!  Seen them around lots and nothing special.

Suzuki swift. Love the outside. Inside terrible. Small boot and cramped with very plain interior. Nice size engine and ok ride. Looks better than it drives though.

Then tried Prius C. Was put off by 4-5 month waiting time. Took another look and was offered one in a months time so grabbed it.  Love the simple design inside -plasticky -Yes but simple and modern. Have the built in GPS unit which i like is sunken to avoid too much sunlight.  Like the safety features. Like the controls on the wheel and most of all i like the simple display- very effective.  Boot size is just right.  Feels quick on the road (city driving).  Did not buy it for fuel consumption but will welcome a reduction in costs.

For me it was the best package for the price.  Good value, good resale value.

Things not so keen on (1st week). Window wiper at back very small. Front one is great but in heavy rain yesterday could hardly see out of the back.

Thanks for the sharing and comparison on many other model. Enjoy your ride ya icon_idea.gif

hi all, what tint do you guys suggest for budget <rm 1k?
*
Agard - RM 950 (Rawang)
Front - IRR 97% (highest specs)
side and rear - IRR 80%
5 years warranty.
Feel good so far, no matter how hot, won't feel in the car, PC climate control at 25C running at 2/3 fan level.

Thanks for the reply, Wan.

Actually I did visit for a test drive on a sunny day a couple days back. As usual, everything happen so fast and before I notice anything the test was over. It was very tempting to book it as there is a promotion starting this month until end of the year, as the SA told me that's a RM3k off for Prius C and RM2k off for Prius. Anyway next weekend I will be going back for another appointment to test drive the Prius, maybe at the same time I try to ask the SA for another test drive on the Prius C again. The only thing is holding me back is the trade in for my current car is very low, so I am trying to maths out the cost of this hybrid car down-payment and instalment. I still can't make up my mind to go for this or the Prius. And in between this two prices, there are others hybrid car which is not a full hybrid. I don't want to regret getting the wrong one  later on. Any thought guys??

Currently I don't see much of the PC on the road at klang valley, did saw one last week on NPE in the morning but haven't seen one after then. Maybe everyone are still waiting for their unit to arrive. Cheers!!!
*
For full hybrid vs semi hybrid, please spend time read the old posts.

PC is however more expensive than Vios, City, Forte, Fiesta, Inspira, Preve, Elantra and new model this year. Every car has to be imported from Japan. Thus you don't see it many on the road. It was the same last time when Prius was newly launched.

I get my car a month ago and I have no regret. If i have more $, of course I will go for Prius for better space. Hopefully the Prius V is coming.

1. Half a feet height, which is 6", My Prius C passed through flood few weeks back at Serdang which was height enough to cover half a wheel.

2. Very minimum wobble feeling even very fast car pass by, not like my previous Kancil smile.gif

3. Foot space is good enough, this car has 2550mm wheelbase, same as VIOS and City

4. When battery is more than half, it is quite powerful
*
You are right, i sometimes drive it up to 125km/h at Kesas and it is very stable and quiet (unlike the normal car which will start roaring at 110km/h). It is way too much than what I expected from the car similar to Myvi's size. Hopefully this is because it is PC, not because my car is new. rclxms.gif

I bought a Hybrid because I want to drive slow and save fuel, but end up i am sort of addicted to speeding.

How can i make my PC siren sounds in the car park while I am searching it? There are only 2 buttons on the remote control, door unlocked and locked. Yes I haven't gone through the manual, no time for it yet.

I think I know that fella who is selling in Penang and the car is already sold.  Main reason for selling is the small size; lady owner who use to drive a V6 Harrier.  So u know why it is considered small and underpower when u use to drive a V6 SUV.

To me, coming from a big bike rider, most cars available in this country is "underpowered"  smile.gif  U want power, get a bike.  U want comfort, get a car.  U want comfort yet save fuel, get the P.C.  smile.gif

Amazing isn't it? lol
This is the FC I got when leaving Genting Highland yesterday. I saw a few PC going up there also.
Since this FC is acquired in special condition, I think it is not fair to be included into the Hall of Fame for FC. Engah's still the best.

Yesterday morning, i drove up to Genting with full load (4 adult 1 kid). FULL pedal all the way up, feel not powerful enough, easily overtaken by any car except lorry and bus. However still managed to get 13km/l on FC.

So Guys, if anyone have worse FC than 13km/l driving up Genting, please share with us how you managed to squeeze extra power from your PC~~~

Is Prius C suitable for highway travel ie. KL and Seremban on daily basis?
*
Prius C on high speed will surprise you a lot in terms of stability and quietness. This was one of conclusions we agreed during first PC gathering today. Only wind noise is loud. With cruise control, i think it is very good for highway.

Toyota made PC a great car for city drive, traffic jam, highway, lepak at your taman etc but not so good on hill climbing to Genting/Cameron Highland. It is a fuel saving car after all, no car is perfect right? rclxms.gif

So to say that the SA don't even know what that comes along with PC. Anyway bluetooth is not that important for me. I hardy use it on my exora(not consistent working). I had my wireless ear piece for my hp. Once I get mine, I will know its there or not. Thanks guys for the info icon_rolleyes.gif
*
The bluetooth function is capable to pick up and hang up call. It will auto connect the phone even the radio is on FM/AM/CD/USB/Aux mode.

The one you saw in showroom is old batch and SA doesn't really bother what radio is equipped. If I am the SA and I have Prius, Camry, Altis, Vios, Rush, Hilux, 86 etc so many models to sell, I don't really bother bluetooth or not.

I will take your comment that I photoshop out the bluetooth as a compliment. I can also show you my bluetooth radio during second PC gathering. It is not for PC only, latest Vios also get it. If yours doesn't have bluetooth, you really need to complain.

Bro, thanks for the info.

Really proud to own the reliable PC fully imported car (also my family 1st imported car, tired of local car quality/reliability). Hope will not have to change for the next 6-8 years.  thumbup.gif
*
I am feeling very proud too. RM97k can buy the US most reliable car, how great.

In upcoming 6-8 years, when you can afford a Prius or Porsche Panamera S Hybrid, it is very reasonable to change your PC. thumbup.gif

I see, sorry for my poor english. Seems like the Porsche SA so naive to think that whoever can pay RM30k in cash is rich enough. I bet if I approach Toyota showroom with RM60k cash, i can't drive the PC away also.

I think you can call your SA, tell him you want the discount. Or you will drop your booking (rugi about RM80-RM100) and go for the SA who can offer you the discount.
