nothing is guaranteed, more likely to get
but still not confirmed, it depends on many other factors
1 thing for sure is that i will put u in a better position for an interview
how do you fare in the interview will be deciding factor if you get the job or not

Do Singaporeans really object to all foreign workers?
BY CHRIS REED
I wonder if the Singaporean people really do object to all foreigners coming into Singapore and taking jobs which could otherwise be filled by Singaporeans?

Do Singaporeans want to become hotel workers and waitresses, cleaners and construction workers? The evidence would suggest not.

Yet Singapore is preventing these positions from being filled due to pressure and supposed anger from “ordinary Singaporeans” to foreign workers supposedly taking their jobs and using their facilities.

Given the chance though it appears that Singaporeans don’t actually want these jobs either which in turn leaves these jobs unfilled. This leaves the companies effected trying to fill them feeling frustrated and unable to service guests.

Well, I think Singaporeans by and large are critical of PAP's liberal policy towards foreign PMET's (i.e. most of us here) rather than the unskilled/semi-skilled workforce.

Singaporeans are antagonistic towards blue collar labourers not because they want their jobs, but because they don't want them in their MRTs, buses, shopping in their shopping malls, eating in their food courts and basically living in their community space. They want them to be seen (do the donkey work) but not heard.

They are also antagonistic towards PMETs because of the perception they compete for the same jobs, same facilities (cars, property etc). To a certain extent, of course we do, but they conveniently ignore the fact that if we weren't here, those PMET jobs that we have, wont be here as well. It's not as if we all weren't here, all our employers would simply stay put and hire only Singaporeans. They'd simply invest somewhere else.

To be honest, i think Singaporeans don't really understand their predicament and becuase they have enjoyed so many years of good life, they forget how tough it could be.
They want lower cost of living (lower housing prices, lower food prices, lower car prices, etc) but at the same time they want less foreigners, less working hours and more salary. That in itself is already a contradiction, not forgetting Singapore has NO natural resources, no land, no nothing except people. If you now take the people out, they have NOTHING at all. But they don't seem to realise this.

To me the current PAP is doing everything right down to the last detail for the population blueprint.
But unfortunately the ordinary Singaporeans don't realise it....until its gone.

Let me ask those who have been in SG for sometime, to think about and to give their thoughts on what happens if the opposition takes over and implements those "popularist policies".

In my opinion, it will cause Singapore to slide slowly but surely into nothing more than a vacation Island like Maldives and not the economic powerhouse it is today.
Imagine if the opposition takes over.

They only need to drastically reduce foreign manpower whether PMETs or S Pass and implement a higher min wage to bring the entire Singapore down on her knees. This is because:-
1. Almost immediately (even now) many restaurants, SMEs esp those labour intensive ones like in Manufacturing will close down because of a lack of labour causing massive unemployment of Singaporeans.
2. As a result, those Singaporeans that got laid-off becuase of the above have to compete with so many other SIngaporeans for lesser jobs in market from co. that are still surviving. However, becuase of the higher wage implemented and lower demand for goods, there is little or no incentive for the exisitng co. surviving to absorb these additional headcount. Unemplyment will soar. Those that do take in additional Singaporeans have to fork out more cost becuase of the implemented higher min wage.
3. The inefficiency caused by the above will have to be passed on to their customers in order for the co to survive and protect its profit margins, causing a spike in prices of goods, which in turn causes even more inflation that leads to higher cost of living. So unless the gov wants to subsidise every other goods, this is not feasible.
4. Asking the co. to absorb the additional cost due to inefficiencies and higher labour cost at the expense of their survival/profit margin is one of the dumbest thing i've heard Singaproeans say. Think about it. If i'm not making money (or much money) I might as well not start a business, correct? Why want to take so much risk (by starting a company - potentially losing my capital) for little returns and where the gov keeps asking me to absorb the cost?????
5. The consumption power for the already small singapore population will begin to shrink even more considering a large portion of singapore's population and consumers are foreigners. This will cause more consumer driven company to relocate looking for bigger markets like Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand.
5. For those MNC, many of them will relocate elsewhere as well. Because, the reason for them to come to Singapore in the first place is because of the relatively cost effective wages in comparison with the talents in the country, supplemented by their own management from whichever country they come from. Take away the talented people and competitve salary and it makes no sense to come to Singapore.

Do you guys agree?

Precisely. Unfortunately most Singaporeans can't/don't/refuse to look at it that way!

Now this is one group of REAL foreign talents that i must single out for salute.

They get weird stares while resting and having their meal breaks along the pavements. They get people shaking their heads behind the queues when they encounter difficulties topping-up their MRT fare cards, or get confused when trying to transact at the ATM machines.
But we often forget that they are the hardworking bunch of people who are helping to build our roads, houses, schools, other vital infrastructures etc etc. all for a meagre salary of a few hundred dollars per month. Some times their employers do not even pay them on time...

I've work with these fellows on a few occasions in my short young life, asked and listened to much about their plight, but mostly their's are the stories of their families back home. Each and everyone of them have a dream. Yes, each and every single one of them - to send most of their salaries back to their poor parents, wives, and even their kids; just so one day their families can afford a warmer house, get better treatment for their sick ones, put better food on the tables, or even so that their newly born babies can one day attend schools (provided if there's one near their villages or towns.)

Their's is the story of the silent ones. The ones who just shut up and get to work on our next grand national projects, all for the benefit of tomorrow's Singapore.
The ones who've got no time for play, no time for TV, no time for grieving when one of their workmate loses his life at a worksite mishap. They just shut up, and get to work.

When Shankar (Name of worker) was leaving Singapore, he called me on my phone to ask for my address so that he could mail me photos of his family when he'd reached home. I said, ok i'll SMS him later. I forgot to do it. The next day when i tried calling him, his prepaid-line is no longer in use. He had left airport earlier that morning. There was no time for goodbyes.

Take care my dear brother, where ever you are in India, i wish you and your family well.

To all construction workers, also local BCA scholars, worksite supervisors etc etc, we THANK YOU.

Singapore Appreciates YOU! ♥

This is just a no-consequence, no-impact, no-meaning response that does not represent the views of the majority of people who commented on this post in FB.

Some of those comments are sickening. One woman commenter even complained that foreign workers were following her when she walks, when she jogs and when she cycles. I mean... WTF? doh.gif

Send them back to the dorms and lock them in after working. Work permit meant to work here, but not to go out on the streets. Need to apply another permit to go out. The most ideal scenario some want. Soon there will be COW, certificate of walking on the street. The street are not big enough for all anymore.
