Bro...u want to jalan2 on d road or arrive destination fast, safe n save..? How could u drive with EV all time?
For me..i treat PC like normal car..benefit is i can get xtra km...
I just use ECO all the time..off course with low speed it is automatic use EV...
i dont understand why we need to speed below 50kph just want to maintain EV... This will annoying others...
Every day use PC..off course at start up you will not get hi battery level...this already prevent u to use EV...the car still need fuel to charge...
I used both car n mbike...honestly slow car are annoying... And somehow slow at fast lane...
Heyyy we live in metropolitan dude...
*
That's why every time I went through toll, I choose the furthest toll at the left, normally it has shorter queue. And after the toll, i have space to slowly accelerate without blocking others. I accelerate to 60kmh with EV mode then continue with engine. Then I score 90 for accelerating. lol It is a way to train patience also. biggrin.gif

Getting my peal white prius c in the next few days (i hope). What is a good tint for it?  Not too expensive, but keep out lots of heat.  How much should i spend for a decent tint? SA offered me cheap one RM900. Sorry, never bought tint before so not sure. Thanks.
*
Welcome! The tint could vary from RM200 to RM3000, Vcool is the best and also most expensive, there are others like aircool, sungard, wingard, 3M etc. You can find more opinion at
Car Tint - Lowyat forum. I use Agard, it is cheap and so far ok (i just tinted last Sat, still observing).

OK thanks. So worth tinting prius c or not?  Would like some tinting, not too dark though. Don't want to pay large sum but want a decent quality good price.
*
You should tint, no matter how cheap. My consideration is those windows smasher when we are in traffic jam. They won't pick a tinted car to smash and they know which car is tinted. I put the tint sticker on all windows to show them.

Yes, I am lame! biggrin.gif

Added on October 4, 2012, 9:02 amThis is my first full tank. Drove already 420km still got half tank of fuel. Very happy with the FC.

to aragongon,

Haha. me too. And i put on anti smash tint on side windows. Can't be more careful nowdays as alot of snatch thief break windows during jam. And never put any belonging and bag in ur PC .

My PC is full of toys from gf collection haha. ^^ . Been reading about the snatch thief case and very pity for those victim. If manage to see any.. dont worry.. the snatch thief is confirm will be ram by me ^^ . No offence as it happen to my close friend.

Hence anti smash tint come first and always remember lock ur PC when u in the car as there is no autolock.
*
to timeonce,

Agree to your points. My sister kena with her myvi at Kampung Pandan roundabout infront of traffic light and I hope it won't happened to my wife while she is driving my PC. They normally pick ladies' car.

You are right, never put any belonging and bag in our PC. I always put in boot. It is blessed we have the board covering our boot. Alza doesn't have it, people can just look inside from windows.

I was thinking of ram into the snatch thief also if i see any, good to know that no offence, but what about the damage of our car, can claim his insurance (hopefully he has insurance)? biggrin.gif

On Eco Score screen, I usually score 4 or 5 bar on START, with a careful braking, I could score 4 or 5 bars also on STOP. However, I had never scored more than 3 bar on CRUISE.

How could I score more?

Kiding FC is 22.5km/l which is really normal for PC. So nothing more to argue.

Thanks Kiding for the info, didn't know 16L = 12kg

Guess the best way is save fuel is not pump less petrol, is clear your boot & reduce the driver & passenger weight LOL  rclxms.gif

Today my wife is the driver, she pick up faster than me and just treat the PC as her Honda City from Cheras to IKEA, didn't bother the FC and eco score (end up eco score only 50-60). However, she managed to get 28.5km/l after off engine. Amazing.

Maybe faster pick up + remain constant speed = better FC?

Just to share this info, this will give peace of mind to all Keyless Entry Car Owner.

Prius is least likely to be stolen.

vehicles are less likely to get stolen because they’re, well, boring. Other times it’s because they have hefty security systems, high technology or their parts aren’t worth much overseas. In the case of the Prius, there is a smart key involved (high technology). When the Prius is still it its factory stages, its smart key has a unique Key ID Code burned into its memory as well as a Vehicle ID Code, which is unique to the vehicle it is paired with. Without the key in the car, the vehicle cannot be operated - both the engine and steering wheel are locked. In fact, the only recorded thefts of the Prius are by people who either left their keys in the car or out in the open.

Feel so relief after reading the articles. Thanks for sharing.

A months ago, someone tried to steal my neighbor new BM but bumped into another neighbor and failed. 2 weeks ago, another neighbor kena cars stolen, the guys broke into his living room, grab the keys and drove away a Mercedes, Camry, Alphard and Vios. A weeks ago, another neighbor Alphard and Mercedes also get stolen.

Damn scare my car will disappear when I wake up. Now have to keep the key secured (under my pillow). rclxms.gif

Added on October 8, 2012, 10:48 amFound out that pick up slowly, keep 80-100kmh constant speed with Eco doesn't really help.

Route: Cheras -> Kesas High way -> Glenmarie

This morning I was rushing time, off the Eco mode, pick up fast (not yet into the PWR bar, but close) and drove 100-120kmh. Reach in 30 mins instead of 50 mins, however the FC (25.8km/l) is slightly better than Eco driving style (25.4km/l), and 20 mins saved.

Follow (not tailgate!) a red PC (WXB **32) on the fast lane just now. Found out that red PC is quite HOT.

To timeone & aragongon,

(1) My house is near Kota Damansara toll. I pay 2 toll charges twice daily (RM4.60/day) and hence no need to go through any traffic light to reach my office in Shah Alam where all road junctions mostly have a roundabout

(2) I normally leave early, meaning, minimum jam

(3) Going uphill I used petrol engine, going downhill I used glide mode as much as I could, flat road maximum EV mode.

Of course, it was not a 100% smooth journey, or else I could have achieved a better result.

Save time, yes, but not really saving money as toll charges are expensive...
*
Engah, thanks for your sharing. Just 2 questions:
1.) when you are cruising, what speed are you maintain on?

2.) during acceleration, how you manage your accelerator? slow acceleration or fast acceleration? on what speed only you kick in petrol engine?

Thanks a lot!!! notworthy.gif

Just collected my Aqua Mica Prius C today  thumbup.gif.

Nearly went home without the car key because the SA had the key in his pocket when I drove off but luckily he remembered on time and called me so I waited for him by the side of the road to pass me back the key. Was told that I could still continue driving without the key but won't be able to start the car again later unless i have the key with me tongue.gif.
*
Welcome, trotters! Hope you enjoy the ride (and the traffic jam too) in eco driving.

70km/h is awesome. You must be very patient. I am trying my best to stay till 60km/h. Mostly accelerate till 55kmh already give up and kick in petrol engine.

Has anyone managed to get Toyota to:

(i) Replace the rubber whetherstrip at the driver's door to minimise the loud wind noise from entering.

(ii) Replace or apply anti-rust coating on the exhaust pipe and hinges that were rusted since the delivery of car.
*
Loud wind noise is because PC too quiet. You may filter out other important sounds if you apply more sound filter (eg. other car horn, car coming fast, bumper kena kissed, car kena kicked by motorists etc). It is very dangerous to be deaf on the road too.

According the service manual, there anti rust inspection every 10 km or more. Don't know where it is the one u mentioned.

Added on October 10, 2012, 2:39 pmJust did my 1k services yesterday at Toyota Cheras service centre, free car wash, free labor, only parts RM104, deducted from the RM380 e voucher given previously.

Added on October 10, 2012, 2:46 pmActually I don't really know why people comment the dashboard is shit compared to HI's. PC got a rich color, good resolution and iterative dash board. it is so much fun to play with. Also very distracting on the road. haha

Please bring it to service centre asap to get it fixed. They may charge you after 1000km.

PC comes with no alignment done, told by my SA. Service Centre provide free alignment services before 1000km. Guys, beware of your alignment while you just receive the car.
